I need more purples! I only have Urban Decay Last Call, which I love, but it broke recently. 🙁 Still, so many lovely colours to choose from.

It helps (at least in *my* experience) to add the alcohol and let it sit for a few hours, then press it. Just remember, the higher the alcohol content, the easier it’ll be, so use a minimum 70%, although 90-91% would be the best choice.

This reminded me that I have a shadow that needs tending to…

I’m so bad about distinguishing between warm and cool with shades like purples. I really love the purple in Nars Habanera….would that one be warm or cool? It looks more like these purples than the cool ones you showed. I have Psychedelic Sister but rarely use it because it’s in an awkward palette (BOSIII, I think). UD Half Truth is another favourite purple (also an awkward palette!) and I think it’s also probably warm toned. I just love it – it’s such a lovely colour.

I find purples to be a hard category to distinguish if it they aren’t blue-purples or closer to plum/eggplant. The best advice I can offer is when you sheer it out, the base color usually determines the undertone (not always the case, though).

I think the purple in Habanera would be warmer!

I have similar problems but I find they tend to attach themselves to me just like barnacles and I can’t pry them off without the help of the cashier (probably another reason I don’t order products online which is why I have no Makeup Geek shadows…yet)

In the crease: silvery-gray, teal, pinky-peach or hot pink; base: usually a matte nude or a matte light lavender; white, very light lavender or gray, or champagne highlighter. I know sometimes my color combos sound wild, but I use a light touch and blend, blend, blend.

I have Drama Queen. It’s a fantastic colour.
Now I feel the need for Hysteric! Psychedelic Sister have spent a long time on my want list.
The other two, NARS and MUFE are also lovely. The “new” NARs eye shadows haven’t come to my Sephora yet and MUFE are expensive, well so are NARS, but I will absolutely take a close look at them. I often walk around the isles in Sephora and departmnet stores as well as other make up stores, swatching purples. So much fun,and sometimes frustrating as some brands seem to have problems making the purples pigmented enough or have a nice workable texture.
