The Summer Season: MAC See Sheer Lipstick
MAC See Sheer Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly muted coral-orange with a glossy sheen. It has a creamier look to it, as there is no noticeable shimmer in it. It delivers nearly full-color coverage–you can just lightly see the freckle on my lower lip. It wears very well and feels incredibly comfortable on–soft, moisturizing, clinging enough to wear for three to four hours, but not tight or drying. It’s a fun way to wear coral without going full-on coral.
Is this the right coral for you? Would you wear it?
The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.
See photos and swatches…

I just bought this tonight and love the color. I was not sure of it in the store under fluorescent lighting, but in natural light I love it. Thanks for the recommendation!
I love this! Just bought Crosswires though. Is Summerfruit a good liner for these coral lippies? What other liners would you recommend? Very glad this is permanent, just added it to my faves to eventually buy (but saving money now for those felines!)
Summerfruit is a good choice for coral lipsticks - or else maybe a shade from MUFE's liner line, since there aren't too many fab coral liners by MAC.
def. will check this out in the store. Crosswire is too orange for a workday look and since Vivia Glam Cyndi is OUT OF STOCK like for more than a month, this one could be the my ultimate go-to lipstick!
This is the only MAC lipstick that I own and I love it! The MUA was spot-on when she recommended this to me.
See Sheer is one of my fav summer lippies, I can wear it blotted down for a more muted look, or build it up and top it up with a varity of lipglosses I own to complement my make-up, love the way it look and feels.
Pretty! I'd definitely try this one over some of the others I've seen! Wondering how similar it is to Viva Glam Cyndi....
I happen to be wearing this one RIGHT NOW! I recently bought MAC's See Sheer, Vegas Volt, and the Viva Glam Cyndy Lauper shade, and I can't decide which one is my favorite!
I LOVE this lipstick. My boyfriend is going to have my head if I place ANOTHER order to MAC, though.
Very beautiful color! can you suggest me a similar sheer, glossy, permanent MAC lipstick "on the pink side"? I mean that pink near to fuchsia but not so bright... Thanks!
Hi :) Do you know how "See sheer" compares to "crosswires", "made to order", and "Ravishing"? Do I need all of them? What are your top two fave?
It's much lighter and less pink compared to Crosswires - more opaque and less glossy than Made to Order, and it's more of a coral, whereas Ravishing is pretty peachy. Crosswires and Ravishing.
i love the way this looks on your skintone! if i just randomly saw this lipstick, i probably would be put off by the orange hues of it, but the swatch is gorgeous! i like it because it looks pretty subtle and natural. gotta try it out the next time my piggy bank fills up~ :P
This looks so pretty and natural on you. I'm very fair with cool undertones, so I don't think this shade would suit me.
i am loving that color! it looks great on you! i think i'll take a peak at it next time i hit my mac counter!
I like this one and Crosswires... what do you think Christine? for my warm medium skin (NC35) or what's the difference that you noticed between them?
What a beautiful lipstick. According to the name, I thought it would be really sheer but it has a surprisingly good coverage. The shade is amazing!
Christine, it looks like Crosswires? This lipstick looks gorgeous on you, but I have Crosswires(because of your swatch) and I'm affraid they look similar. Xoxo
