MAC Pret-a-Papier Collection for Summer 2010
U.S. Launch Date: April 22nd, 2010
International Launch Date: May 2010
Craft Paper Couture – an inspired idea cut like a pattern and whipped up into a frisky little “funny face” frock. Then, strip it back to its essence for Summer 2010 for a Pret-a-Papier colour collection. It was a Project Runway challenge of sorts, with paper as the source, the instigator of ideas, the beginning of something simply, basically beautiful. Lipstick, LipGlass, Eye Shadow, Paint Pot, Chromografic Pencil, Studio Fix Lash, Impeccable Brow Pencil, Sheertone and Mineralize Blushes, and Nail Lacquer in a seamless spectrum of parchment-to-vellum beiges, with an occasional, clever colour spill, coral among the most au courant.”

Melly
Thursday, February 11, 2010That’s what i was thinking. I hope it will be different, I don’t like my rubenesque :(
Julia
Thursday, February 11, 2010me neither.
Michelle
Thursday, March 18, 2010It looks like a true coral with cream finish. RUB is more of a copper coral with frost finish. it looks gorg tho!
Yuliya
Friday, March 12, 2010i think rubenesque is very golden-peachy (well..on me) so it might be more orange-y and red maybe
just guessing =] i love rubenesque too, great for summer
Saira
Sunday, April 4, 2010It looks more to the orangey-bronzeish side with a foil-like appearence, cut to fit seems to be it’s twin in the E/S’s it doesn’t seem matte from the swatches of the collection I saw: http://www.specktra.net/forum/f217/mac-pret-papier-collection-apr-10-a-158823/
Bridgette
Tuesday, February 9, 2010Oh no im a sucker for bronzy copper nail polishes! And the Coral paint pot is so lovely. My bank account is crying right now cause its now knows that it is going to be out of money!

Corinne Ellis
Tuesday, February 9, 2010looking forward to the paint pot :)
Michelle
Tuesday, February 9, 2010what are the Chromagraphic Pencils for?
Jacquelyn
Tuesday, February 9, 2010Chromagraphic pencils are flesh toned pencils that you can use on your waterline like the Stile Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz.
Melly
Tuesday, February 9, 2010ohh sounds interesting. can’t wait to see.
Mora
Wednesday, February 10, 2010but what are they for?
i don’t see the need of these pencils, i don’t have to cover someting on my waterline, because my waterline is already flesh toned.
sorry, for that silly question, but i can’t imagine what to do with the chromagraphics.
Tabi
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Flesh-toned pencils are great for the waterline when you want something light to brighten/widen the eyes but you don’t want something as stark as white or silver. It gives a very natural awakeness and freshness to your eyes.
Also, I’ve seen them used on the upper lid paired with a black liner (so black line against the lashes, then a flesh-colored line right above it) to make the black stand out more and look very sharp. This helps make a sharp but minimalistic-looking eye to pair with bright lips.
I’m sure there are other uses, too. =)
Flesh-colored pencils are certainly not for everyone (I’m a big fan of bright colors, myself, so I’ll use silver or white), but they’re awesome for those who like very natural makeup!
Sarah M
Friday, March 12, 2010you can use them on your waterline to brighten your eyes… without the line looking too harsh, a thin line under your brows to define them and make them stand out, on the cupids bow to make your lips look fuller… and I’m sure there are many other uses. Nothing coming to mind right now though. :-)
Letitia
Friday, March 12, 2010I was hoping that they would come out with a neutral waterline pencil to brighten the eyes but not look so harsh!
Kristen
Tuesday, February 9, 2010Paaaaaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnttt pot!! Oh how I love thee! lmao Sorry but I have a VERY unhealthy addiction to mac paints and this is the first collection in a while that has had a new one.. unless I have missed something. o_O
bubbles

