MAC Springsheen Blush Review, Photos, Swatches, Dupes
MAC Springsheen Blush
MAC Springsheen Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “golden tawny peach [with a Sheertone Shimmer finish].” It’s a pinky-coral with a frosted, golden sheen and warm undertones. MAC Petal Power (LE, $25.00) is very similar. Clinique Peach Pop (02) (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker. Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy (P) is warmer, less pink. Too Faced Peachy Keen (LE) is very similar. Tom Ford Beauty Love Lust (P, $55.00) is warmer, less pink, darker. NARS Orgasm (P, $29.00) is very similar. Milani Dolce Pink (P, $7.99) is less warm-toned. Benefit Bella Bamba (P, $28.00) is darker, less golden. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Springsheen is part of the permanent range, and it’s a long-time favorite for many readers. The texture is soft, finely-milled, and smooth when applied and buffed into the skin. It applies color evenly, and it blends beautifully on the skin. It has a more shimmery finish, so I noticed very slight emphasis of pores, but I was surprised to find it more forgiving than the average blush with this much shimmer–especially as it is blended and softened, it seems to lessen. It had excellent color coverage that was buildable, while the blush wore well for eight hours before starting to show signs of fading.

I have this one, gorgeous!
Yay! What do you like to pair it with?
i just wanted to say that I looooooove this blush!! it makes my face light up and look sweeter!!! I always get compliments when I wear this blush!
Happy to hear it! I know it’s a popular shade!
Great product ! It seems I have to buy it soon!
A lot of readers love it!
It looks beautiful on you Christine, your skin is so healthy.
This is my favorite blush, I think it is flattering on many skin completions, I have mac petal flower and it is very close to it, also tarte glisten and I have a mini Nars orgasm, that doesn’t get much of my attention.
Thanks, Fabiola! 🙂
That’s so pretty! I recently purchased Sleek Rose Gold so I’m good in the pink peach shimmer department, but this is tempting, haha. Will you review that by any chance?
I don’t have that, sorry!
This is my ‘no think’ blush. If i cant decide what to wear on my cheeks, I pick this. I agree tgat it’s surprising how little this emphasises pores. I found NARS Orgasm unwearable because it made me look so shiny, but this never does
So glad you had a similar experience, Zainab! 🙂
I said ‘wow’ out loud when I saw your picture. This looks really beautiful on you 🙂
Aw, thanks Wendy! 🙂
It’s a lovely peachy rose gold but there are just so many like it already that it’s hardly a groundbreaking release for Spring..
This isn’t new – it is a permanent product that has been around for years.
Hahah that’d be why then. Thanks Christine 🙂
This is really pretty I wonder if this will show up on my nw48 skin tone
I think it’ll show up, but it might not look quite as intense on your skin tone as it looks on mine.
Accumulated a lot of blushes in the past year or two, but this is still one of my favorites. 😉
I can see it being a great go-to!
What are you wearing on your lips? I have this blush and that color on your lips looks so nice with the blush.
Lancome Corail Cabriole!
Springsheen is one of my all time favs from MAC and one of the very first!!!. Looks lovely on you!
Aww! 😀
I love the gold shimmer in this blush. I think it’s beautifully subtle and gives a healthy glow. I’m definitely going to have to buy this one! I don’t use my MAC blushes as much as my Illamasqua ones (so much more pigmented and long lasting!) but some shades are just so beautiful, like MAC’S Azalea Blossom, which I adore.
Hopefully you’ll be impressed by this one!
I’m in love!!
Yay!
I adore MAC’s blushes and this one happens to be one of those oldie but a goodie! Would love if you can review some of the classic permanent shades 🙂
It’s definitely an oldie!
I wore Springsheen for years (it was actually the only blush I owned!!) so I’m glad to see it get such a good review! It has a special place for me 😛
That was Margin for me initially 😀
What is the difference between MAC’s Springsheen and Peachykeen? Some people claim one is more pink less peach, and some claim the other way around! I have no idea which one to get.
I find Peachykeen is a smidgen pinker and not as gold shimmered.
I thought it would look too shimmery based on the swatches, but it looks gorgeous actually! And permanent.
It’s surprising applied for sure – not nearly as shimmery on!
This looks like a slightly darker version of my favorite blush at the moment… the L’Oreal True Match blush in the Innocent Flush (N3-4) color. It’s a really pretty color and not a bad dupe at $10 (less with an Ulta coupon!)
