I don’t think it was a special occasion all; I’m almost certain it was just a natural extension of playing with makeup for me, but I can’t honestly remember.

My wedding (in 2005) was the first time I wore foundation, blush, brow filler, and mascara. Before that I’d only ever done eye liner/shadow, face powder, and occasionally lipstick.
I can’t remember exactly, but probably while playing with makeup. Then wearing it in high school. I probably looked horrid. I got a very cheap shadow kit with 25 shadows from Mervyns (yep, that’s how old I am) and slapped multiple shadows on my lids with sponge applicators, no brushes or primer. Didn’t do my brows, or used black eye shadow to do it. . Slapped on drugstore lipsticks and blushes, because that’s what I could afford, and back then, much of the DS stuff was pretty bad. I remember orangey foundations, and this one lipstick turning bright orange on me. Oh, and there were no contour powders, so I used dark brown eye shadow to contour my nose. Yikes!!
Well, hey at least you were contouring before it was cool! I didn’t know if I had overlooked an email or not? Just wondering if you had a chance to play with those lip gloss tubes and your OCC lip tars? It’s no rush. Sometime my email get cluttered and I was out of town last weekend and thought I may possibly have missed it in the mess of emails I had. 🙂
LOL! I haven’t forgotten about you. I’ve been testing out the OCC lip tars in empty gloss tubes, but I think I might have screwed up. I don’t think I mixed the lip tars enough before squeezing the liquid into the tubes, so the liquid is kind of thin, so harder to apply with the doe foot applicator. So, I probably need to order another batch of empty tubes and start over. But the good news is that none of the tubes have leaked so far. I had them all turned upside down overnight in a plastic container, and I had a few jostling around in a Ziploc inside my purse all day long. Not a drop, and considering they are on the runnier side, that’s a good sign.
Oh no! I could see that happening. I have to massage my tubes forever after they sit. This probably contributes to them sitting unused more( like they do). Well, I’m sorry that happened. But,glad they are not leaking on you. Keep me posted!
Not sure how full this would be considered as; but when I graduated junior high, I wore mascara, eyeshadow, black eyeliner (verrry thin line on upper lid), powder foundation, and a pinkish-peachy lipstick on my lips with some rubbed into the apples of my cheeks? Other than that, it’s been too long ago for me to remember exactly!
I don’t remember the exact occasion but I know for sure that it was for one of my ice skating competitions. Those were the only times I wore any makeup until I was in college.
I’m pretty sure for me it was for my mother’s wedding when I was about 15 or 16 — but a makeup artist did it for me, as at the time I was relatively apathetic as far as makeup was concerned. After that it was for my debutante ball, when I was 18.
probably just playing around or i wore full makeup to school when i was younger. hahaha
I guess that depends on what you consider full makeup. Dances I would wear lipstick and mascara through junior high and high school. Collage as when I started FULL makeup with foundation for events. But really it was cosplaying in 2007 that got me into full makeup!
I can’t remember either! I do remember I wore a full face sometimes when I was 14-15 and going through a goth phase but it didn’t last long.
The occasion for me was high school! I was extremely insecure, especially about acne, so I wore foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss everyday. I only grew out of the makeup overdose in my senior year. Come a long way since then…
i was 4 and it was for a dance recital! Haha. Foundation, lipstick, blush, contour, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and false lashes. -_-; That and the eyeliner were the worst.
The first time I did it myself was… eighth grade graduation dance. Foundation, lipstick, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara. Thanks, Clinique, for teaching me to do shit properly.
My mom took me to a Clinique counter just before I started high school and bought me the basics.
I was allowed to play with makeup from a very young age, and I remember getting my first foundation in maybe 6th or 7th grade. That was the last thing I added to my routine (thanks, puberty), so I’m sure my first full face of makeup was worn to school.
I think it on my aunt wedding day when I was about 13 that it a first time I wore a full makeup although in that time I love it to look like a princess but now when I saw a old pictures I feel like I want to burn them! LOL
I honestly cannot remember! But I pretty much think my answer is along the lines of Christine’s. I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of older girls and an older sister. Let’s just say they taught me the ropes. So, It probably went something like them putting a full face of make-up on 10 year old me to walk around the neighborhood in only to make sure it was all of in time before my parents returned from work! Sometimes, I’m not sure if I should thank them or curse them! lol
Mine was definitely at my cousin’s wedding in 2004, when I was 17. I hated makeup at that point in my life as I thought it was false and completely unnecessary. How things change! Back then I never thought for a minute that I would ever like makeup. I grudged doing it for the wedding but I didn’t complain…much. 😛
When I was 12, once a week for my ballroom dancing class (yuck)! Getting ready was so much more fun than the class itself, my grandma would come over and do my makeup for me 🙂
I had only worn lipgloss and cream blush in middle school. I met my best friend in 8th grade, so over that summer we really got into spending our babysitting money on makeup and trying stuff out. I’m pretty sure my first day of high school was the first time I debuted the full look: Light foundation, Corn Silk powder for the oily skin, pink powder blush, brown/nude eyeshadow, smudged brown liner on the bottom lashline only (I don’t know why teens did that back in my day, but we did), black mascara, and a pink lipgloss. All drug store, of course.
Way too long ago to remember – but I’m sure it was a fun time! I’ve loved and worn makeup for so long!
The first time I wore a full face of makeup was on my wedding day (2004) however I did wear eyeshadow and lip gloss in high school for dances. I don’t remember ever playing with makeup as a child.
Probably just school, if not a house party or even just for hanging round town, I must have been 14! No special occasion, but I seem to remember at the time wearing eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lipgloss, foundation and blush so pretty basic but I would still count that as full makeup.
I can distinctly remember this: it was my grade 6 concert and we had to wear full makeup. That was it – loved it forever and kept wearing it out of school hours. My dad was horrified!
My dance recitals as a little one! I remember my foundation was LOreal True Match and I wore a shimmery powder that had a built in brush.
colorguard freshman year! before then all i knew was putting blush and lip gloss on for special events lol. guard however requires a full load of makeup, like more than i even wear for a full face now, so my interest in makeup was born out of necessity since i had to learn to draw extremely thick eyeliner wings and do perfect eyeshadow in the course of a few months. i considered it torture at the time but it did get me into makeup so i have to give it props for that!
Prom was the first time I ever wore full face makeup. I had always used lip gloss in HS, but never foundation and the like. Miss my HS skin. Sad I have more breakouts in my early 30’s than I did as a teenager. Smh.
I think it was for a high school dance, one of the formals. I didn’t start wearing blush until my late 20’s though, didn’t really know how to apply it and didn’t want to have the signature 80’s severe cheek stripe. I’ve only recently become comfortable with blush and contour and highlighter because of all the you tube videos I’ve watched. That and the makeovers, ha!
I’m pretty sure it was a winter dance at my high school during my sophomore year
I can’t remember, I guess I started with lipstick advanced to mascara and then just built it up.I know I experimented a lot, I did outrageous things in the evenings, before washing my face, just to see how and what I could do.
I know it was high school. I worked at a make up counter. I tried all the new drug store make up I wanted. Unfortunately, I was allergic to most things so I had a Lancôme Definicils mascara, Maybelline eyebrow pencil which I burned to make creamy (and sanitize for every use) and DuWop Lip Venom. and for special occasions I let someone make me up and took lots of allergy meds for the night of and the next couple of days lol.
I’m pretty sure it was for my Confirmation I was either just about to turn 13 or had just turned 13. It was just powder, blush, mascara and lipgloss
It was for my husband’s (who was then my boyfriend) senior prom in high school.
