10 Cream Blushes to Try this Spring
It seems like cream blush is the thing for spring, so here are ten of my favorites! What are your favorite cream blushes to pull out during spring?
- Make Up For Ever #330 — a medium pink with subtle cool undertones
- Illamasqua Peaked — muted, raspberry pink with a satin finish
- Chanel Affinite (65) — brightened, cool-toned pink
- MAC Posey — brightened, pinky-coral
- Illamasqua Seduce –a muted, pinky-plum
- Chanel Inspiration (64) — a light, cool pink
- Make Up For Ever #410 — a medium, coral-orange
- Illamasqua Sleek — medium-dark, coral-brown
- Chanel Chamade (67) — rich, reddish-pink
- MAC Ladyblush — a neutral, peachy-pink
I have one Illamasqua cream blush (actually my first Illamasqua product ever) in Brazen and omg, SO GOOD. So freakin’ pigmented though, and it’s red!!!
I don’t have Brazen! I need it!
I have so many gorgeous powder blushes, so I’ve been reluctant to start buying cream blushes. However, my skin is on the dry side, and I’m close to being in my mid-thirties, so I’ve really been thinking about cream blushes. I’m afraid I will love them, and my whole collection of powder blushes will collect dust..lol. 😉
A lot of people layer their powder blushes over their cream blushes, so you could try that to make sure the powder ones don’t collect dust 😉
Thanks Christine!
Illmasqua Peaked looks lovely. Haven’t ever tried a cream blush (bad I know!). Have been interested in trying some recently.
I really love a lot of the newer formulas that have been released!
I love cream blushes. Thank you for the recommendation!
Out of all of these, which would you say is the longest wearing and most natural looking?
It does depend on skin tone for the idea of “natural,” since most cream blushes can be sheered out a lot, even deeper shades can look natural if applied lightly! Something that’s not too warm or cool will likely look the most natural (e.g. MAC Ladyblush). Chanel’s the longest wearing on me out of these, with Illamasqua’s coming in a little after.
The MUFE formula is absolutely fantastic! I’m a huge fan and a convert 🙂
YAY! What are your favorite shades so far?
I typically wear cream blush in winter until early spring. My choice would be Illamasqua Seduce.
I’ve been meaning to try Illamasqua’s Velvet Blusher, but I already own several dupes of both shades they have… 🙁
Fingers crossed they come out with more shades soon, Let! I really like the formula!
Oh my gosh, I could stare at these all night… I loooove cream blushes, and your picks are all amazing!
Thank you! What are your favorites?
Yay for Chanel cream blushes!! In my mighty collection of two blush products, Chanel Affinite is my go-to.:-)
I love it so much! I wish I could own all of them, really, I do!
I’d just open all of them up in a row occasionally and stare at how beautiful they are…
I need Chanel to release more, except not, because you know, not cheap.
MAC’s Ladyblush looks gorgeous! I may have to pick that up soon!
It’s a nice every day shade!
I love MAC Brit Wit for a natural flush, and NARS Multiple in Maldives for something more dramatic. I love the Multiple formula, and I’m looking at a few other shades to add to my collection. Between having drier skin, and being an avid user of sunscreen (which needs to be reapplied often), I’m finding cream blushes, highlighters, and contour products to be the most conducive.
I can’t believe Maldives is a dramatic shade for you 😉
The shimmer; the shade itself is quite subtle, and very natural, but it’s veryluminous & shiny!
…I may have to check out Chanel Inspiration at some point, as well!
Le Metier de Beaute Coral Nymph! Just to be fair though, I wear that one pretty much all year round 🙂 I’ve also been using Chanel Affinite so much that I managed to break the compact a little!
Coral Nymph is super pretty! 🙂
I’m not a big fan of cream blushes. I have 2 (both LE from Clarins) though oddly enough, I was looking at some “cheapies” from Joe Fresh and came close to buying one but couldn’t decide between Hydrangea and the other one, which was a bright pink but I forget the name. Perhaps I should break out the ones I have and give them a whirl in the next little while though, to be honest, I find powder blush so much easier and quicker.
….mind you, if I could easily get my hands on Illamasqua Peaked, I’d grab it and bring cream blush back into my routine AND no longer be an Illamasqua virgin!
It took me awhile to find a cream formula I really LOVED and would use regularly (Chanel, or Illamasqua’s new one, since it’s very similar).
Posey was one of my first cream blush. I love the shade though it doesnt stay long on me! Loved each and every listed! 😉
How long does Posey last on you, Vineetha?
I’m really liking the Chanel’s in this roundup!
