NARS Final Cut Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Final Cut Blush

NARS Final Cut Blush ($30.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “peach coral.” It’s a warm-toned, muted medium orange with a hint of pink. The color is more complex than it seems initially, but I think this is a shade that may look pinker or more orange depending on your natural undertones, as it looks more peachy-orange in some lighting, and then coral in the next room. Fyrinnae Nordic Angel (P, $6.50) is slightly pinker. MAC Passion for Colour (LE, $20.00) is also a smidgen pinker. Chanel Presage (62) (LE, $38.00) is darker, cream. Edward Bess Secret Affair (P, $43.00) is pinker, more shimmery. NARS Gilda (P, $29.00) is darker, not as flat of a matte. MAC Early Morning (LE, $25.00) is darker. Chanel Frivole (P, $43.00) is darker. See comparison swatches. (You can see it on The Dupe List here!)

This shade is part of NARS’ Final Cut collection, which is a Nordstrom exclusive (in the states).  I reviewed all of the other shades from the collection here. The texture was incredibly soft, velvety, and finely-milled. I had no problems getting true-to-pan color, and applied on my medium skin tone, it’s a soft, coral-y flush, though not a strong, intense shade. It blends beautifully and easily, so it feels like a foolproof blush that can be worn every day and applied in a hurry. It wore well for almost eight hours on before showing signs of fading along the edges.

Yeah lol I just hesistate because it may be too pink on me.
I was looking at some coral-orange and orangey-peach blushes but still haven’t found the right shade for me. Coral-pink is easy. MAC Coppertone is too dark, Sleek’s Pan Tao is sweet but more pink than orange and I have to be so careful not to overapply. ELF’s Candid Coral just comes up as gold shimmer on me.
Still looking a at Illamasqua’s Lover and Excite and Expose for a more orangey look, if you get that lol

This is so pretty! I had been thinking about picking up Chanel’s Frivole for quite some time now. With Final Cut being lighter and cheaper, it might work out better for me.

Beautiful! I have this and was going to return it. Now I think I might keep it. Do you feel that any of the items in this collection are “must haves?” I remember from earlier reviews that you said two of the lip pencils were super similar and the light pink was not so great. But of the other items…?

After I return a Mac lipstick at Nordstrom this am, I will definitely be picking up this beautiful Nars blush. Thanks for the review Christine.

Hi Christine,

I finally became a registered member because I really wanted to know how you think this blush compares (if at all) to MAC’s Coppertone blush.

I bought Final Cut yesterday, but wasn’t able to swatch it because they didn’t have a tester (although they did for everything else in the collection. Go figure. Lol.)

Thank you!

I was excited about this one but when I finally got to see it in person, was smaller than I thought. :/ Although it is gorgeous I couldn’t see myself shelling out $30 for something so small. Ah well

I’m tempted to use this as an eyeshadow. The color would work well with some browns I own. Yes, I actually do use blushes for my inner and outer lids a lot, especially when the pinkish and neutral eyeshadows are out of stock!

…You know what? I think I could use this color for the Smitten Chromalust look you did.

I think this will be my second choice if I can’t find my perfect or slightly-less-than-perfect eyeshadow palette. The problem is, will I be able to hit pan with this? 😉

Is this close to Espiegle? I only save that for special occasions but I love it so a (relatively) cheaper similar blush would be nice 🙂

Christine, forgive me for making this comment but I can’t help to wonder what happened lately to your eyebrows? They look so overdrawn, too dark and out of proportion with your eyes. I’m sorry to make this remark but they look very unnatural.
