5 Silver Eyeshadows to Try This Winter Season

It’s getting colder in my part of the world, though hardly cold (to anyone but a Californian, that is), but with the thought of chilly days, I’m reminded me of the upcoming wintry months. How about a look at some fun shades of silver? I wanted to curate a range from light and bright to darker, moodier silvers (that almost look gray).

  1. Inglot #447 — a bright, metallic silver
  2. NARS Interstellar — a cream eyeliner/eyeshadow in silver
  3. Make Up For Ever ME 116 — a light-medium silver
  4. Makeup Geek Mercury — a bluish-silver-gray
  5. Urban Decay S&M — a dark, silvery gray

By the way, are there any lists you’d love to see created?

I heard THAT!
I love silver and gray shadows, but for some bizarre reason it’s very difficult to find grays that look gray, not blue, not green, not white, or not too brown on me.
I’m NW15, but find that I usually prefer “dirty” grays, like Inglot M349, MAC Copperplate, Sephora City Fog, or Cargo Yukon

Carla I am a NW15 as well and I agree, it is hard to find greys that look greys. Some suggestions: Estee Lauder’s Film Noir has some very good tonal greys in the palette. I also like Dior’s Gris-Gris – but it does have a baby blue in one of the shades – but the rest are lovely. Another good set of greys is in the Sleek eyeshadow palette of Bad Girl.

UD makes really nice eyeshadows…….pigmented, variety of colors, reasonably priced…. I like tem better than Mac or the high end brands. Eyeshadows are the only thing I buy from UD? Wish it have better holders……so bulky and cheap looking tin. SnM is a classic.

I like silver, because it seems to harmonize with my natural coloring, as well as with the colors I wear best/most often. I prefer a true silver, as opposed to one that will “read” blue on me.
My current favorites are UD “Vapor” and some Inglot shade whose number I can’t remember.
I particularly like to combine a true silver shadow with a deep red lip for the fall/winter/Christmas season.

Wonderful shades of silver ! But none of them have a matte or a satin finish. Any ideas for silver es that wouldn’t catch the wrinkles of my 46 year old eyes.?!

The only true “silver” shadows I recall having all came in palettes and, oddly enough, all are by TooFaced – Ooh and Aah, and from the newer Smokey Eye palette, In a Flash and Nice Ash (the last one being my fave – it’s more a darker silvery-grey). I have UD Mushroom and love it but I consider it more of a Taupe. Stila Cloud is another shadow I like a lot but, again, I’m not sure if it’s actually “silver” or more of a silvery-taupe.

These are beautiful silver shades! I’m Really digging the Nar’s as it reminds me of that Armani Merallic Liner, which I forgot the name of snd can’t find! 🙁 Do you recall it? I’m so pale, I’ve found frosty flashy whites work best as silver on me! My all time favorite came from Lancome in a small plastic jar with lid and the words are worn off, but I think it was a star powder? In Silver, most likely. It’s quite old but remains wonderful! Softer than pigments, but basically the same idea! 😀

Would love to see a list of: mauvey lipsticks/lipglosses/blushes, bronzey blushes/eyeshadows/lipsticks/lipglosses, finishing powders/setting powders…adore your recs, Christine!

Love Grey’s but they are very difficult because of undertones. Tried to.paint my house a clear grey. Tried 20+ colors but never hit it right. Happy with my choice but wasn’t my original plan. Grey may be the toughest color there is but so many beauties.
