Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick
Here are the last three shades of the new Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.). This formula is supposed to have “sheer, pigmented color” with a “high-shine finish” and “buttery-smooth application.” The texture is thicker than traditional lip balm, but it has the “stiffer” feel where it starts to melt upon contact of the lips. It isn’t as thick or as creamy as the original Revolution formula (and obviously, these aren’t as pigmented). The pigmentation is semi-sheer to semi-opaque noticeable translucency but still that “sheer (yet still pigmented!)” color they seemed to be after. I wish I found these hydrating, but they weren’t drying either.
Urban Decay Sheer Slowburn Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer orange-red.” It’s a brightened, orange-red with warm undertones and a light sheen. It had semi-opaque to mostly opaque pigmentation–you can see my lip freckle slightly, but it is one of the more pigmented shades in the range. It has a thinner feel and doesn’t look as “heavy” on in comparison to the original Revolution formula, but it did seem too pigmented relative to the positioning of this formula. It wore well for four and a half hours. MAC 5 Alarm (LE, $16.00) is more muted. MAC Fashion Trip (LE, $22.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Grandifolia (LE, $28.00) is more opaque. Estee Lauder Envious (P, $30.00) is more opaque, less shiny. MAC Cherry Glaze (LE, $20.00) is similar. Givenchy Carmin Escarpin (306) (P, $36.00) is more opaque, brighter. Maybelline Infra-red (LE, $7.49) is darker. Guerlain Gilda (P, $51.00) is more shimmery, brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Urban Decay Sheer F-Bomb Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer red.” It’s a muted, pinky-red with subtle cool undertones and a light shine. It looked almost warm-toned against my skin tone, but I think it will lean pinker on cooler complexions. It had semi-opaque color payoff that covered evenly for the most part and glided on easily. The color wore well for five hours on me. Burberry Oxblood No. 214 (P, $33.00) is warmer. MAC Red Necessity (LE, $20.00) is cooler-toned. Revlon Provocateur (135) (P, $8.99) is lighter. MAC Prepare for Pleasure (LE, $16.00) is less glossy. Buxom Scoundrel (P, $21.00) is brighter, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Urban Decay Sheer Shame Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer berry.” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned berry red with a light shine. It had semi-opaque color payoff, but it applied unevenly and looked splotchy at times. It wore well for four and a half hours. Givenchy Framboise Velours (315) (LE, $36.00) is more opaque, less glossy. MAC Splurge (LE, $22.00) is cooler-toned. Chanel Emotion (92) (LE, $35.00) is lighter. Estee Lauder Insolent Plum (P, $30.00) is darker. MAC Commotion (LE, $20.00) is cooler-toned. Revlon Plum Velour (P, $7.99) is cooler-toned. Marc Jacobs Beauty Seduce Me (128) (P, $30.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Wow these don’t even seem sheer at all, actually… I thought they would be like the lip butters earlier but they’re not as pigmented as these. These actually seem more like YSL Rouge Volupte Shine… which I like VERY MUCH!
That’s great news 🙂
I’m liking Shame!
Yay!
Haha, I need Sheer F-bomb, just because 🙂 And it helps that it looks pretty, too.
🙂
As much as I’m generally a fan of the UD Revolution lipsticks, and of this new line, releasing a shade called ‘Shame’ was kind of tempting fate to begin with – now tha they released ‘Sheer Shame’, I feel like I can hear Fate cackling with absolute glee somewhere 😉 Of all the shades to release in sheer format, the already-patchy one would not have been my pick, LOL! Should have done Sheer Venom instead!
The pigmentation is indeed very impressive on some of these (for ‘sheer’ shades)! I’m glad, because when I first saw the promo image for the line, I was all ‘please, UD, don’t do the Too Faced/Benefit thing and release nearly identical, almost colourless ‘balms’!!!;
LOL! I had similar thoughts when I was going through the names, haha!
All of these look nice on you!
Thank you, Katherine!
Girl, you are on it! busting these out today!lol..I like these…particularly Slowburn and F- bomb..I wish the berry shade would have performed better! Do you think these darker shades are good to go without a liner? I am thinking summer days makeup already,lol..sigh.
I rarely wear lip liner, so for me these were fine without (no feathering/bleeding) 🙂
Yeah!:)
These look much better colours – a bit stronger and bolder. They certainly suit you Christine.
I like all of them but Sheer F-Bomb is my favorite out of these 3.
These actually have very nice pigmentation. I think they look great.
Look much like Dior’s “Rouge Dior Baume”, (the replacement of the discontinued Rouge Serum Dior).
Even the slimy packaging. Pretty colors and good opacity for 1 & 2.
(I don’t mention Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine, they are truly pretty sheer.)
Happy New Year Christine !
Xoxo

I’m quite digging Slowburn though I highly doubt, no, I’m certain I will not purchase any of these.
Your skin looks flawless! I wish I had your beautiful skin! And thank you for all the reviews and the obvious hard work and dedication you put into it. I always check your reviews before I decide to buy new beauty products.
Slowburn is stunning.. such a delightful shade.. Closely followed by F-Bomb!!
Loved the formula and creamy shine.. 🙂
I really do like all three of these shades. I’m afraid the more I see…the more I’m going to want to buy all of them.
Now these are beautiful! I love how Shame and Slowburn looks on you