Nicole
Tuesday, February 9, 2010coral blush and paintpot (: WOO!
Salvinia
Tuesday, February 9, 2010What a random thing to base a collection on…
The colours are nice, although a bit too neutral for me.
Harlow
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Agreed. I love the idea, very unique but what with all the neutral collections recently, I’m ready for some color:)
Alex
Tuesday, February 9, 2010yay corals!!! cant wait. love me some coral lippies!!!!!
amy
Tuesday, February 9, 2010i think I want the coral paint pot!
Tavia
Tuesday, February 9, 2010Hi Christine! Thanks for mentioning me as the source. :) I’m really happy.
Ceriene
Tuesday, February 9, 2010Neutral eye shadows and a coral paint pot? This is right up my alley. :]
Marcela
Wednesday, February 10, 2010I’m so relieved that this collection didn’t catch my attention, since I will be saving to buy the MAC “To The Beach” collection, now that one is totally worth buying almost everything. =-)
Dana
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Wow, I love the idea of beigey-coral colors..I’ll definitely try this collection
Ashley
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Memorabilia and Gazette Gray sound really lovely :)I like paint pots, but I’m hoping MAC comes out with some more colorful ones in green and purple tones.
Anitacska
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Looks quite dull to me, but there might be some nice products in there, hard to say, it all looks brown to me at the moment. :|
kfm
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Made to Order, Gazette Grey and Tissue Weight are interesting. The rest sounds like it might be tricky for me to wear, or sounds close to something I already have. I am forcing myself to stop buying peach/ coral blushes and purple eyeshadows…
Sans
Wednesday, February 10, 2010meh…
Cherie
Wednesday, February 10, 2010YUMMY!!! I’m in love with Corals!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the Paper Bag Princess feel :)
Sarah

Christy
Wednesday, February 10, 2010I’m not too excited about this collection, except for the new Paint Pot and Gazette Gray Eye Shadow.
alisha

Jessie
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Coral Paint pot! OMG yes!
That and a couple of the shadows are all I’m lemming from this lol
Alexis
Wednesday, February 10, 2010Ooooh Coral Crepe paint pot? I’m listening! Again there are only a very few items that are of interest to me so I’m not too worried. Cool looks like I will have another chance to replace my Taupe brow pencil when I run out! I really wished they would do a line of new Lustreglosses for those of us that are not fans of Lipglass!
Okay I am no longer feeling bad if I bypass Spring Forecast all together!
Dusty
Wednesday, February 10, 2010I remember hearing about/seeing swatches of the Chromagraphic Pencils months ago while I was in MAC (one of the girls was showing me some of the stuff that they saw at Update). I’m excited for these! I love the idea of a flesh-toned pencil – I wonder how they would work around the lipline? Or just under the brow? Depending on how creamy the formula is, I can imagine a ton of possibilities for these (not to mention for use in the waterline – I often use pale yellow because white is just too bright).
Bobbie C.
Wednesday, February 10, 2010coral paintpot..YES!
ocelot1
Wednesday, February 10, 2010hmm, i am intersted in the blushes, but i think i may need gazette grey e/s. and MAC can you please stop making the beige cream nail polishes? its getting old! Also, PLEASE make Studio Lash Fix Mascara in WATERPROOF!!
Emily
Wednesday, February 10, 2010this is RIGHT up my alley!
MichelleChefNYC
Wednesday, February 10, 2010OOO, a new paintpot! And lots of coral! I LOVE it… this looks fun, but def. only a few must haves for me
aradhana
Wednesday, February 10, 2010the coral paint pot and a couple of the shadows sound good…i might take a gander at the chromagraphic pencils as well….
Ryan
Wednesday, February 10, 2010The picture is beautiful and I like the name. But overall I dont think I will be getting much from this collection. Maybe that coraly lipstick and blush she is waring. Its all good because I am tottaly broke after today XD
marta

