That bronzer looks so much like they stole the “press” from Guerlain’s Cruel Gardenia but put it in a better case! I don’t like warm toned lipsticks but I LOVE the one the model is wearing in that photo. I would actually buy that one if I knew what it was!

I see what you mean about Cruel Gardenia (which I own and love), but I think it’s more that Guerlain’s flower didn’t actually look much like a gardenia. This Chanel bronzer looks very much like a camellia (with more detail than Guerlain’s), which has a lot of history with the brand. I’m tempted, but will wait to see more swatches as I suspect it might be too orange.

I’ve heard the model is wearing Arthur Rouge Coco (permanent, not part of this collection) with Insoumise Rouge Coco Shine.

I agree about Guerlain’s flower not looking like a gardenia – I thought it looked more like a David Austin Rose! But the design of this bronzer looks so much like the Guerlain one that it’s a bit uncanny.

I was thinking the same on the bronzer. What is the deal with all the orange bronzer?! They look like blush almost! So frustating! I have 3 shades of Guerlain Teracotta that I bought during the Sephora sale that I’m boxing back up because I can’t tell the difference between the #2 and # 3. I’m just frustrated. So, I decided to go and see if they could help me decide or I’ll return them all.

Hey Wendy! I just happened to pass right by this promo stand in Nordstrom on my way to Sephora. This bronzer is not orange or yellow at all as far as I can tell! It is like a soft beige. It makes my medium skin look just sunkissed. It is perfect! So georgeous. Not shimmery, just soft and super fine. It is my new HG bronzer to date! I think it would look beautiful on your lighter skin too. Of course, I had to buy it on the spot. I made the rounds at the counter before stumbling upon it. ( I was shocked to see it out actually). The next best thing I could find was actually one in Clinique’s permanent line. I can’t recall the name. The texture does not compare to this. but the shade was less orange/warm, more cool and less than $30. Another option that may work for you ( to light for me) is maybe Lauder’s liquid/gel bronzer. I guess you can mix it I your foundation. It is fairly light and somewhat cooler toned. I found the powders to be a bit warm. I wound up returning #2 in the Guerlain for now( kept #3 and #5). So, what I have(3 shades) gradually go darker. Like, I am going to spent the summer in the Isles, lol. It was a comfort thing, haha. Tom Ford bronzers are on the way. So me and some bronzers will be having some working out to do.Sorry for the long comment..just wanted to let you know..the SA said they had the collection a few weeks they had been selling the bronzer like crazy. who knows though. I think they sometimes tell people that to get you to buy it (of course they do!)…Take care! 🙂

Hey Wendy..me again. I just wanted to clarify. I just got my Chanel bronzer out and swatched it pretty heavy and when I do that,it does have a bit of a peach-ish undertone. It is similar to the #3 Guerlain but lighter. So, you may want to check it out before you buy it if you want absolutely no warmth. I am so Sorry. When I put it on in the store with a fluffy brush, it didn’t show any orange hue that I noticed and I went by the window. It is the least of the orange-ish/yellow-ish I have seen this season. Still my fave. But, I am okay with some warmth in a bronzer. It is warmer than CT filmstar. But,it’s really nice for summer I think. The model has pretty light skin too. Again, So sorry if I caused any problems for you! 🙂

Sorry, a banner from Irish Spring (my bad) that appears on top of the content and there’s no way to close it, only to expand it…

I am in LOVE with the promo pic!!!! GAH!! I want that Rouge Coco – I’m guessing it’s Insoumise?
Sigh, they are SO expensive in Canada now 🙁 I purchased Boy probably 7 years ago and I think it was $35CDN. I looked on the Bay’s website and now they are $42. Definitely a couple week save up and splurge item!! Can’t wait for your review Christine, to see what I can dupe and what I need to save for!!

I have high hopes for this collection! I think I need the highlighter, all of the polishes ( their polishes are so pricey, but the LEs are usually great and in short supply– TF is not the only one who can play that game)
I have a couple of those cool shadow sticks from previous summer collections, they feel as though someone or something has licked your eye lid when applied. Ok, you twisted my arm, Ill probably pick up a couple more and a coco shine and gloss . I tell you, I’ve been saving for this one.
The only thing I am not too sure about are the purple shadow and liner. It does not look like a flattering shade of purple, in my opinion.

This is the first Chanel collection that has excited me since Peter Philips left the brand!

I am holding off on the bronzer since it seems a little orange for me. I picked up the Stylo Eyeshadow in Laurier Rose (on my NC30-ish skin it is more peachy copper metallic than the rose gold I thought it would be, but it is gorgeous) – all the Stylo Eyeshadows swatched amazingly. Also picked up all the Le Vernis – they are very pigmented except Terrana, which needs 3 coats but is the most unique and shifts color in different lighting; Lavanda is a pigmented purple jelly; none of them have dupes in my collection (although there are similar polishes, of course). I’m keeping my eye on swatches of the two nude-y Rouge Coco Shines – I already have plenty of the coral shades from this line. The two Glossimers are pigmented iterations of this formula and the Yeux Stylo Waterproof is on the creamier side of this formula.

Hope you will pick up some of these items to review!

It’s an OK collection. At least there’s some color. I love the model’s eye look in the photo. The Orchidee eyeliner is the standout for me, but I can’t pay that much for an eyeliner.

My Nordstrom already has this collection out. I love most of the products, but I did resist most and only got 2 nail polishes: Lavana and Terrana. I have nothing like either in my collection, and Nordstrom is price matching, so win! Excited to paint my nails with Lavana (reminds me of Grimace from the McDonald’s characters, no?) and the new bright yellow from butter London in Cheers! tomorrow. Spring-y!

I want to copy the eye and lip look, so yes, I’ll be buying once it is available in Canada. To me, the eye application look easy & quick. I don’t think I could pull off the lash look, and I don’t think Chanel mascara would last that long in heat (lounging at the beach). I’ve tried and tested Guerlain double wand mascara and that would work. I would put on a few coats for evening look. I think I would also add a lip pencil. In the summer those Coco Shine and lip gloss would melt, so lip pencil will be required. 🙂
