Giorgio Armani Zenith, Sunrise, & Sunset Eye Tints Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Giorgio Armani Zenith (13) Eye Tint
Giorgio Armani Zenith (13) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a brightened, sunshine yellow gold with lighter gold flecks of sparkle. This is one of the more glittery shades that I have tried, and it definitely didn’t apply as nicely as others as the glittery bits would bunch up and “thicken” on the lid rather than go on smoothly. It was semi-opaque to fully opaque (two layers) and lasted for twelve hours with some noticeable fall out over time. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Triptych (DC, $14.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). LORAC Gold Leaf (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). ColourPop Mrs. Potts (LE, $4.50) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Maybelline Gold Rush (P, $6.99) is darker (90% similar). Makeup Geek Fortune Teller (P, $9.99) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Sun Blonde (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Giorgio Armani Sunrise (14) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a brightened, medium orange with orange-red undertones and fine gold and pink pearl. It had mostly opaque coverage, though it can sheer out a lot if desired (use a smidgen to avoid over-applying!), and it smoothed out nicely without emphasizing the skin’s natural texture as it dried down. The color wore well for fourteen hours before creasing on me. MAC Copper Sparkle (PiP, $21.00) is darker, brighter (90% similar). Too Faced Adore (PiP, ) is darker (90% similar). YSL Steamy Coral (05) (P, $30.00) is more muted (90% similar). MAC Sexy Eyes (LE, $17.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Sequin (P, $6.00) is darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #4 (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Anastasia Bellini (LE, $12.00) is lighter (90% similar). Le Metier de Beaute Carnelian Opal (LE, $30.00) is darker (90% similar). Makeup Geek Flame Thrower (P, $9.99) is darker (90% similar). LORAC Gold (DC, $19.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Milani Bella Copper (23) (P, $4.49) is darker, brighter (90% similar). LORAC Nude #5 (LE, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). ColourPop Wild One (LE, $4.50) is less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Lucky (LE, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). Viseart Cindi (PiP, ) is brighter (90% similar). Make Up For Ever D712 Creme Brulee (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Desert Roadtrip (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). Maybelline Caramel Cool (100) (LE, $6.99) is more shimmery (90% similar). Anastasia Wine (P, $12.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Too Faced Bon Bon (Semi-Sweet Palette) (PiP, $16.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Giorgio Armani Sunset (15) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a darkened eggplant purple with lighter purple and violet pearl. It looks brighter and lighter in the tube and while drying down, but it is a deeper, richer shade when it dries down on the lid. It applied with opaque coverage, dried down evenly, and it lasted for fourteen hours before I noticed subtle creasing. The only issue I had with it was that it wasn’t as blendable as I’d like once dry, so it was harder to diffuse the edge. Illamasqua Queen of the Night (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Tarte Fingerpaint Art (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Chanel Tisse Camelia #4 (PiP, ) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Plumluxe #4 (PiP, ) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Smolder (PiP, $19.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Uncut (DC, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Bondage (LE, $19.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Make Up For Ever ME930 Black Purple (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Laura Mercier Plum (P, $29.00) is warmer (90% similar). Hourglass Exposure #4 (PiP, ) is more shimmery (90% similar). Makeup Geek Drama Queen (DC, $6.00) is more shimmery, darker (95% similar). Illamasqua Queen of the Night (P, $25.50) is more shimmery, darker (95% similar). Chanel L'Intemporel de Chanel #4 (LE, ) is lighter (85% similar). Urban Decay Vanity (LE, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). NARS Phoebe (P, $29.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Giorgio Armani Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a liquid-to-powder eyeshadow formula that has an almost water-like consistency that is cool and thin but dries down to a more powder-like finish and really sets in place. As it doesn’t dry down and cling, it feels very comfortable on the lid and typically looks forgiving, but some shades are sheerer or difficult to apply evenly. I’m not a fan of the doe-foot applicator and find using a flat, synthetic brush is best. The formula wears between twelve and fourteen hours on me (not quite the sixteen promised but certainly long-wearing). They have a slight learning curve, though.

Stunning eye look, Christine! These three work so well together.
Thank you, Melissa!
Even though one didn’t perform that well, the eye look you created is beautiful! What eyeliner are you wearing? (did I somehow skip “the look” with the new site?)
Sephora Eccentric Diva
I agree – So pretty!
