Looks – Easy Daytime, Office, Work Approved Makeup with a Kick

Date: March 28, 2008 - Posted in: Brown, Looks, Neutral

This is part of a tutorial that is “coming soon,” about how to go from daytime look to darker daytime look to subtle evening look to dramatic evening look. Yesterday, I posted the first version of the look – incredibly neutral, all-matte eyeshadow – and here is the same look kicked up a notch for those who need a little more step in an everyday look. The difference? Simply darkened the crease with Brun eyeshadow!

I used Soft Ochre paint pot all over lid, Blanc Type eyeshadow on inner lid, Bisque eyeshadow on middle of lid, Soft Brown eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Brun eyeshadow in outer crease, Blanc Type eyeshadow above crease and on brow, Feline kohl power on lower lash line, Brun eyeshadow on brows, and Plushblack mascara on lashes. I wore True Romantic blush on cheeks with Tenderdusk beauty powder to highlight. I had Sweetie lipstick with Dreamy lipglass on my lips.

Thanks, Tiffany! Yep, it was cut recently (I’m so bad about getting it cut, I think I went 3 months without a trim, and he lopped a bit more than I wanted off!), but it’s been getting mixed reactions.

No, I didn’t get it colored! This is my natural color.

I think the cut makes you look more fun and flirty! The waves are hot.
The eyes are of course, super cute!

MAC :) They’re both permanent items – I made sure to use ONLY permanent colors for this look!

Thanks, Julia! Sweetie is one of my faves, too! It’s my closest to perfect pink for a lipstick.

Those are good colour choices for work. I would suggest that you blend your crease in a little more into the inner eye. You will notice a much smoother look. Right now, the colours don’t really blend into each other.

Thanks so much for all of these office-friendly looks, Christine! Personally, I think Work Looks should be an official weekly occurrence here. ;) “The Weekly Office Look.” Heh heh. I can always use new ideas since I find myself using the same ones over and over again. It’s really annoying! Anyway, thanks again for this. I especially love this one! I need Soft Ochre.

No problem, Skyler! I’m here to help, ha!

Maybe I’ll do that. I’ll certainly try to get soem more neutral looks up for others to get inspired by! Thanks :)

That really sucks that your stores are out of True Romantic :( Do you have Petalpoint? I found that’s quite similar (it was LE, but you might have it…).
