MAC Pedro Lourenço Collection
MAC x Pedro Lourenço Collection launches online May 29th and in selected stores on June 5th (I don’t have a list of which locations). Select international locations will see it released sometime in June. I had serious issues with the texture of the Blush Duo, which made it nearly impossible to use, but the eyeshadow quad was really easy to use and lovely overall, even if it is dupable and contains two permanent shades (so your mileage may vary–it’s not really a must-have, but it is high quality).
BEST PERFORMING: Nude (A), Ruby (A), True Red (A)
WORST PERFORMING: Corol (F)
MOST UNIQUE: Mirror (B+)
PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS: Mirror (B+)
I was intrigued by this collection when word first popped up, but after your reviews, I think it’ll just be Mirror lipglass for me! 🙁

Mirror would definitely be my pick, too! SUCH a shame about the blush though – it looked so pretty and sophisticated… 🙁

You know I poo-poo’d this, but it’s not that bad! The lip glasses are bootiful. 😀
Aside from the blush, it’s a nice set of products! Several shades are dupable, so it’ll just depend on whether you have similar shades or not!

I think this is a nice collection, but the only thing that is really calling to me is Roxo lipstick.

The fact that Corol was a complete fail surprised me a lot as it was one that I had my sights on. Definitely going to have to give your recc’s a try 🙂

Mac did a really good job at making the packaging of this collection look very luxurious. Sometimes they’re packing in collections may not be even worth the raised price due to the limited edition packaging, especially if the shade is already in the permanent line. So it’s amazing when they come out with stunning ones like this that make it more reasonable for the few extra bucks.

Christine, does Corol list bismuth oxychloride in the ingredients?
I didn’t have the ingredient list, as it was sample packaging!
MAC latest collection all failed to excite me. I don’t really see the point when a few products are as bad as this blush and most of the colors are so easily dupable. I looked at Peach Beige and immediately thought of a thousand shades that look pretty much alike. Revamping colors to sell with different names seem to be the head strategy here and I don’t like that. Plus it’s not like the products are getting any cheaper collection after collection. But people are so easily aroused by a big or fancy name endorsing products that it gets easy to launch poor quality or repetitive products and achieve commercial success. Shame.
The bigger your stash or the longer you’ve collecting, I think it is harder to find unique shades!
The quad is calling my name, just have to make sure I don’t have sable in my collection, I just ran out of all that glitters!

Christine, I may have totally ignored your review (for once) and just ordered Corol. I really hope the press samples were just a fluke. I’ll make sure to update you once it gets here and give my verdict.
Keep me posted! MAC has had consistency problems in the past – I also ordered one online this morning and will see for myself as well.

Is this collection exclusive to Mac stores or will MAC counters at the department stores also get it?
It’s mostly online at maccosmetics.com; only select stores are getting this, but I wasn’t given a list of which ones.

I love the fact that I find most of the stuff very office-friendly, and I’m also loving the packaging. The colors are nice, is true that they’re not very unique, but I’m still seriously tempted by the eye shadows.
The quad is nice!
