Cle de Peau Delicate Pink (14) Luminizing Face Enhancer Review, Photos, Swatches
Clé de Peau Delicate Pink (14) Luminizing Face Enhancer
Clé de Peau Delicate Pink (14) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a pale, pink-tinged beige with a warm, golden champagne shimmer. Cle de Peau Pastel (11) (P, $55.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery. Urban Decay Highlighter (P) is warmer. NARS Devotee (LE, $29.00) is warmer. Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder (LE, $68.00) is slightly warmer. Chanel Beiges Ombres Tissees (LE, $75.00) is darker, pinker, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
This shade seemed to be the most shimmery out of the four variations available, though it still applied with a soft, noticeable glowing sheen–luminous but not metallic or glittery on the skin, so it didn’t emphasize pores for me. The powder has a soft, finely-milled, silky texture that sits well on skin and is easily blended/sheered out, though it is fairly pigmented. It’s forgiving, so it doesn’t feel like you have to be careful when applying it, but you don’t need a lot to get a luminous sheen. On me, this highlighter lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly.

This range of highlight powders has been so stellar. Every one of them so far has looked really beautiful on you. I actually just ordered Pastel this weekend. This one, I am not favouring on you though. Not bad 3 out of 4 so far. I think this might suit light cool leaning skintones a bit better, or maybe it’s just the heavier shimmer which is detracting me.
Pastel seems to be the coolest, followed by this one – there’s definitely a “delicate pink” in it. Sand Beige is my personal favorite, since it’s very my-skin-but-better–a smidgen of warmth but mostly glow.
Ah these are all stunning, both applied and in the pan! I would pick one up, but I have endless amounts of highlighters, and I don’t use them everyday ha.
Lurve a good highlighter! It’s one of my favorite products to apply for some reason. I think it’s because of catching glimpses of the glow in the mirror throughout the day makes me smile.
I think I like this one the most, the other seem more shimmery somehow.. a little pink in the mix can do wonders!
Interesting! I felt like this one was more shimmery!
I love them all but if you had to choose the most universally flattering for NC-15-20 skintone which would you choose (between #11 and 14) for that overall highlighter glow. I was leaning towards #14 but after your review, perhaps i should consider #11?
If you want a lil’ color, #14. If you just want glow, #11!
11 it is! Thanks Christine.
I actually don’t like this one as much as the others!
Same!
Its pretty but I like the other shades more! Love MAC Plum Dandy lipstick on you! Is it LE?
It’s permanent!
This one is probably a bit too cool/icy for me, but still, I think it looks lovely on you!
Thank you!
I’m glad to see you getting around to reviewing these beauties, Christine. I think a lot of women shy away from CdP because they think it’s budget breaking, but $55 (refill) for a product of such high quality is not unreasonable at all. I do own one of the gorgeous cases for when I travel and to use as an evening compact, but day in; day out, the sturdy plastic packaging actually works better since I keep my makeup organized in drawers at home.
I bought Pastel and Gold two years ago and since then have added Sand Beige and Delicate Pink. Because CdP’s target demographic is the more mature woman, these highlighters were designed to impart luminescence rather than any overt sparkle. If you’re close enough to see glitter rather than glow, you’re entirely too close! LOL
In general, I like to apply them in the classic “C” formation which emphasizes my eyes and cheekbones. It gives a subtle lift to my features which I find flattering. Since I’m NC15, each shade looks distinctly different on me. Delicate Pink is my go-to for winter into spring; Sand Beige is my summer into early fall shade. I use Pastel and Gold more for evening or festive occasions although Pastel does look stunning on a misty, cold day–very Ice Princess. CdP could release one of these every year and I’d be sure to scoop it up 🙂
It’s nice that they even offer refills/pans, because most brands don’t, let alone luxury priced ones like CdP. It at least makes it more viable for someone who can’t or won’t spend $95++ on a highlighter. ($55 is still a chunk of change, don’t get me wrong!)
I’ll be passing on this one, but I’m definitely going to get the Pastel one!
Yay!!
I love this shade but to me is seams less shimmer then Cle de Peau Pastel (11) tpo me but probably because it blends into your skin tone more.
Definitely a possibility!
I just may have to indulge… I love this one, and Pastel, so I’ll probably pick up both-but only one compact, LOL!
It is funny when you see the price of packaging, because then you really have to love it to pay for it, lol!
I’m not sure if I like this or Pastel better. Will have to mull.
Let me know if you get either 🙂
Ack – these are such pretty pans of shimmer! I think my favourite so far was the pastel one (for me) and the Sand (?) one on you though. This one is kind of a little bit in the ‘meh’ zone between the other two…
Sand Beige has my heart <3
This entire range looks amazing so far! I just wished it wasn’t that expensive – I am already dying to collect 3/4 already!
I hear ya! They are a pricey brand to love.
Give me allllll the CdP highlighters, Christine. If I can’t own ’em, at least I can ogle them. 😛
That’s what blogs are for, LOL! To drool without buying.
Oh no! Now I don’t know which one I want. I think, though, if I do get one, it will have to be Pastel – it still has my heart. 🙂
I think Pastel is a good pick!
I actually love all of these on you! This one is pretty but I do like the warmer ones better.
Which is your favorite?
UNICORN
🙂
These are so pretty. I love this one and pastel the best. This one doesnt seem as shimmery. I love a bit of pink in my highlighters
I love Pastel more than I thought I would!
I so want one of these. Will have to go back and check to try to decide on just one. Then I’ll add it to my long want list.I think getting a CdP highlighter is better than buying a LE of Dior od YSL, at least this fall, when I don’t much dare for either.
I just wish we had CdP here. I’m guessing I’ll have to order from Nordstrom or Barneys or someplace like that.
It’ll have to wait a while as there are a lot of bills right now, and emergency vet wasn’t cheap.
Hope your pet is feeling better!
He is, thank you!
He is his usual playful (when he wants to), stubborn, loving, hungry self again. I hate when dogs, or any other pet gets sick. The worry!
This time at least I knew why he was sick. Dead bird, not eaten, just held, but that was enough.
I’m sure Mellan would never even think of doing such a disgusting thing.
I’m sure he would, LOL!
Glad he is okay 🙂