Not really (skip the look….it’s ABOVE this + clicking on comments brings you below the look. I got fooled for a bit, too. I always get pulled to the S liners in C’s looks. Forced quite a few purches @ the recent extra points promo. Too bad those don’t turn into points towards levels. Love free shipping. Eccentric Diva is lovely on Christine (+ not bad on me, either.) Get it; it’s useful.
I don’t like any of these individually, but I really love the look you made with all 3 of them.
They’re one of those rare products that almost always looks better applied than swatched to me.
These built up nicely on the eyes because the swatches did not look promising.
They really didn’t even need building! The right swatch is deliberately sheered out, just as a FYI 🙂
I love sunset, but wish it performed a little better… still, it looks buildable
I wish the shimmer was a bit finer!
I hear you and thanks for that excellent point.. You are a lot younger and the heavy shimmer does raise some eyelid texture on you. Thinking about my 52 year old lids..I think this will be a definite pass.
Love the eye look! I can see where the yellow is bunching though. Are these really limited?! Whaat? I’m going to try to get the last two. Are there any other LE one coming out that you are aware of?
Not that I know of – think it’s just these three!
The swatches look disappointing but the look shows up really well on you. Also, that is such a pretty eye look!
They’re one of the rare products that seems to work better when I apply to the eye vs. swatch! I think it’s due to it being so liquid-y.
Zenith is too OTT glittery for me, but Sunrise is really gorgeous, and I don’t even like orange shadows. And I’m really impressed these last 12-14 hours without primer!
These wear quite nicely!
Christine, that is one of the most stunning and perfect eye looks I have ever seen! Thankfully, I do have dupes across 2 UD Vice palettes, so I’ll do this look myself for sure. Reminds me of the beautiful AZ sunsets that we enjoy during summer monsoon season!
I was just in AZ a few weeks ago! Watched a beaute of a lightning storm — far from it but it lit up the sky!
Back on July 31st, we had an EPIC lightning storm! It happened on the day I was down at Tempe Marketplace JCP Sephora buying my Naked Smoky, afterwards, I came very close to getting hit by lightning while waiting for my bus!!! Threw my umbrella down, did the squat thing they say to do, and kept my purse with the palette inside tucked into my belly; I was scared quite literally witless!!! Or something that rhymes with it!
I think it was on the 27th or 28th (evening) of July that we saw one!
So glad you were OK!
We had some CRAZY lightning here in CA a week ago, and it was sooo nuts!
There was another pretty bad one around then too ( 27th? I think) , but thankfully I was indoors for that one. We had another very severe one just this Tuesday night!
Thanks, Christine, so am I, because lightning hit cars in that parking lot!
CA has also been getting some nasty storms, too! I heard that the Monsoon moisture has drifted waaay over there! It’s been a wild n crazy summer!
Gorgeous colors. I love the eye look you did.
Thanks a lot, Rachel!
You did a gorgeous eye look! I love the liner too. Fall wish list growing 🙂
Thanks a lot, Valerie!
Sunrise! OMG I so want that. Such a gorgeous copper orange, and I think it would go nicely with Rose Ashes, which I already have. I like Sunset also.
Zenith is lovely too, but I know from experience that that type of really yellow gold does not suit me, alas.
It would be gorgeous with Rose Ashes for sure!
Pretty eye look Christine! Ironically I wore the Giorgio Armani eye tint in Senso today. I like that color a lot. I’m planning to get Flannel at the next Sephora sale.
It is SO awesome that GA is now at Sephora for sales, lol!
The eye look you created is gorgeous!!!
Thanks a lot, Pami!
LOVE your eye look, the colors combine so beautifully! The orange and purple are so pretty and those are my two favorite colors!!! I never bought any of the GA eye tints, even though I really wanted several initially. I just couldn’t justify the price in the end. I think if I had a job where I needed my makeup to look good for a substantial length of time, I could definitely justify it. But as it is, I only keep my makeup on for 6 to 8 hours, tops…so really almost all eyeshadows hold up for that long!
It is funny how long-wearing most eyeshadows are on their own (unless you have really oily lids, I would imagine)!
They are all very pretty, aren’t they. Pity Zenith didn’t work out. I do love golden goldy yellowy eyeshadows.
I could see myself getting one or so of these, after the makeup ban is over, of course 🙂
I love how YELLOW! it is, but I wish they went with a finer sparkle/glitter.
Those colours work really well together and your eye look is beautiful. It’s a shame that the gold one was lacking in quality and harder to apply.
Thank you so much, Genevieve!
