Tom Ford Spring 2015 Cream Color for Eyes Review, Photos, Swatches

Tom Ford Spring 2015 Cream Color for Eyes ($42.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “smoky grey.” It’s a blackened taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones. The color is complex; more like a melange of black, brown, and gray that sometimes looks grayer and other times looks browner. MAC Trusted Instinct #5 (LE) is grayer, lighter. Make Up For Ever ME624 Black Gold (P, $21.00) is greener, warmer. Make Up For Ever D326 Black Bronze (P, $21.00) is similar. Chanel Tisse Gabrielle #1 (P) is lighter, grayer. Dior Aventure (081) (P, $31.00) is grayer. MAC Legendary Black (DC, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Gold Carbon (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s ridiculously pigmented; like the merest dip of the brush will provide enough product to cover the entire eyelid in an opaque layer of product. The consistency is lightweight, spreadable, and very blendable, so if you wanted a sheerer result, you could achieve it, but it will go on opaque very easily. It dries down to a more powder-like finish, so it doesn’t emphasize the texture of the eyelid at all. This wore well for fourteen hours on me without creasing or fading.

WOW! I love how you mixed the raw jade into it!!! I ordered the cream shadow from BG and looks like i’ll be getting it on Thursday 😀 … I p/o’d Raw Jade and Ripe Plum from TF.com … but haven’t heard when the “official” release date is… do you know Christine? Hope it comes by March 3rd because I’ll be moving from LA to Toronto by then!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has bought these cream colour shadows from TF before…do you remember how much they are in Canada? I just called the counter at Holt Renfrew and they’re claiming they don’t know what the price is…have to wait till the collection gets here in about 2 weeks.

Holy shit, Christine! HR has finally started putting prices on their site! I’d long given up going on their site because it sucked. It still sucks but hey…at least they have prices lol. So to answer your question, yes HR is Canadian. Thank you 🙂

Wow, 14 hours without creasing or fading? I have oily lids that are hooded, so this might be worth the crazy price, and I love how you can go from sheer to opaque.

I absolutely adore this shade and maybe I’ll have to make an effort to get hold of this (no Tom Ford counters anywhere near me). I have several of the dupes but this is looking really special and I love the look/pairing you did with this – I’d never have thought of putting that pale green shade with it. Just so interesting – neutral but with a bit of pizzazz.

Not exactly a color that comes to mind when I think of spring (except for that gross winter-spring transition period ><) but it's very nice! Something I would've assumed was in the permanent range. Which it should be! …actually, now that I think of it, are there ANY Color Creams in the permanent range? I don't think there are and that's definitely a problem that needs to be fixed XP

i was going to get this just because it’s a tom ford cream color-i’m glad it is as great as i thought it would be. i’m so bummed that i only have platinum and spice-i will be getting every one that comes out from now on:) i love how it looks with jade-i might have to throw that into my basket as well.

I wish I didn’t read this. When I first saw this, i said I would pass. Now with the look you created and knowing how much I love Spice, it is very tempting. I love the look you created very beautiful but then again you never fail to impress 🙂

This looks quite similar to Laura Mercier’s caviar stick in Khaki. I like how I can easily blend it with my fingers if I am in a hurry. How does the Tom Ford Cream Color for eyes compare?

Aline Avatar

This has to be one of the most beautiful looks you’ve ever created. I’m definitely getting something from this collection. I have my eye on the plum duo.

so i m thinking of not picking up spice since you mentioned that the color isn’t v unique. i m looking at a 257 dollar potential tom ford purchse so i m looking to cut anyting that i can. as for now.

I have the cognac sable quad. Love it. How does this compare yo Chanel mirifique. I know the color is diff and the texture is diff too. Thing is I used mirifique yesterday and was reminded of how awesome that is. I m quite inclined to buy a backup of mirifique cos the wet look from that is so so amazing and the glitter in that is out of the world.

Yvette Avatar

Hi Christine,

great look you created.

Is the finish of this cream color dry or wet?

How do you compare this with the Platinum and Spice?

Does it warrant a back-up since it is LE ?

Thanks.

Oh my lord…..I LOVE THIS SHADE! It looks like a blackened brown/green color to me. Unfortunately for me, I can’t find Tom Ford in my city. If I could, this would be a daily go-to product for me, especially with 14 hour wear time!

Do you know if the sell platinum anywhere still? I know its older & probably sold out 🙁 I’m SO late to the Tom Ford game!
