Golds/medium bronzes – they’re easy to wear as a single color or incorporated with a darker bronze or taupe.

Brown, purple, blue.
Fisrt of all, browns.
Then golds and taupes. 🙂
Champagnes and Taupes basically the same idea as yours but cooler colors because I’m cooler toned.
I don’t even know. My eye makeup changes all the time.
I’m the same as you Christine. Definitely golds and light tans.
Taupe, gold, bronze, rose gold, pale light gold for highlight. oh and cant forget copper.
Shiny taupe!
Light beige/pinks (like urban decay WOS and bootycall) and golds (like half baked and ydk). I tend to wear bright/deep lip colors, so I like to keep my eyes neutral.
Purply taupes
Definitely beige, or gold beige, works great with my brown eyes, medium skin, and perfect for any occasion.
Cream eyeshadows that are a soft color withsome metallic sheen, or even sparkle (depending on the look). My favorites are Rubenesque (MAC Paint Pot), Holy Smokes! (Benefit) and Chilled on Ice (MAC, if worked right). I also love taupe eyeshadows, like Maybelline Tough as Taupe.
For a pop of color, any bright color is okay, but I love matte brights like Surfin’ USA (Sephora Collection) and Banana Split (Sephora Collection)
Browns, Bronzes and Taupes!
Uh, what’s the name for champagne but darker? It escapes me but that’s it. Not gold, just dark champagne. :-/ hmmm….
Shimmering beiges or anything taupe. They look good against my skintone and can easily be played up with a bit of color or some black liner for a statement evening look.
Beiges, bronzes, and taupes.
Olives.
I have very pale yet olive skintone, so olives look very neutral on me (I believe that more neutral than beiges or browns). I love olive shades on their own, e.g. for business look, or I combine them with any other colour (blue, violet, eggplant, grey, champagne, …).
Matte greys. Sooooo hard to find though! Actually, any suggestion is very much appreciated! 😀
try revlons single eyeshadow link in “greige” only 2.99
L’oreal’s Smoky Grey from the Infallible line is pretty good. NARS also has Namibia and 413BLKR, both of which are lovely.
Thanks a million for helping Veronica! 🙂
No problem!
(Amending my post to fix the original typo – the L’Oreal shade is Sultry Smoke, not Smokey Grey!)
Try some of Bobbie Browns shadows. I know some of her older pallets and singles have a beautiful matte grey. I have several of them, however they were purchased several years ago (I can’t throw away my makeup!)
Thanks a million for helping Sarah! 🙂
You can’t beat Make Up Geek Stealth at only 6 bucks. I adored Nars Notorious, but it’s d/c’d. Current Nars gray mattes are Namibia, Thunderball, which looks dark and blue-tinged, and Lhasa, which they describe as lavender gray. I doubt Sephora has them all; you might check a Bluemercury, if there’s one near you.
Thanks a million for helping KJH! 🙂
I love greys as well and really like what I find at Meow cosmetics! I have a few and they are so versatile and incredibly pigmented.
MAC matte in Soot 🙂 Scene is a beautiful shade also, though it is a satin eyeshadow. 🙂
NYX mattes
Purple. So much purple.
Whatever I dig out of the Naked 2 palette, usually. So, something in the gold/bronze/silver taupe line. That’s for everyday though. Given a bit more freedom, it’s Violet or turquoise all the way for sure!
I only wear light/pearl colours, beige, pale pink. sometimes dark brown as a liner
Taupes, from brown to grey to plum toned. On their own or with a darker shade (a darker taupe or a cool-toned brown) in the crease, they’re quick and easy and always look good.
Coppers and Bronzes are usually easy to wear for me. Strangely, golds not so much.
Definitely neutrals. Mostly golds and browns
I usually reach for colorful combos .. and currently its teal blue on my list with some cotton pink.. 😀
The most often I use: Beige, brown, gray and silver.
Technically, it’s Inglot 352, my brow highlight color :p
I go for greens such as UD’s Mildew and MAC’s Humid. Perfect everyday colors.
Bronze or taupe. Maybelline Bad To The Bronze is my go-to base colour almost all the time as my weekday makeup is neutral. I just change up the crease colour and eyeliner for variety.
I reach for blue purple green pink (electric palette) and this one rose gold color(liar from naked 3). I love these colors and I think they’re very innovative eyeshadow colors.
Taupes, plums and cool browns 🙂
I typically go for gold, but lately I have been going for a natural, peachy shade. MAC Woodwinked and All That Glitters are basically the two types of shades I reach for.
