Marc Jacobs Beauty G*psy (204) Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl ($28.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft burnt orange.” It’s a brightened, tangerine orange with warm, yellow undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had fairly opaque color coverage, but it applied oddly–the color “bubbled” all over, so it looked a little odd. It was more noticeable to me when I was applying it than it seems to look in photos, but you can see that the color on the upper lip isn’t really smooth or opaque all-over. The consistency is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and mostly non-sticky, but the way it applied left something to be desired. It wore well for four and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating. It is mint-scented and had a slightly minty-taste, but it didn’t bother my lips. The opacity of the color made it more unique. MAC Grand Pumpkin (LE, $15.00) is sheerer. NYX Cherry Cheesecake (P, $5.00) is sheerer. NARS Wonder (P, $26.00) is darker. MAC Eclectic Edge (LE, $15.00) is darker, more shimmery. Guerlain Tangerine Vlam (P, $30.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Fame (206) Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl ($28.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “raspberry red.” It’s a muted, warm reddish-plum with a creamy, glossy finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that went on beautifully–I think you can see the difference between the two shades when it comes to how even the color applied. This shade wore well for five hours and was hydrating while worn. Nothing I could think of that was a gloss came that close. Chanel Audace (20) (P, $34.00) is browner, less pink. MAC Ruby (LE, $20.00) is cooler-toned, sheerer. MAC Sultana (LE, $20.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Oh my goodness, Fame is absolutely beautiful. I rarely wear lip glosses and I’ve never bought a designer brand product before, but this may have to be my first. Thankfully it’s not LE. Thanks for the review!

These shades exude fall! I love them! I would absolutely be thrilled for my lips to be a pale orange! As always, you look smokin. Well done! I’d like MJB to make an orange/red/copper/espresso/gold type big palette for eyes.. Bread and butter for blue and green eyes! 😀 I’m guessing we’ll have many lip colors in the Pantone 2015 color: Marsala! Im also thinking that means more colorful jewel gemstone shades because every year we have a bright color, the nude pallettes are massive in numbers.. So perhaps with this teak-y-brown red.. We’ll have the opposite? Or lots of sparkle? *bites nails* O.O Hmmm…

So funny: I have Fame and it’s beautiful, but it wears a little too cool for me day-to-day (though it’s gorgeous with MJ blush in Reckless). I ordered Chanel Audace after your review the other day and…here they are together! The comparison confirms that Audace is going to be PERFECT! 🙂 I can’t wait.

Oh, a warning about those MJ Lip Vinyls: there’s a packaging flaw that can make the gloss seep out from under the cap and get all over the place. I’ve gotten it all over my hands and also the inside of my purse.

I know, right? I’m a regular (aren’t we all?) at my local Sephora and they told me that the Lip Vinyl packaging is a well-known problem and they’ve been expecting new packaging since the launch! If you ever have a problem with it, they’ll return it on the spot, with or without the box or receipt. I’ve been careful to wipe the outside off every time I use it—that plummy Fame definitely stains!

And thanks! I think Audace is coming today…

Hi Christine, you look absolutely stunning! Normally I don’t like orange lipstick/lipgloss but Gypsy looks amazing on your lips! Also I really love your earrings, where did you get them from? Thank you 🙂
