For fall, Guerlain has revamped their powder blush formula, and the new formula is supposed to create a “veil of ultralight texture that’s buildable and easy to apply for a subtle wash of color.” There are six shades available, and this is one of two shades that I received to test. This particular shade will be better suited for those fairer than I (I’m about medium for warm, yellow undertones at the moment, a little darker than usual), as it doesn’t show up well on my skin tone, but I suspect it’ll be a very wearable hue on most fair skin tones. It had semi-sheer color payoff that was somewhat buildable, but the best I could get was semi-opaque, which was a bit of a stretch. The texture was soft, a little dusty, but blendable on the skin without emphasizing the skin’s natural texture. The color started to fade after seven and a half hours of wear.

OK nope, my mind is not blown. I’d like to see the other shade on you, which is probably better-suited for our skin tones (I might be another bit darker than you are)!
We shall see! I feel like Guerlain could do blush really well, but I’m not sold!
Very pretty, but it looks more like something I’d wear in spring?
Could be, if that’s when you wear your lighter pinks! 🙂
If your very fair and afraid of clown cheeks, this might be the blush for you, but I think Chanel has the better formula at lower price
It is always funny to hear “Chanel is cheaper” in beauty, LOL!
It’s probably a bit too pinky pink for me, but I do think it’s a very pretty blush. It’s just not for me.
Totally understand! 🙂
You’re right, Christine. Morning Rose is definitely better suited to those of us with lighter skintones. I’m NC15 and when this was tested on me, it had good color payoff without the need to build it up. Since Guerlain uses descriptions like “veil of ultralight texture” and “subtle wash of color”, anyone who is expecting something opaque and densely pigmented is going to be hugely disappointed. Judging from past advertising copy, “veil” is Guerlain-speak for transparent and I think we all know what “subtle” means. Bottom line: Beleive Guerlain’s advertising spiel. LOL
Oh, definitely, they have geared it as a sheerer, buildable formula for sure.
Ehhh…Pretty packaging. But way too light for my skin tone as I can tell on yours. Too expensive I think for a B+.
Yep, too light for us! 🙁
It looks like it sits well on the skin. No powderiness or dryness in sight on your swatch. That’s promising for the other shades!
It does sit nicely on the skin!
Pretty, but not for $52. It looks pretty dupeable. I’m always glad to see options for fair skin, though.
True – it is easily duped!
If it only barely shows up on you, can we imagine just how invisible it would be on my MAC C4.5 face??? It would disappear into nothingness. And the pigment and formula ought to be better at that price, too.
They really designed the blush as a sheer product, so while that might not be everyone’s cup o’ tea, at least they were clear about it!
Christine, I picked up two of these at my most recent trip to my Guerlain Boutique 🙂 Morning Rose was one, and Pink Me Up was the other shade.
You’re right that this one seems to be better suited to fair skintones – I’m around NW10-15 – and this one is quite lovely on me! It’s an easy, wearable shade. Probably the best “natural” blush shade I have for my skin, although it leans more neutral-cool on me. I haven’t tried Guerlain’s blush before but I was very impressed by these! Although Pink Me Up is certainly more pigmented and brighter.
Happy to hear that the Morning Rose is doing so well for you 🙂
For a shade that is too light for your skintones, at least it diffuses well on your skin and doesn’t run opaque.. a good thing in pale blushes in my opinion. Some can look cheap and chalky. This would not be an ideal shade for me either so will be curious to see the other provided to get a better feel for the new formula.
The other one I have is definitely darker!
Very pretty!
It is!
Very pretty – and I think it would suit fair skinned girls quite well.
Agreed!
I think that would better on pale ladies.
It could!
