30 Eyeshadow Combinations for a Taste of Winter
This post features 30 different eyeshadow color combinations for the winter season, so there’s a mix of silver and gold holiday looks along with infusion of color to offset the change in weather to embracing the cooler, wintry tones!
About This Series
Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.
You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

I love these kind of combinations you create Christine, as anyone can make them from their own dupes of eyeshadows. My favourites are: Holiday Glitz, Dipped in Decadence, Warm Enough, Pewter Glam, A Touch of Rose, By the Fireplace, Never Drab, Copper Edges and Last Leaf.
Thank you so much, Genevieve! Hope you are having a great week.
Looking at these, I am sort of mentally kicking myself for NOT buying Too Faced’s Chocolate Gold palette when it went on sale. You have a lot of stunning combos above (Last Leaf, Forest Friends, By the Fireplace….I could go on) but seeing the lovely combo with the TF Chocolate Gold, I just wish I hadn’t decided to be “sensible” (I’ll be looking to see if it ever turns up at Marshalls!)
Aww! It is a nice one by Too Faced – and a little “different” than their usual releases, I guess you’d say. Here’s hoping it’s on sale again!
I just looked at the Sephora site and it IS still available (I think I’m confusing it with the glittery version of Kat von D’s Shade+Light palette. But the Chocolate Gold palette isn’t on sale and there are quite a few shades that I wouldn’t wear. I really need to dip my toe (well, not literally – this image isn’t all that appealing) into Sydney Grace’s shadows – so many of those combos with her shadows – Never Drab, Warm Enough and Last Leaf – really are stunning and kind of my style.
Yes, SG does have such an extensive catalog that it’s hard not to find some good color combos! Especially since they have so many greens, LOL.
