5 Shades of Green Eyeshadow

With St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th, there was no way I could miss an opportunity to feature a few of my favorite green eyeshadows! Last week, I featured some bright greens, so this time around, I went for darker, smokier greens.  What are your favorite green eyeshadows?

  1. Urban Decay Bender — a smoky green with a frosted finish
  2. Make Up For Ever #80 — a deep, dark emerald green
  3. Inglot #333 — a medium-dark, warm-toned green with a matte finish
  4. L’Oreal Golden Emerald — a gold-shimmered, forest green
  5. Makeup Geek Dirty Martini — a murky, olive green with a matte finish

I just picked up Bender a couple of days ago! Love the colour, it’s pretty much an exact match to one of my absolute favourite polishes (A England Dragon).

I want to try and pair it with a grayish, maybe blueish shade (the kind I normally find hard to wear on my warm skin) – any suggestions?

Fyrinnae has some AMAZING green loose shadows that I’ve picked up. I can’t wait to put together a look tomorrow for St. Patrick’s Day with them! I’m thinking I’ll use Enchanting Otters, Boot Season, Lucky Charmed and Ethereal Eire.

I actually have 3 out of the 5 on this list! When I do go for color, I generally gravitate toward green and/or purple, but in the last year or so, I’ve discovered I like green & purple *together*.

Just for good measure, though, I’d add NARS Night Porter to the list!

I love pairing L’Oréal Infallibles in Golden Emerald & Perpetual Purple or Smoldering Plum. Another pairing that works is UD Loaded & Omen, Rockstar, or Occupy. I’ve been playing with NARS Nouveau Monde a bit this week, and I’m very happy with it.

I think I became obsessed with the combo when NARS released High Society, but it wasn’t the best quality, so I started to improvise within my stash. Purple & green both flatter brown eyes separately, but the combo is even more flattering!

My favorite green is MAC’s Sumptuous Olive, although it’s not really a green. I also like the green shade in the Nars Earth Angel combo.

My favourite greens on the darker side? Well, I can’t NOT mention Sumptuous Olive from MAC. Others I love are the green side of Hourglass Dune, Inglot 419, All About Alex and Jealous Jordana from TheBalm and I’ve also got to mention MAC’s Bows and Curtseys from the Fashion Flower repromote. The greens in Dior’s Bonne Etoile 5-pan are also outstanding. For someone who doesn’t often wear green, I sure seem to have a lot of green shadows (and I do love them).

Last night, I went with the chartreuse-y shades from the Kat Von D Truth palette, and then I used UD Graffiti as a crease/outer v color.

I haven’t decided yet if I’m actually wearing green eyeshadow tomorrow, though! 😀

I really like Urban Decay Loaded. But now I’m curious about the shadows you’ve shown here, specially the 2 first (UD Bender and MUFE 80). My favorite eyeshadows are the dark greens and dark purples (I’m crazy for “almost-black” colors for eyes and nails), so it’s always good to have some suggestions.
