Round-up: Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick Overview & Thoughts

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) was reformulated this year and launched 29 shades. I’ve reviewed all 27 of the shades I had (a mixture of shades I purchased and press samples), so now it’s time for a recap! In general, the formula glides on and has semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage with light to moderate shine. Most shades have some level of fine, pearl shimmer, with some appearing more frosted and others appearing more luminous without really detectable shimmer particles. The wear time varies, though it tends to be shorter than average (two to three hours), and my experience showed that some were lightly hydrating, others were slightly drying, and then some were neither. My personal favorite was Julia (404) (A-). If you’ve tried the formula, I hope you’ll write a review 🙂

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I have Cecile and Julia from this collection and I quite like them. The wear is of an average hydrating lipstick so I think it’s pretty good. I picked up two neutral shades cause I know that I’ll wear them a lot cause these are more of a treat for me 🙂

Great round-up as always! Like I have mentioned in previous comments,I like this formula. But,I don’t love it. I have a hard time with formulas that are just all over the board. Thankfully, we have such a wonderful beauty blogger in you, Christine. I wound up with Arthur in Julia so far. Teheran and Jean have caught my eye as well. But, I am not sure if I will buy them or not because every time I wear the other two I feel like I am constantly reapplying. I find Bite’s lip primer Too Faced Glossy primer (I prefer this one-glossy finish though) extend the wear very slightly-maybe an 30-60 min. If I wear a lip pencil it helps more. But due to the sheerness, it changes the shade.
