MAC Viva Glam VI SE Lipstick Review & Swatches

MAC recently launched Viva Glam VI Lipstick in a Special Edition to line up with Fergie as their spokesperson for the Viva Glam campaign. Some people have been finding this color to run a little on the purple side, but it runs mostly pink on me. Like many of the other VG lipsticks/lipglasses, the color is great for most people. I think it’s a nice everyday color with a bit of a pop.

I swatched it on my hand last night at my local counter. I'm seriously thinking of going back for it. I love how it looks like a lipgloss, but have the longevity of a lipstick. I accidently swatched viva glam III too & I still have it on my hand after washing my hand countless times.

Christine, This color looks amazing on you! Stunning for a pink! I saw this the day it came out but didn't even swatch it. Now I am going to go back today and check it out. The MAC Pro is right below my office, which is terrible and great at the same time! LOL I am interested to see if it comes out the same color on my lips as I am very fair and I would LOVE for it to look the same on me! Rebecca

The color looks so much lighter then how it does on the tube. Looking at the tube I'd think I'd never get it but looking at the swatch on your lips, it's such a pretty pink!

on me it was really pinky, kindof with a creme finish. i really liked it with the new lipgloss.
I think I must get this. I don't usually purchase limited edition collections that don't accept the pro card, but I always participate and purchase the Viva Glam products to support the cause.

wow! it looks warmer on my lips...weird how different it looks on different people. I have syrup also, and compared together, they look almost identical, but viva glam vi se is a tad warmer and rosier than syrup.

That color looks GORGEOUS on you! I have so many lipsticks that I don't really need to be buying anymore, but I want to buy this one now! I hope the color looks just as good on me.

i was sad saint germain didn't look good on me but this one did. love it, it's pink with hint of purple on me but very wearable, loooove it. i like most of the viva glam collect.

hey, i just wanted to respond to you and say that the lipstick Syrup is veryyy similar to this!! Try it, its almost identical!

I have it and i love it! I usually wear a bit of lipgloss over it just to make it pop a bit more

I think it'd look purple on my very pigmented lips. I want to get a VG lipstick though, one that would look more neutral on me.
Viva glam V is a good one thats neutral.
Maybe try one of the other VGs, even VG VI (not SE)!
Wow EVERYONE SHOULD PICK UP A VIVA GLAM lipstick or lipgloss. Its for a GOOD CAUSE! AIDS! Remember when you purchase an V.G. product you are making a different in someones life who is LIVING with HIV/AIDS. Help the fight! These products should be wore with PRIDE! You are making a different, in a small but ever so needed way. I shall be picking up a FEW for me and my sister/girlfriends. This color is amazing on you Christine! hahah Those lips should be the lips that promote Viva Glam.

I WISH it looked like this on me :( it comes off totally purple. none of the VG lippies or l/g work on me.
Oh no! :( It wasn't purple at all really... not like Lavender Whip/Fashion Mews purple, at least!

It looks great on you! One question: did you apply straight from the tube (and if so how many layers), with a brush, or some other method?
I applied from the tube, and I'd say two layers if I had to put it in layers!

i've been looking forward to this. thank you how does this one wear? does it last for a substantial amount of time? does it dry out your lips?