ileana
Wednesday, February 10, 2010LOOOOVVEEEE the lipsticks!!! I don’t need anymore lipsticks so why do I want these so much??!!! =(
cmferrets
Wednesday, February 10, 2010ohhh ohhh, new paint pot colors! and blushes and e;s!!@! cant wait !i kind like it when mac has repromotes or colors from the perm line in their collection, bc then it gives me time to save , so then i dont have to spend so much, either i have the stuff from prev collection, or can wait to get the perm item… rIGHT???!!=)
cmferrets
Wednesday, February 10, 2010u know what…… im rea;;y suprised they didnt have this coral paint pot come out with the mac beach 2010 collecttion. weird!
idakz
Wednesday, February 10, 2010i am eyeing on that first two lippies from the left and both the nail lacquers!
Joan
Wednesday, February 10, 2010I’m definitely picking up the Coral Crepe paint pot and dressmaker, dressmaker lipstick (:
rachel
Wednesday, February 10, 2010I can’t wait to see if Coral Crepe is anything like Perky.. or if it’s more opaque! Either way, I already consider it apart of my collection, woot!
Casey
Thursday, February 11, 2010I love the archetype lipstick….may have to pick this one up when it comes out!
Rita
Thursday, February 11, 2010Yay, more corals – paint pot, blush & lippies – for my birthday!
Ashley
Thursday, February 11, 2010i’ll probably be skipping out on this one!
ak
Thursday, February 11, 2010All of the lipsticks sound good and if Kraft is even BETTER looking than Empowered, then I’ll be buying two of the Krafts!
I want to look at Gazette Grey eye shadow as well. The Mineralize blush sounds good and the other blushes sound alright as well. But Christine what does a Chromagraphic Pencil do exactly? Also when does this collection come out internationally, particularly Britain?
VJNS
Thursday, February 11, 2010According to the dictionary, “chroma” means:
1. the purity of a color, or its freedom from white or gray.
2. intensity of distinctive hue; saturation of a color.
Verrry interesting.
Helena
Friday, February 12, 2010Ahh it kills me that they’re repromoting Archetype, since Akexander McQueen died today :/
Zinnia
Saturday, February 13, 2010i really want to see the paint pot
liana
Saturday, February 13, 2010Gazette Grey sounds unique, I think thats all that intrests me in this collection, and maybe dressmaker dressmaker l/p, cuz i work in a dress shop lol.
Andrea
Saturday, February 13, 2010Sweet.
Tessa
Monday, February 15, 2010Oh jesus! This looks great.
My shopping list:
Chromagraphic pencil (maybe both)
Coral Crepe paint pot
Dressmaker, Dressmaker lipstick (definitely)
Brown bag nail polish
Made to Order lipstick (probably)
…and maybe both blushes, but I’ll wait on swatches
Ouch.
Paola
Monday, February 15, 2010woohoo!!! a new paint pot!!! i’m all over that!!!
esmey
Monday, February 15, 2010Do you know what kind of finish the coral paint pot is going to be??? i hope its a matte paint pot !:)
Roseline
Tuesday, February 16, 2010What are paint pots for? LOLOL. I’m so confused. I’ve heard so much about them. But what are they? Are they multi-purpose? Ty! <3
ak
Wednesday, February 17, 2010If you have oily eyelids or that you find that your eye makeup keeps slipping and moving throughout the day the MAC Paint Pots are your friend because they are a very good base under your eye makeup so that it can all stay in one place all day. Paint Pots work even better than just using face powder underneath your eye makeup.
Rosanna
Wednesday, February 17, 2010Did they just increase the price for paint pots?
Paint Pots are originally $20 CDN but in this collection they are $22 CDN!
The just increased the prices on the palettes on the website too! Grr…that means I might have to stock up on paint pots before this increase happens T_T
Rosanna
Friday, February 19, 2010They’re also discontinuing their “colour” paint pots (Delft, Fresco Rose & Artifact)!
Get them before they’re gone!
ak
Wednesday, February 17, 2010The more I look at this collection’s pictures, the more I want to see it. I think I’d like to buy 2 Kraft listicks, a Made To Order lipstick, the Gazette Grey eyeshadow, and I may still yet want to at least see if the darker Chromagraphic pencil can work for me (however they work!) and I’d still like to at least try on the Archetype lipstick maybe even the Fold and Tuck lipglass, and look at the 2 blushes and the Mineralize blush too!
Mia
Friday, February 19, 2010this reminds me a lot like da warm and cozy collection…
Emily
Sunday, February 21, 2010oh. my. gosh. i really want the paint pots, and a lipstick :)

Monday, March 1, 2010Are the Chromagraphic Pencils really a permanent at MAC PRO?
I do not see it on the MAC PRO website; maybe I overlooked it. Errr.
Christine
Monday, March 1, 2010They’re not out yet!
Leigh
Wednesday, March 3, 2010Not digging any of this… Dressmaker, Dressmaker looks pretty, but I’m disappointed to see so many permanent things. :(
Marilona G.
Thursday, March 4, 2010Ohh… Okay. I know this line did not launch yet but this post made it sound like Chromagraphic Pencils are currently sold in PRO stores.
Exciting! Can’t wait to try them.
This website is great! =)
Christy Lin

