What was the last beauty product you missed getting?

What was the last beauty product you missed getting? Do you still look for it or are you over it?

Chanel’s limited edition Tisse Poesie, since I didn’t pick it up, but I don’t regret it too much.

I’m kind of sad I didn’t pick up a ton of Illamasqua lipsticks and polishes before Sephora and Bloomingdales stopped carrying them. Now if i want it I have to spend $15 for shipping.

MAC’s That Trillion Dollar Look quad. It’s still available, but given the price and my [un]employment status, it’s probably not going to happen.

It would be more of the eyeshadows from the Alluring Aquatics collection from MAC. I got Sea Worship and then went back to get either Legendary Lure, Fathoms Deep or Soul Serenade but they were all sold out (this is a day later!) – all they had left was the silver one that I didn’t like (interestingly, it’s also the one that didn’t sell out online either for weeks or possibly months!)

The Chanel Dentelle Precieuse highlight. By the time I decided it was worth the splurge it disappeared from Nordstrom. Guess that was a sign lol

Er, well, based on the things that pop up on this blog, there are too many to list, LOL! But that’s mostly because stuff is expensive or hard to get here 😉 I certainly know that I was disappointed not to even get to have a look at the MAC Alluring Aquatic collection’s lipstick packaging, as pretty much everything sold out before I even saw it. I may not buy MAC< but that collection really was super pretty…

A bunch of limited edition MAC lipsticks. I won’t buy a product until I’ve read reviews, which is almost always too late for MAC LE

The Laura Mercier Artist Palette Holiday 2013. I didn’t find out about it until after the fact (I have no idea how I missed it). I searched for it on-line for a few months afterwards, but when prices were hitting $300+ on eBay, I gave up looking for it. I may buy too many eye shadow palettes, but I am not insane enough to pay a ridiculous amount of money for one. It is just make up after all.

I was able to pick up Poésie online from Hudson’s Bay/ The Bay in Canada! I also got a lot of Illamasqua polishes & blushes on sale, and when I tried to get Venous it said it was discontinued. I also checked the Illamasqua site and sure enough Venous was discontinued on there too! I wonder if they’ll be discontinuing more, since it seemed like a big clear out.

Hey Maddie: I thought I would be crazy over Jardin Perdu, and yet I find myself happier with the Dolomites duo. It’s the lightest shade of the pair..looks soooo pretty and lively on the eyelid..it’s like a warm pink with a hint of mauve of something. Really unique to my stash. I don’t feel the same excitement over the JP duo at all. I’m NC20ish..neutral.. thought the JP would work better since I’m not a huge fan of warmer toned eyeshadows in general, so I surprised myself there.

Unless you’re super-excited about the silvery shade, you can always just nab Kauai down the road. The purples are almost too similar to justify both, unless you’re insane and have to have every NARS duo that catches your eye (like I am, LOL!). Another option would be to stalk eBay-chances are good it’ll end up there, and at a good price! I’m just addicted to NARS *and* purple eyeshadow, so I grabbed it immediately. However, there are quite a few I wasn’t too eager to pay full price for, but ended up paying 1/2 retail, even LE/DCd shades.

OK, so I was very bad, and I bought a bunch of stuff at Barneys New York to get their yearly beauty bag full of samples… I got the Jardin Perdu this morning, because it’s limited edition. The reason why I didn’t get Dolomites is because Kevin Aucoin launched a duo with sorta similar colors and I’m getting that one instead. Its the eyeshadow duo in 216 – Lilac/Bloodroses. OMG! *_*

I’m waiting for Jardin Perdu to arrive at Sephora (the only place I can get Nars). They’ve put me on their call list but maybe I need to phone them to see if maybe it’s come in and they’ve missed calling me. I have Kauai but I at least have to check out Jardin Perdu because the silvery side did look so gorgeous and it’s listed as a dupe for Modern Pewter, which I couldn’t get as it was sold out almost instantly.

I don’t know about Canada, but the Sephora’s down here haven’t been getting in alot of pieces from the last few NARS collections, and they never showed up online, either. NARS site ships to Canada, though! I think they just started fairly recently, but whenever I peek at the site, there’s a banner at the top of the screen. As I stated above, alot of NARS products end up on eBay, brand new, although sometimes they’re “testers”, but for 1/2 the price.

Actually, my biggest regret is the Sephora Storylook Palette Vol. 3 (Ariel palette). I collect palettes sometimes, and I have the first two, so it makes me sick that my collection is incomplete *sobs*

I’ve never felt like I’ve missed out on a particular beauty product. As the old saying goes, “Tomorrow’s another day!” and so there will always be something new and beautiful on the horizon.

I might have missed out on Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick in Poe. Your review was great! I’m not familiar with Sephora’s restock patterns, and I’m sure as heck not spending double the price in evilBay. I love ebay for many things, but hate the product scalpers. Maybe Poe might not be sold out if resellers hadn’t bought so many to resell.

Sephora will restock, so definitely wait it out. Or, if you have access to an actual store, use the “Find In Store” feature on the site, and see if a local store has it in stock. Just because its sold out online doesn’t mean stores are sold out. HTH

I was lamenting not acting sooner to grab NARS Belly Dance, but after patiently stalking eBay for nearly 2 years, it eventually showed up, and at a decent price! The same went for MAC Taupe Shape. However, I’m still trying to nab NARS Santorini, and would be willing to pay quite a bit more…

I am waiting for Tom Ford Nude Dip to be delivered today! After stalking Nordie’s website, I found it one night and snapped it up. 30 minutes later , it had disappeared from the site. For me, Chantecaille’s Sea Turtle Palette is the one that got away. I couldn’t justify dropping the cash on it at the time, but seeing it offered on E bay once in a while for steeper prices, I wish I would have splurged on it when it came out!

MAC Itchy and Scratchy and Sexy and MAC Enchanted One. I’m not really broken up about missing either, but I did want them. I’ve heard people say Enchanted One is close enough to Kinda Sexy that it’s not really the end of the world, and Itchy and Scratchy I wanted more for the theme and name. I love purples, but it actually looks like a weak color compared to others.

I missed out on that release too – the nearest Guerlain counter is 2 hours away and they were all sold out by the time I got there. Then I found one in March this year in an Australian duty free store – score! I missed out on the Gladys Rouge G though, I really wanted that one 🙁

Er… the only thing I can think of is Urban Decay 15th anniversary palette, so that’s really old!!

Lately I’ve come to realize that I don’t NEED all the new shiny LE products and that focusing on products that really work for me is a better idea. I still get excited by new collections and I often go check them out/swatch them but I’m ok to let them go.

I am really upset about missing the Osbourne’s Collection from MAC. I still think about it daily and hope to one day stumble upon a couple pieces.

And the biggest miss out for me is Guerlain Crazy Meteorites Radiance Powder from holiday 2013. I waited too long to think about it and everywhere I looked was sold out. I still wish that I will stumble across one one day, but know I won’t.

The Amrezy Palette. I went back and forth for so long about whether or not I should get it. And when I finally made the decision, it was gone. XD I still kinda want it. But I’ll deal. I don’t feel like paying extra to get it from Amazon or eBay.

I AM currently missing out on the Artificially Wild & A Novel Romance collections by MAC.. which is enormously sad, since they’re the first two collections I get excited about from MAC in a very long time.. but I’m too broke to order any of the 2 items (even though they’re so few!!!) I would like to get!

Mac’s shop cook, Heatherette and Barbie collection. With all things girly, those two collections were too cute to resist. Unfortunately, they happened way before I was makeup savvy.
