Lancome Voile de Rose Lipstick
The Spring Season: Lancome Voile de Rose Lipstick
Lancome Voile de Rose L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick ($29.00) is a creamy, medium pink with warmer undertones. I almost didn’t include it as part of the Spring Season, just because it’s the pink is a little more amped up than I was originally thinking, but I couldn’t resist — the color is really such a lovely shade of pink. L’Absolu Rouge Lipsticks apply like a dream; soft, creamy, and moisturizing. The color is opaque and clings to lips without being drying. Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge is definitely one of my favorite lipstick formulas to apply.
Is this medium pink the one for you? Would you wear it?
The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

On my lips this color actually turns more coral and it looks more opaque than in the swatch - I honestly prefer what I see here than on my lips :( but it's not too bad, luckily this color on my is quite unique compare to other lipsticks in my collection, I never have any coral-ish shades
Does this lippie have the same icky rose scent as other Lancome lippies? If so, is Guerlain Rouge G in Georgia a close dupe? Thanks!
Yeah, it has a rosy scent, though maybe not as heavy as some of the other formulas, but heavy enough. Rouge G lipsticks are fairly scented (not as much as KissKiss, though), but it's more of sweet scent... just a heads up! It's similar, maybe not a perfect dupe, but definitely similar!
Can you maybe tell me if this one looks real to you? http://cgi.ebay.de/lancome-labsolu-rouge-lipstick-voile-de-rose-new_W0QQitemZ260471492276QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDE_Beauty_Make_Up_Make_Up?hash=item3ca54f8eb4 cause this way I could get it :)
The packaging looks very different. I know here in the U.S. (I know some companies vary packaging between countries), L'Absolu Rouge lipsticks have a slanted cap. The color looks about right, though.
I wouldnt trust any makeup of ebay. Mac especially!! Ive been lucky and have managed to get a few authentic bits off there. But most of it are copies. Extremely good copies at that!! The only way I could tell the difference was because the box opened up the wrong way!
This color is stunning. I might have to get it. This one, and Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque. I loved the Scarlet Season, and I have a feeling that I'll love the Spring Season. My bank account is going to hate it, though. A lot of really superb lipsticks have 'Rouge' in the name, I've noticed: YSL Rouge Volupte Guerlain Rouge G Chanel Rouge Allure and Rouge Allure Laque Lancome L'Absolu Rouge There are probably more that I've either forgotten or haven't heard of.
The color is beautiful. I really needed a new shade for the spring. I hope I can still find this one in the shops :)
i like this color because it is so warm and natural. i know lancome is still sort of high end but i never thought their l/s were more expensive than MAC's or NARS. they are reaching up into YSL rouge volupte territory.
sorry for double posting but i have never fell in love like this with a pink lipstick before. i want one. :))
I am so confused! I bought this color today after seeing it here and it looks SO different! Not just on my lips but the color itself isn't even close to the same. It is a brownish medium to dark pink and looks nothing like these photos! Do you think I got a dud?
OK, that is really weird! Brownish medium dark pink? Hmm. Have you swatched it yet? It's definitely brown on me... very medium pink with a little rosy kick, but not dark or brown! I even double-checked to make sure I didn't mislabel or anything, but it's Voile de Rose L'Absolu Lipstick. http://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/lipcolor/labsolu-rouge.htm
I just tried it on again and my last description was a bit off! It looks more like a sheer red with a hint or orange lip stain or something! I tried to take a picture but it looks pink on camera- go figure! It looks gorgeous on you though (I must have a dud!). I'm going to go check out another tomorrow and see how it is. Thanks Christine!
Definitely check out another, I'm really sorry that it's not what you expected :( That is so weird... I could see it being a little different on lips (since we all have different color/pigmentation), but in a swatch! it should be still similar enough.
Wow, this colour is gorgeous. Just wondering - how does it compare to MAC's Crosswires? The colour looks really similar - at least on my monitor - and since I already have it I want to know before I rush out and buy it. :) Thanks.
Crosswires has a creamier look and finish - I'd say it's a bit brighter as well. Here's Crosswires on me - http://gallery.temptalia.com/mac-crosswires-lipstick-2
I want to make sweet, sweet love to this colour, I already have a favourite from The Spring Season and it's the middle of summer where I am! Love it!
This pink is just soooo sooooo beautiful! I love it! I've never really tried any of Lancome's lipsticks but this one really tempts me!
