Thanks to Google for alerting us when Polki updated with the latest info on the re-release of Slimshines!  (It is so great to be asleep and see the alert in the morning, all the leg work is done, yes!)  The launch of Slimshines will feature seven new shades as well as several relaunches (as per Specktra) of past shades.  I am surprised Kissable wasn’t there, as I remember that was a fan favorite.  Oh, well, I never use mine myself!

How do you feel about Slimshines?  Did you love them before?  Happy they’re returning?

I have no idea, but judging from descriptions, I think it might be Grenadier. I want to say they’re more likely to use a new shade rather than old shade in a promo photo!

Oh, thanks! Yes, I think they would too. I don’t think it’s an old one, didn’t see it last time around.

Is the Rock Out color Blue or a blue based Pink? Specktra has the translation as a clean blue Pink. :)
I also am curious which is the color in the promo photo cause its sooooo pretty!

The translation is from Polish, so it’s hard to know. Wish I had a Polish speaker :D

hmmmm….I really hope its a blue pink & not a blue, lol. I have no use for a blue lippie! :D

Since I’ve been a MAC addict of less than a year, I’m afraid I’ve never encountered these before. I’m curious to see how they’re different than regular lipstick.

They’re very smooth and moisturizing – they’re fairly good in color pay off, but they have a glossy sheen.

I never got a chance to try them so I’m excited they’re coming back!

Among the MAC lipsticks, I love slimshines. I’ve got it in Most Wanted. Don’t forget to recommend your favorite shade so I can check it out in February. Happy New Year, Christine!

I haven’t tried the slimshine yet…but I must say that picture is grossing me out. That nail is so long *shivers*

I really like the slimshines, i have it in Scant and I must say it’s a beautiful color and texture. Very moisturizing for me. And I’m also curious as to what color is on that promo pic, it’s very vibrant.

I love how moisturizing they are, too! I think it’s Grenadier, but I have no clue. It’s just a guess!

What makes slimshines so different? Oh and I totally agree the lenght of that nail is freaky. But the color is nice, seems everyone likes the color.

They’re very smooth and moisturizing have decent color pay off and veryyyy glossy.

Slimshines are pretty, but I find it pricey. It’s only half as much as a full sized MAC lipstick, but for the same price.

I think the problem with Slimshines is that the product gets used much faster than lipsticks do!

Cool, I only have one & love it I cant wait to get more.

But what does blue-red lipstick mean. I get so confused with all the different reds.

    • Christine

      Monday, December 31, 2007

Hey Ashlee! Most reds are either blue based or orange/yellow based… blue reds are deeper, cooler, while orange or yellow based reds are brighter and tend to go on “orange” on some people.

My favorite Slimshines are Kissable, Bare, Long Stem Rose, and Urgent. I can’t wait for these to come back out. They are so moisturizing and give such a great shine. Yeah for Slimshines! :)