silverred09
Friday, March 12, 2010this looks like an altered version of some other collection… i don’t know, they don’t stand out for me as of now
Chennel
Friday, March 12, 2010Like the eyeshadows, and I am a paint pot junkie so I have to get the coral crepe paint pot… already have groundwork.
Emma
Friday, March 12, 2010I don’t really understand.. Are all of the products in limited edition packaging or not?
Christine
Friday, March 12, 2010No, I believe they’re in the regular black packaging!
LesleyKat
Friday, March 12, 2010pass on all except the pencils. i likey those.
Silvia
Friday, March 12, 2010Finally a new paint pot :)
Yuliya
Friday, March 12, 2010is the packaging button-esque like in the promo pic or regular mac like the other pictures? the wooden button thing might be cute =]
i might just get the peach shadows and the permanent paintpot
Christine
Friday, March 12, 2010It’s just in regular packaging as far as I know! I think this was just for promo shots!
MakeupMole
Friday, March 12, 2010Mmmm, this looks good! Loving all these corals for spring/summer. I’m going to be needing some of these!
jessica
Friday, March 12, 2010OMG!! i need to get my hands on that paint pot!
stephanie
Friday, March 12, 2010I am excited about this line. Nothing else from MAC has my attention until then. I really like the paint pot. I hope its a flat/matte, like painterly, groundwork and bare study.
light over dark mineralize blush is pretty. My friend has it and loves it. not sure if i want to get that or the blushes
Meg
Friday, March 12, 2010A couple of these look muddy to me but I am loving all the peach tones and Memorabelia es is definitely worth a look in person! I like the promotional pictures for these too with the paper buttons.
Mirna
Friday, March 12, 2010Christine,
I have a question for you. When collections repromote items, do they use the same name?
Thank you.
alice
Friday, March 12, 2010Love the mid-toned brown lipstick, and love that it’s an Amplified formula. The paint pots look pretty too.
Katie
Friday, March 12, 2010This collection doesn’t really interest me, but I’m looking forward to the Mac To the Beach collection :)
Tattoo Girl
Friday, March 12, 2010Coral paint pot and the new eyeshadows are mine!!!!!
leslie
Friday, March 12, 2010Chromagraphic pencils?? For the waterline? YAYYYY! Burjois(?) had one called cafe and cream. The cream looked good on medium to dark skin tones instead of stark white.
M
Friday, March 12, 2010This is in my opinion one of the most wearable and cutesy collections mac has ever come out with. I absolute love it which is rare for me to say about mac. I want to buy so much I can’t wait for the swatches!
Jenna
Friday, March 12, 2010The Dressmaker, Dressmaker lipstick is sounding really beautiful.
Shelly
Wednesday, March 17, 2010Agreed!
Alexis
Friday, March 12, 2010Yes, loving the coral p/p, some of the e/s sounds really interesting. I’d love to check out the lipsticks too.
Alyssamae.
Friday, March 12, 2010Awww I wish the packaging was similar to that of the first photo =/
katt
Friday, March 12, 2010Some of it seems kind of redundant… but there are some of these things I definitely need in my life! The coral paint pot, whichever lipstick the model is wearing, the bamboo and the gazette eyeshadows and the coral blush…
Dana
Friday, March 12, 2010I might get one of the lipsticks and the LE paint pot but other than that this collection doesn’t do anything for me.
Lindsay
Friday, March 12, 2010A NEW PAINT POT?! HOLLLLA!! I wonder how similar it is to Perky from the Fafi collection.
Sharon
Friday, March 12, 2010Nothing in this collection really appeals to me. More money for others, I guess! I don’t have a lot of MAC cosmetics yet but want to expand my eyeshadow collection.
Valerie
Friday, March 12, 2010Christine one question: in the promo pic there is special packaging but in the product photos not, what will it be??
Christine
Friday, March 12, 2010Black
Valerie
Friday, March 12, 2010How sad… Why do so gorgeous packaging promo pics..
vel
Friday, March 12, 2010All the coral stuff I’m definatly getting!
Tanya
Friday, March 12, 2010Im confused….is it the normal black packaging or is it that interesting recycled paper kinda looking package?
Michelle M
Friday, March 12, 2010OMG! I’m a readhead and this collection is so completely up my alley! I want everything!
rowan
Friday, March 12, 2010not impressed