Yay! 😀
I just got the Clinique cheek pop in ‘plum’. Its a creamier texture and is amazingly long lasting. I bought it purely because it was a pretty flower but its actually a great blush and I cant wait to use it more as spring approaches. Still looking for the perfect brush to apply it thought…
Happy to hear you’re loving it, Tanya!
I’m still loving my becca turkish rose. I love that color.
Looks so pretty!
Urban Decay Indecent is my favorite blush ever. And I mean absolute favorite. It’s a soft peach…no or barely any shimmer and it’s so soft on. I actually liked all of their cream blushes and got them mostly on sale at next to nothing! So sad they were discontinued.
At least you were able to snag ’em on sale!
That’s a great compilation Christine! I have Chanel blush in Revelation and I love the formula! Want Illamasqua Sleek next!
Revelation is so nice!
Illamasqua’s Dixie—with a very light hand!
Gorgeous shade!
I picked up Illamasqua’s Seduce recently and I adore it. Stila Gerbera and Nars Orgasm (the Multiple version!) are my favorites for spring and summer though!
So glad you got Seduce, Sophie! It must be so beautiful on your coloring!
I bought it on an adventurous whim and wasn’t sure how it would look because it’s so ridiculous light-Barbie-pink in the pot, but YSL Creme de Blush 09 Babydoll is just the BEST. It applies more naturally than you’d think, and topping it off with a dusting of Hourglass Ethereal Glow is just the spring-iest!
YAY!!! 🙂 Love when spontaneous purchases pan out!
These all look so pretty! I never seem to have the best luck with cream blushes. They either fade on me or look like circles on my cheeks by the end of the day.
Which ones have you tried, Denise?
I wasn’t a fan of cream blushes before, mainly because I have combination-oily skin, and was afraid that they will just slide of my cheeks.. But, ever since I discovered Chanel’s Le Blush Creme… Well, you know how that went, Christine. 😀
My favorites are:
1) Chamade
2) Fantastic
3) Intonation
4) Presage
5) Revelation
Not at all a surprise that they’re all Chanel 😉
Oh, that’s your fault too. 😉
I love my Chanel Inspiration and sad they have now discontinued it. It’s such a lovely soft rosy pink color. Just a little will do to make a nice natural rose flush on the cheeks.
Discontinued already?!
The Hourglass Illume creme to powder bronzer duo is really good too, and as always with Hourglass, the packaging is super luxe.
Never tried that but now it’s on my list!
Is Chanel Inspiration perm? I haven’t seen it around for a while now. I just picked up Intonation last weekend and I’m loving it!
I was also a bit surprised at how much the foundation impacts blush wear. I was using GA Maestro and had problems with some of my favorite blushes fading away halfway through the day but now that I’ve switched to GA Lasting Silk I can still see a good amount of color when I get home from work at the end of the day, and I’m able to get away with more colors that used to emphasize my redness.
It was supposed to be, but reader Sarah hasn’t been able to find it and reader Kristine mentioned it was discontinued!
I haven’t been able to find Chanel’s Inspiration blush in stores or online anywhere in a long time. Everywhere says it’s permanent but why haven’t I been able to find it for so long? I want it so bad ):
It was supposed to be, but reader Kristine just said it was discontinued!
Last weekend I managed to get CHANEL PRESAGE and you know whyyy 😀
i have bookmarked your TOP 10 roundup and as and when I get a chance I pick few stuff 😀 and my goshhhhhh now i want to kill myself for not buying it earlier :d
it is so damn gorgeous 😀
from the list here I have ILLAMASQUA seduce and its so beautiful on Indian skin 😀
loveeeeee five ways and not at all sorry for repeating it 😀
now am in neutral phase …. you think I should buy CHAMADE ? any other color in cream formula
Try Chamade!!!
I love Presage, it’s such a gorgeous shade! Give Chamade a try, Rashmi. 🙂
I generally prefer powder bronzers and blushes, especially where one product can do double duty as a bronzer and a blush, but I do like Illamasqua Lies, a light pink cream, used mostly as a highlighter.
Lies is nice as a highlighter!
I have and love Seduce and Sleek.
So easy to apply and gorgeous colours too!
They’re both so nice on the skin!
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral!
Love the corals from BB!
I love cream blush. I bought The Balm’s cream blush (apples) since I figured it would last longer on my dry skin that it did on yours. So far I really like it and love all the options in one handy palette. I use my fingers and it just melts into my skin and looks very natural whereas some powder blushes just seem to sit on top of my skin. I am glad so many companies are making cream blushes.
So glad you’re enjoying your palette 🙂
Theres nothing i love more than cream blushes, or cream anything for that matter. And i really really want to get into the illamasqua ones, but i just cant. I’ve seen several rants and pictures of the illamasqua blushes having mold on them. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.
That’s so gross!
