They look so, so pretty in the pan, but I just can’t get the LE Mineralize eyeshadows to perform the way I want. I will wait to see a few reviews to see if these permanent formulas are worth picking up (it’s so nice to have the time to wait for reviews!).

Mineralize quads? Why is nearly every new and permanent product a mineralized one? I don’t get it, and my skin doesn’t like mineral products. Sometimes I think MAC means MinerALized Cosmetics and not Makeup Art Cosmetics.

Alia Avatar

I agree Nicole…Anything that is mineralized seems to irritate my skin as I have so many environmental allergies! MAC products in general don’t really work for me and I cannot understand the fascination people have with them or the overly made-up Makeup Artists who scare me everytime i wander into their corner of the store….

Ha Ha Ha. That is so funny. Just last night I was wondering when the next collection was coming out so we can all critique about it. At least we go something new to look at.

Diane Avatar

I completely agree, and was just thinking the SAME thing! How come MAC keeps coming out with all these mineralized products? EVERYTHING new (eyeshadow, blush, face powder, etc.) is mineralized now– and I hate it! Mineralized does not work for me, either. I also don’t like the texture and the sparse way mineralized products apply. On the bright side for me is… I have been saving lots of money since I stopped buying from every new MAC collection that comes out. I don’t even look at the MAC counter, anymore, when I am shopping. I head right over to Sephora!

Whatever the bottom left quad is (Glimmer of Gold? Harvest of Green? It appears to have 2 green/gold shades and a nice purple) that is one I would certainly check out. I know a lot of people have found the MES’s disappointing but I have several that I really like – Golden Gaze, Gilt by Association, Illusionary/Burning Ambition (a duo and the brown side is fantastic) and even The Family Silver (another duo with less wonderful pigmentation but I still love it). So I’ll be eager to hear how these new ones perform and if they do measure up, I’ll probably buy one because, well, I am WEAK!

I can’t even comprehend this collection yet – I think we’re still on Divine Night in this country…

Also – the way the shadows are set out in the compacts (especially since the compacs are black) is a CARBON COPY of the way Chanel eyeshadow quads are done for release here!

(I’m not actually saying that means anything, it just struck me when I looked at them!) 😀

Is it just me or is mac losing their originality? All of these shades look like somethibg ive already seen before (from mac) with a different formula and slightly different shade and create a new product out of it. Know what i mean?

Carrie Avatar

I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really like mineralize eyeshadows, so I’m pretty excited about this. The packaging looks interesting and different from anything MAC has done before.

Anitacska Avatar

These remind me of the MUA eyeshadow palettes that cost around £3. Meh. I used to buy everything mineralize, but they used to look so pretty, lately they’re just boring. Oh well, money saved. 🙂

Mariella Avatar

Actually, some of them are pretty good – both shadows and blushes. But they can be really “iffy”, which is why I’m waiting on reviews of these. I’m also seriously annoyed that they are so much more expensive here in Canada than in the US. Geez, MAC used to be a Canadian company, for crying out loud, and a lot of their product is still manufactured here, so far as I know.

Diane Avatar

I agree with you, VCR! All MAC seems to put out is mineralized products lately. I am so over the brand now. I delete all their emails, I don’t even look at their new collections because nothing by MAC appeals to me anymore. They have to be losing money since they lost my monthly purchases… lol!

Kelsey Avatar

They look lovely, but the mineralize lines just don’t have the staying power (and often opacity) that I want in a shadow. Maybe these will surprise me, but I’m not holding my breath. Yet another MAC release I’m passing on.

Al Avatar

oooh I really like the colours!! Can’t wait for them to come out!! So pretty…

Some people just go with the flow about being anti-mac… at least try them first before hating…!! Unbelievale!!

Nadoda Avatar

i looooooove them , i was looking for a spring pallet yesterday and i love mineralized eye shadows,
“a party of pastels ” seems like what i want , i’ll wait for swatches though

Denise Lee Avatar

What the… is mac trying to copy chanel now? I dont get it either.. no one needs MORE mineral e/s quads. especially not shaped like annoying little pearls.

Morena Avatar

Thats exactly what i was saying!!! (above) Yes they’re mineralized but the shadesseem very duppable with past LE colors, just revamped, changed formula, change the color by 1 or 2 shades and add a sparkle (or none to it) and BOOM! give it a different name.

Mac could definitely learn a thing or two from these other brands out there. The catchy names “mineralized, kissable, huggable, longwearing” do not sell to me. (and i hope MAC reads this.)

And you know niw theyre really running out of ideas when they include permanent shades to the collection., even though, Yes, is a great way to repromote products.

Karin Ho Avatar

USD44? Now the Mac x15 neutral palette looks like a steal for USD100! Pity we wont get these type of prices here…. we pay double for everything!
