I’m surprised that the set with the oil, eye cream and cheek stain is only $19 if these are truly “deluxe sizes” – are they larger than the regular ones or has “deluxe” somehow become a euphemism for “mini” or “sample”? I recently bought just the eye cream and it was a whole lot more than $19 all on its own!

Mariella Avatar

Okay, not blocked now. Wonder if it’s because I used the word “crummy” about the use of “deluxe” which, I think, most people would interpret to mean bonus sized, not a large sample or mini size. Let’s see if this posts….

Christine, it’s not something I’d ever seen before and I’m trying to remember what the screen said but there was a BIG RED X and 2 boxes, one saying I was blocked and the other saying to email temptalia to clear up whatever the problem might be. I shut down the site and then came back and the same thing happened but only with that message and only in this “thread” – I was fine everywhere else and even here, when I changed the wording of my message. Weird, hunh?

Mariella Avatar

Christine, I don’t see a reply button under your thread. I’m trying to remember but I started out on this page, making my comment and then when I hit “post comment” the page appeared and seemed to have similar font and style to the Temptalia site. It was very odd and there seemed to be no getting around it. Like I said, I even shut down the site and reopened it (having copied my reply) and when I pasted it back into the comment box upon opening the site again, I got the same message. It’s never happened before and I imagine (hope) it won’t happen again!

It’s there now 🙂

I picked up the lip set yesterday at Sephora and I was a little underwhelmed. Lots of nude/neutral shades that don’t have a ton of color payoff, at least on me. It’s an amazing value but I own so many Lipsurgences already, I think this might have to go back to the store.

Ooh, a few interesting things here. I like the idea of the lip set (mostly because I like lipsticks far too much) but I think some of their products are plumping, no? Tingle-based plumping and my lips have kind of a bad relationship 😛 The eyeliner set looks nice, but I have to say the ting that caught my eye most was the brush set… I have no idea what Tarte brushes are like though!

Kaitlyn Avatar

Tarte Brushes are actually fantastic! I won’t be buying this set because there is only one brush in it that I don’t have.. I don’t have any truly HE brushes to compare them to, but they blow sigma brushes out of the water! I also like them slightly better than my real techniques or ecotools brushes. I would even venture to say, aside from basic lid brushes, I like Tarte brushes better than my sonia kashuk ones! They are synthetic, but to me, they feel more like real hair. The only thing to be aware of is that the huge brush in the set takes a very (VERY) long time to dry.

Margi Avatar

Agh! Darn it. I thought Tarte would come up with something similar to the Off the Cuff blush palette like last year. I’m so sad! It would have been perfect for traveling. Guess I’ll be investing in the UD Vice 3 instead.

Madelyn Avatar

I am trying to decide if I want the blushes, but I am getting all the lip sets. I can’t say no to a great lip set and I like the colors this year. I love this formula. I am going to stop typing and go order. 🙂

NelleShoeGirl Avatar

My immediate reaction is: I need the blush set! But honestly, I feel like Tarte keeps releasing the same (or very, very, similar) shades and just slaps a different name on them. I might actually be able to convince myself to pass on the set this year. 🙂

Kaitlyn Avatar

I was thinking the same thing! It’s not that I don’t love the colors, but I can’t tell how similar they are to my mini blushes from the past 2 years… Then again, they’re mini blushes and I have a weakness for the cute factor that ‘mini’ items possess.

Sarah Avatar

OH I was dreaming of Tarte holiday stuff and here it is! I am in love with the blushes, it’s the only blush I’ve hit pan on and I’ll be getting it once it comes out! Love Tarte 🙂

Rachel R. Avatar

Love the blushes. I’m wondering how much product is in them. I’ll have to check these out. I want the eyeliners, too. I’m disappointed there are no eyeshadows. A palette for the holidays would have been nice.

Brenda Avatar

Doesn’t seem as good as past holiday releases – and deluxe size?? Once I saw the pictures I felt mislead with the use of “deluxe” 🙁 ….although the Maracuja set for $19 did tip me off…

Kyle Avatar

I don’t think this is tartes full holiday collection, just more of a pre holiday collection. You know they are going to release eyeshadow palettes and they have already leaked pictures of the second blush palette…. I just ordered the mini blushes and to get free shipping added the $5 lip set. Can’t beat the price, I never go thru a whole blush, less storage space and more colors for a much better price. Hope their aren’t any repeats on the new blush palette with these shades….

Fae Avatar

I want to order the blush set, but I don’t know how pigmented it will be on my skin tone. I’ve seen a teaser photo online of a Tarte blush palette. I’m thinking it might be a Sephora or Ulta exclusive.
