MAC To the Beach Collection – Beach Bronze, Weekend Cream Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC To the Beach Collection
MAC Beach Bronze Cream Bronzer

MAC To the Beach Collection — Beach Bronze Cream Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches

From MAC To the Beach, we find two cream bronzers, a first from the company to my recollection. They’re creamy, but they’re very thin and lightweight.  They blend out quite a bit, and in the process, sheer out as well.  The products themselves seem pretty large, given that they’re the size of MAC’s bronzing powders–bigger than a blush.

  • Beach Bronze is a creamy, sheer warmed-up, tan-brown with gold shimmer. It can be worn heavily, but it’s hard to really pack on the color and blend it out simultaneously, because once you start blending it, it melts and sheers out a bit. I think it’ll be a nice, subtle bronzer on those with light to medium skin tones. Those with deeper skin tones may find it works well as a cream highlighter or skin brightener than as an actual bronzer.
  • Weekend is an orange-tinged suntan brown with subtle copper shimmer.  This is much more on the orange side compared to Beach Bronze. I’d also say this is a bit darker and more pigmented, so it may work best on deeper skin tones.

Why is this bronzer discontinued I love it want to buy more!

Sorry to reply so much later but you can find them easily at a CCO (Cosmetic Company Outlet)

I think Weekend is a little too orange for my skintone but on warmer skintones it may work.

hey christine! which shade do you think would look best on my caramel brown complexion?

Hi everyone. I live in Israel, and I love "MAC Cosmetic" very much. I think that MAC is unique and spacial. We do have MAC in Israel (not for long, just 5 years ago MAC arrive to Israel) and I'm very happy with it. "MAC To The Beach" has arrived also at the end of May, and I bought a few items, which I'm very pleased with. Unfortunetly some items from the collection are missing like "marine life" and the two creme bronzers that I wanted very badly...... I don't know the reason.

Hi Christine! Maybe I'm late, but... how do you think weekend will show up on my NC20 skin? Too dark? Thanks a lot, you are really amazing!

I think it would work!

Hey Christine Do you think that is is better applied with a 187 or a 188?

I just bought weekend...the mua put it on my face like a normal bronzer with coppertone as a blush on my cheeks. It's beautiful. I have super oily skin and the finish of this is powdery, not shiny at all. I'm a nc42/44.

The weekend looks natually for contouring. It felt like silk when apply on skin.

I don't have a cream bronzer. Looks really pretty though. I might just go out and buy it.

i have somewhat oily skin and am skeptical on how these will hold up in the summer but really want to try them

Very helpful as always! Question: I'm NC30, which one do you recommend for me? I have a bunch of powder bronzers, I don't think I need one more but since I don't own a creme bronzer, do you think is worth buying one of these? Some people at youtube compare Beach Bronze to the Chanel Universal creme bronzer... I don't know either... Thanks!

If you want to use it as a bronzer... probably Weekend. Beach Bronze is just so sheer!

Christine, which cream bronzer will look better on my skintone(NC 37)? oh & do u think get-away bronze will show up on me?

Weekend, I think :) Yes, it'll show up on you, but since it's bronzy, you may not see a *ton* of color - kind of a darkening perhaps.

Christine, thanks so much for all you're amazing swatches and reviews, I live in England and already bought my to the beach stuff, and I've just been waiting for your opinion on what I got :). I bought the cream bronzer in beach bronze, and I like it, but where should I be putting it on my face if its not a good contour? Because its very shimmery and I have oily skin so I don't want it to make me look shiny xx

Check the look I *just* posted -- I'm wearing it as a base under my blush! You can also use it as a sheer highlighter on shoulders!

I was wondering if the cream bronzers have too much shimmer...I really prefer a natural bronzed look.

I don't think it has too much shimmer, BUT I don't think it's super natural, so you may not like it.

Christine, do you know anything about these causing major breakouts? My MA suggested these to really warm up my NC45 skin, but I don't want to look like a lunar surface in the process. :/ Thanks!

Hi Snarkette, I've only worn it today, so I couldn't say from personal experience. Looking at the ingredient list, which is lengthy, nothing jumped out at me as particularly known for causing acne! Here are the first few ingredients: isostearyl neopentanoate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, polymethyl methacrylate, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, hydroxstearic acid, polybutene, polyethylene, isononyl, isononaote, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate My apologies for any typos there!

Weekend shall be mine baby yeah!!

I'm new to cream blushes. How would I apply these? I am NC43. Which would look better? and would any work as a contour? Thanks! I lOve your site!!! My favorite!

I would use the 187 or 188 :) Since they both have some shimmer, I don't know about as a contour. Maybe Weekend, but I don't love it as a contouring shade.

I'm an nw20-nw25...do you think the beach bronze would look okay? I have orange issues. Btw, thank you for your reviews, I always read them before I order things from new MAC collections.

I think it would - it's not super bronzy, kind of like a bronzy highlighter.

Do you think it will show up on my skin Christine? I'm NC45! :) Can i use it as a highlighter?

Yes, it should, but more like a highlighter!

This bronzer feels like silk on! iloved it.

I bought this today, it's so gorgeous and works really well on my fair skin (I wear MSFN in Light Medium/Medium for reference). :)

I am getting so excited for this collection. I am sadly still on the fence about these. I love the idea but I'm so scared I won't be able to apply it...I am still confused. Can we just use these as a powder bronzer and apply all over the face or is this going to be something for just contouring?

I would use it as a bronzer - maybe a blusher - but it's not a fab contour, since it does have some shimmer to it.

I love the color, but there's no way I can do creams in summer - they melt away and my makeup end up looking horrible. Sadly this will be a no buy despite it looking so pretty.

Hi Christine, I know in your review you state that it is a subtle bronzer. I was wondering about the shimmer in it. Some bronzers tend to have too much shimmer to them and I was just wondering how you found this one? It looks nice in the package, but the picture you show of it blended on your hand looks kind of shimmery. Just wondering how you found it to look on your face. Also, did the cream bronzer last throughout the day? Thanks.

Hi Kristen, Since I just got these this morning, I haven't had the opportunity to test it for wear. My apologies!

Hey Christine-- just saw this collection on sale on Bloomingdale's website. All but Marine Life!!

I have an order in, but nobody at Bloomingdale's has been able to confirm if they're for sale or just for pre-order. I paid for Express shipping, but nothing's shipped (that was two days ago), so I don't know.

It doesn't look like it's on their site anymore.

C- What brush would you suggest to apply/blend this cream bronzer with? Thanks for the input! -V

hi christine, i was wondering if this would look good on very pale skin? Im an ivory colour with cool undertones. p.s i absoulutley love temptallia!<3

I think it would, actually -- it can be sheered out to your liking. Thank you!

After seeing your swatches, I really like this product. I was going to totally skip but not anymore!

pretty enough!! i must have this :D

Hi Christine, do U think this will hold up on oily skin??

Sorry, I just got it today, so I haven't been able to test it.