1=burgandy 2=purple 3=browns
Sheer pearly white or pale pink. I just do a wash over the lid if my eyes need brightening. If I’m going for color I like blues – icy aqua on the lid or a sapphire liner. Looks amazing on brown eyes.
Olive greens look best for my green eyes.
I almost always use champagne colours all over my lid
Bronze & browns shades. Love them!
Taupe! There’s a reason the shade makes up the majority of my eyeshadow collection. It’s an easy-to-wear neutral, and the fact that it’s a mix of brown and grey means that it can work with both cool and warm tones.
Lid- a soft matte peachy color
Transition – a soft matte warm reddish-brown
Brow bone – a matte cream color
Outer v/crease – a deep warm matte brown.
Green! I adore green eyeshadow, at last count I had 23!
Second most often worn is orange/peach. I have a couple that perfectly straddle the line between neutral and bright and they really make my blue eyes pop!
Cool taupes and cool medium browns. No frost, no shimmer…and…horrors..no glitter! Wish I could indulge but I have senior citizen eyelids.
Brown, taupe and black mostly for outer corner or to use as eyeliner.
I love champagnes, taupes and light matte browns. For champagne eyeshadows, one of my favorites is to use a highlighter like the Laura Mercier Highlighter 01 as an eyeshadow/all over lid color. Two birds with one stone!
purple, blues, olives
Urban Decay Mildew is my go-to eye shadow. I love using all kinds of colors and effects so other than that there isn’t really a specific color family I use more often than others. Maybe khaki green.
I like to use a lot of golds or bronzes these days!
Bronze, taupe and grey. Navy for special occasions when I want my brown eyes to pop.
Mainly browns and golds, but my consistent go to color is “Drama” Bare Escentuals.
Reddish browns/pinks/coppers
Matte silvers, grays, blacks and the new one I love (my first Clarins product) Smoky Plum – beautiful
Taupe, dark brown and some sort of neutral highlighter. I get nutty with color only when I’m going out in the evening.
Well let’s just say I reach for my Naked 1 palette almost daily.
Taupe, taupe, taupe. Also, an easy-to-apply purple is my 2nd go-to. I’ll do bronze if it’s within eyeshot and reach!
Gold and purple are my top two. They’re essentials for brown eyed ladies. 😀
Earthy tones of any sort. Note I considers taupe, cream, gold, and browns of any variety earthy. Basically any colors like you’d find in the 4 UD naked palettes and other brands, mainly Mac, Chanel and Dior those same type shades though.
taupes
I love any colors that are made, but I depend heavily on nude to deeper brown colors to emphasize the rainbow. If I want to go one shade, I like the types of colors that are nude or grey with pink, blue or purple duochromes. <3
I love MAC’s Soft Brown in the crease for a quick look with some black eyeliner. It’s pulled together and polished for day or night.
I reach for golds and bronzes too! They’re so perfect on a warm skin tone, and to bring out dark eyes and hair. I’m not an eyeshadow person so I’d only ever use a wash of gold/bronze on my lids, sometimes with a contour colour in the crease, and at other times a matte mid-tone brown when I want my eyes to *really* neutral.
Lately I’ve started to step out of my comfort zone and I’ve been using greens (green, brown and gold together) and I love it! Also, rather than going with a wash of one colour I’ve discovered a wonderful method for blending three colours together. I’m definitely going to experiment more with other combinations.
Whatever is in my bag, lol! Usually I keep a blue, purple/eggplant and black pencil. Also two small Smashbox palettes and Sugarpill Bulletproof.
In the last year, mostly matte browns. I also reach for black, charcoal, shimmering bronze, taupes, and peachy pink. Nothing glittery though.
Browns. I wear neutrals most of the time. I’m very much enjoying my LORAC Pro Palette currently.
Gold/Champagne-ies and taupes or red/pinks! 🙂 They are opulent and natural yet easy to apply, with just enough hint of an edge, that are most appropriate & appealing with my eyes and skin color. 🙂 <3
Woops! I forgot I often just go copper. 😀
Light colors that I can do a wash of. My favorites are Kitten and Cloud, both by Stila!
Tend towards blue and purple
warm or neutral taupes like theBalm ‘selfish’ from the nude’Tude or Urban Decay ‘underground’.
chanel complice eyeshadow
coppers and pinky bronze lately as they really brighten my face. Satiny greys and peach are a staple as well. I find a lot of other cooler colours really wash me out and make me look tired.
yellow lately brings out blue eyes
I’d have to say purple and gold. I do love my purples! 🙂
