Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Nail Lacquer ($23.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is a subtly warm-toned, beige with brown and mauve tones and a metallic, champagne shimmer. OCC Kava Kava is lighter, yellower. Chanel Peche Nacree was warmer, more peach. Rescue Beauty Lounge Ani was less pigmented, lighter. Zoya Shay was less metallic, lighter. See comparison swatches.

It was quite pigmented, and nearly one coat was almost opaque but produced an interesting semi-opaque result (I applied only one coat on my pinky nail for reference) that some may like. The color itself was more unique than not, which is something that made me really want to like it, but there were so many visible brush strokes that I found the finish to be more distracting as a result. The brush strokes were also the type that go wonky easily, so they’re not uniform or in a straight line (and Guerlain’s brush is fairly wide, so that should have helped). The consistency was just slightly thick but not really problematic. I’ve been getting a week of wear with Guerlain’s formula with very minor tip wear.

Well named! This reminds me of a polish I had about 15 years ago that I wore ALL THE TIME – until it completely dried up. You’d think it’s an easy colour to dupe but this is the closest I’ve seen. I’ve never shelled out for Guerlain but I think I would, if this translates as well on my skin tone as it does on yours.

What a beautiful champagne color! It’s nice and opaque for being such a nude color.

I think that would be perfect to wear as a guest for a wedding! Such a classic!

Really too many brush strokes, Guerlain nail polishes are pretty though ( this one is disappointing I think even if the colour is classy )

Hi Christine, I’ve seen many swatches of this nail polish but this one particularly compliments your skin tone (and your ring)! I like it on you.
