Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss
These next four Maybelline Baby Lips Lipglosses ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) are of the cream finish. The gloss is a new formula that’s supposed to be shiny, non-sticky, and hydrating for four hours with twelve shades divided into three finishes. The cream finish doesn’t go on quite as evenly and can pull into lip lines slightly, but the gloss is fairly thin so this isn’t too noticeable. The formula feels lightweight, mostly non-sticky (a very slight tackiness develops after two to three hours of wear), wears for one to three hours, and is comfortable and hydrating. There is a sweet, fruity-floral scent that tastes like perfume-y soap during the entire length of wear; I could taste it just talking to someone, and it ruined anything I ate or drank. They were comfortable to wear, though, and they don’t feel heavy and keep and maintain hydration going for an hour or two after most of the gloss has worn away. The formula is sheer (as it is supposed to be) with a lot of shades looking the same once applied, but they may vary wildly from person to person due to much of it being dependent on your natural lip color.
Maybelline Taupe with Me Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy-orange with warm undertones and a cream finish. (There is nothing taupe-like about this shade.) It had sheer coverage that gave my lips a lighter, slightly warmer appearance without altering the color itself too much. It applied fairly evenly without emphasizing lip lines too noticeably. The gloss lasted for an hour and a half on me, which is short, so reapplication will be a must. Buxom White Russian (P, $19.00) is lighter. MAC Innocent (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Boy Bait (P, $20.00) is darker. MAC On the Scene (LE, $20.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Maybelline Pink-a-boo Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a very pale, milky pink with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer coverage that noticeably lightened the look of my natural lip color and drew out the natural pink tones of it. There was some streaking, but it didn’t pull into lip lines too much. It lasted for two hours on me. Maybelline Pink Pizazz (P, $4.49) is lighter. NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter. Chanel Rose Reve (189) (LE, $29.50) is lighter, brighter. NARS Tasmania (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, warmer. MAC Picture Pink (LE, $15.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Maybelline Life’s a Peach Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, pink-peach with a cream finish. Applied, this didn’t read very peach or warm-toned on me–it actually looked more like a milky, cool-toned pink against my natural lip color, but it will vary depending on what your natural lip actually is. It had semi-sheer coverage that applied evenly but did emphasize lip lines. It wore well for two and a half hours for me. MAC Talk Softly to Me (LE, $15.00) is darker. NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer. Buxom White Russian (P, $19.00) is warmer. Too Faced Naked Dolly (LE, ) is warmer. NARS Tasmania (P, $26.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Flair for Finery (LE, $20.00) is darker. MAC Patience Please (P, $19.50) is more pigmented. Maybelline Passionate Peony (120) (LE, $8.99) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Maybelline Tickled Pink Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light, milky pink with cool undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer coverage that went on somewhat evenly and didn’t emphasize lip lines too noticeably. The gloss was gone after an hour and a half of wear. Maybelline Pink Pizazz (P, $4.49) is lighter. NARS Nucleus (LE, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented, warmer. MAC Wanting More (LE, $15.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. NARS International Velvet (LE, $26.00) is more pigmented, cooler. See comparison swatches/ compare dupes side-by-side.

I think only true Baby Lips fans will want to get the whole collection, because they’re all sooooo subtle and similar… I might pick up one though. Just one 🙂
Very true! You have to be a big fan to get them all, I think – since from a color standpoint, it isn’t necessary!
Skip. They all look the same!
Totally understand!
This swatch session is reminding me of the UD lip glosses one. At least the money is appropriate for this super sheernes.
They are sheer!
Oh no, these are much too sheer for my taste. That along with super short wear-time plus tasting like soap are a no go. However, I have got to tell you how gorgeous your eye look is in these pics!!! Lorac Metals is now talking to me, LoL!
I wish they at least wore longer – they are comfy to wear, but reapplying every hour or two is too much for me!
I hear you, I’m just too lazy for that! Every 3 hrs. minimum for me!
The perfume taste that makes everything taste like soap would make these an F in my book, and again, why come out with 12 “colors” when they are all so clear? More is not better
Yep – I think they could have just done six or so!
I had a feeling these would be sheer but they’re soo sheer that I don’t see the point behind having 12 shades. I guess it’s a novelty thing lol
They really could have pared it down to six!
Even if they were giving those away I wouldn’t want them.
Aw!
Soapy taste is a deal-breaker! Ugh.
Right? 🙁
It’s a shame all the colours look the same on the lips. Would have been great if they were the colour in the packaging x
That would have been fun!
I got Fab and Fuchsia and while it’s not deeply pigmented, thankfully it’s quite a bit more pigmented on me than it is in your swatches. Still, I probably wouldn’t get more than perhaps that iridescent white one.
I don’t mind if they’re sheer, but I wish they had released less since they tend to run together when you have twelve!
Oh no – I agree that they all look alike. Can’t imagine who buys these?
A few are nice to have, but you definitely don’t need all of them!
These all look the same on the lips. Easy pass for me.
Yep, they run together!
That’s a whole lot of nope.
They are definitely not for everyone!
OMG!! I posted on my Instagram saying they smelled like soap and people thought I was crazy. I’m so happy I’m not alone here!!!
Twins!
They all look the same..
Yep, that is their biggest problem really!
They all look the same unfortunately…
They do!