Good to know! Thanks for sharing, Sara!
This is such a pretty blush for spring!
Agreed!
I have this and LOVE it! It is such a great spring/summer blush.
What do you like to wear it with, Renee?
If I am really tan, I will wear it with vegas volt or costa chic. If I don’t feel like going so bold, it seems to pair nicely with Nars orgasm gloss. It also seems to pair well with rubenesque paint pot on the eyes. I don’t typically wear a highlighter with it just because it is kind of shimmery but I feel like that eliminates a step in my morning routine, which is nice.
Good pairing! Thank you so much for sharing, Renee 😀
It’s very pretty, but I have Nars Orgasm already..and love it.
You can definitely skip! 🙂
I’m on my 4th Springsheen. I love this blush so much that I keep using it up and repurchasing.
Wow! That’s incredible! How long does one last for you?
At first, I was all “Oooh, that’s pretty!” and then, I have to remind myself I own all of about six bluses and two of them are already really similar.
Haha!
Gorgeous!! I saw you compared it to Milani Dolce Pink, but how does it compare to Milani Luminoso?
Luminoso is warmer!
I’m so glad you still review products from the permanent range. Please don’t stop!
Never!
This is one of my favorites from MAC and it’s a great all-around peach.
Mine, too!
It’s a pretty colour! I have lots of peach blushes, so I would pass on this for now.
Definitely a shade a lot of brands have nowadays!
I love this, especially with a little of MAC’s Improper Copper cream color base blended on top for a more bronzy look in the summer. It’s my new favorite combo.
Oooh! That sounds gorgeous.
I love Springsheen!! Such a gorgeous blush!
Agreed!
wow! that’s stunning
It’s really nice!
Aww, this is a really pretty blush on you! I’d never actually heard of this one, but it’s lovely. I’m still a little leery of shimmery blushes, as my dry skin makes my cheeks annoyingly textured, and I’m afraid shimmer will highlight it all! :-S
You might stay away then – it’s forgiving, particularly for a frost, but it won’t help dry skin, you know?
Oh wow…it is beautiful…and how many peachy pinky blushes should one person own! I am afraid i NEED this and Petal Power. Thank you Christine for fueling my shopaholic self…LOL
LOL! 😉 Honestly, you only need one, really!!
One of their best blushes to be sure.
What do you like to wear with it, Liz?
Springsheen is such a pretty shade… loved the way it looks on you .. <3
Thanks, Poo!
Bought this in 2010. The color is so beautiful but it was sooo metallic on me that I decided to use it as an eye shadow, lol. One similar (maybe lighter) is Mac Mineralize Blush Dainty and this one does not make my pores scream and is my all-time favorite blush =)
I bet it’s a pretty eyeshadow!
This was my first Mac blush ever!!! I purchased it when I got more into makeup, I should use it more often, it is soooo pretty!
Aww! For nostalgia, you gotta use it again soon!
I did today!! 😀 I paired it with an olive green/ bronzy eyeshadow
Even though it’s fairly warm I’m lusting over it!
It has a fair amount of pink in it! But if you’ve tried shades like NARS Orgasm and haven’t liked it, maybe not.
Such a beautiful spring blush. I am not buying this blush only because I am told its a dupe for Nars Orgasm. But, from your swatches it looks more pink than Orgasm.
It is definitely similar to Orgasm, but it is a bit pinker.
Wao such a gorgeous looking blush on you Christine its awesome 🙂 n by luck I have this blush it gives such a nice glows peachy look to my face I love it by up u r 1000% right that it don’t emphasise pores much n blend so nicely n even better than mac dollymix 🙂 but Christine its giving u the gorgeous pinky virally look while on my it’s more of a coral shimmery look not that I mind that glowing my face but I m just curious thank you sweetums for reviewing this blush n ohh I pair it with brown smokey look n coral glossy lips 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂
the colour looks beautiful !
Glad you liked it! 🙂
The name is super cute and looks even cuter!
It’s a nice name!
I see that this has a lot of shimmer/glitter in compared to what I’m used to in a blusher..but it’s a gorgeous shade and I’m tempted by it.
Christine, do you think this would accentuate acne scars and large pores? That’s my only worry with this formulation.
Hi Melanie!
It didn’t emphasize my pores, but I also can’t say that I have really large pores!
