There are a few different types of gold–all fun and festive for the holiday season–and here are some of my recent favorites! I’d love to hear yours 🙂

  1. Makeup Geek Gold Digger — a frosted, orange gold
  2. Ulta Gold — a shimmery, yellow gold
  3. Ardency Inn Sunday — a light-medium gold with a metallic finish
  4. Make Up For Ever D416 Crystalline Yellow — a sparkly white gold
  5. Ardency Inn Heaven — a metallic, antique gold

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

The Ardency Inn shadows just came back into stock on Sephora, and now they’re on their way to me, oops. This post reminded me just how gorgeous they are, and I’m tentatively getting back into eye makeup and decided to get them 🙂

Sephora’s Girls Night Out is definitely a favorite! Other superrich golds like Urban Decay’s Honey (UD, please do with Honey what you did with Perversion and make the shade available in as many products as possible. I’m begging youuuu), Makeup Geek’s Liquid Gold, and Sugarpill’s Goldilux are also nice. MAC’s pigment in Old Gold is also one I love.

The Ardency Inn ones are HNNNGH!-worthy, of course, but I’m actually really liking that Ulta one! I think it has a lovely luminous finish, and strikes a nice balance of yellow and white. 🙂

My go-to gold is always UD’s Half-Baked, but that’s partly because it’s one of the few I have. I have some nice Sleek ones too though, and the Lancome Golden Frenzy palette is quite nice (if a little less buttery than it night be).
