Illamasqua Paranormal Collection for Summer 2013
Illamasqua Paranormal Collection for Summer 2013

This summer Illamasqua opens the doorway to another dimension. Dare to come in? To go where you have never been before? This new collection summons you to channel your extra sensory perception and step across the threshold into a parallel reality. After all, why be normal, when you can be paranormal?

It is time to awaken the aura you have repressed for so long by exploring another universe of unexpected textures and formulas. Embrace the distorted reflection in a cracked mirror or the candle that suddenly extinguishes in a sealed room; a window has opened, allowing you to penetrate the fragile membrane of a twin existence, the Paranormal world.

“The Paranormal collection was inspired by unbridled kinetic energy, spectral light and transcendental emotional forces. The things we can’t explain, that we can only feel, the place between dreams and reality; the door of perception is open and is beckoning you through, step into the light!” — Creative Director, Alex Box

“Paranormal is something that is out of your ordinary world, it’s something from a parallel world, a parallel universe, something that is going on at the same time but you can’t really see it or touch it.” — Brand Director, Joseph Corré

“Paranormal is about a sense of something different, a sense of expression through texture and colour that shifts the expected and normal to something from a different dimension, a paranormal part of our expressive and spiritual mind.” — Director of Product Development, David Horne

  1. Sadly, I’m not jumping up and down for this collection. The greyed purple lipstick is really intriguing and maybe a polish, but the rest isn’t for me.

I recently picked up a couple more illamasqua blushes at Illamasqua.com and my fav of the three I chose is Hussy. With my blush purchase, I received a complementary skin illuminator in this gorgeous rosey gold colour. It looks so beautiful on cheeks. I don’t know if the promo is still on, but it’s a really nice free gift if you are looking to pick up a blush or two.

Alex Box is a genius ! Beautiful pictures and very colourful collection.

  3. ‘Supernatural’ looks promising. I love the promotional photos!

  4. Some of this stuff looks great!

  5. Those promo photos are so cool :-O

    Rats! No new blush shades.

  7. Whoa! That greyed lavender/mauve looks awesome. The UV nail polish, and the gel liner… I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for the entirety of an Illamasqua collection, I usually am just drawn to one or two items!! While it isn’t so summery to me, I can really see this working for the coming fall and winter. Please say you’ll be reviewing some of this!!

  8. liz

Illamasqua really never fails to deliver! The photos are stunning, and as perfect as the models look, you can see pores on their skin, aka no (or minimal) retouching!!!! Makes me all excited and happy!

    I want it all!

Love that it’s the summer release. Far more interesting than the usual big name palette. Illamasqua is so very creative.

  10. Caroline

Those eyeshadows are GORGEOUS – so colourful!!

Want the liner, need that mauve lipstick.

    Dammit, Illamasqua!

Thank you thank you THANK you Illamasqua for offering a non Tan and Bronze summer collection. If I’m at the beach, I love summer. Otherwise I’m in a Lana Del Rey Summertime Sadness mood and my favorite parts are the wild thunderstorms we get in the summer that cheer me up to no end.

Beautiful! I’d absolutely wear the 2nd/5th promo shot look! I wish we could get Illamasqua in Canada :(

    • You can order directly from their UK website at Illamasqua.com for delivery to Canada. I order from them all the time. You get the complete line of products to choose from as well and bypass the limited offerings of Sephora entirely.

  14. Alice

I really hope you get to review this collection, including nail polishes!! :D

  15. Amanda

I want to try out Hydra Veil so badly! I don’t even use primer, but the texture looks awesome…kinda reminds me of playing with Gak as a kid. :P I hope Sephora.com carries it soon.

  16. Vic

LOVE the eyeshadows, so picking them up!!! Hope, they live up to the promises!

  17. I have TOO much lipstick so I didn’t get any (even though I’ve yet to try Illamasqua’s lipstick formula). I ordered the palette and Supernatural yesterday though :) Skipped the nail polishes but I was too curious about the shadow formula… and sadly my love of the TV show forces me to purchase anything called Supernatural ;) LOL!

  18. MACAddict22

Love this collection. So genuis! I was suppose to be on a “no buy” until the Fall collections, but I just can’t resist anything purple. I ordered both lipsticks. Sadly I wanted a purple blush but couldn’t find one. Maybe next time.

If you want purple blush, and are ok using loose powder blushes, you should check out Fyrinnae. They have several purple blushes and a mauve one, some of which look like they’d match these lipsticks :)

  19. Wow! so many things in this collection sound awesome! I’m excited to see how the gel liner and the primer perform, and the colors of the shadows and lipsticks look really fun.

  20. Knowing Sephora, we probably won’t see the UV nail polish. I did my own write up on this, very excitedly. You included details about products unlike another blogger who had to guess what the Hydra Veil was. Interesting note: the pink glows orange, the purple glows kind of pink, and the clear top coat glows, of course, bright purple-blue like the “clear” glowsticks.

Illamasqua is always stepping up their game and bringing out new, interesting products. Do I need UV Nail Polish? No. Do I want it? YES!!!

  22. Lolly

Oh Illamasqua… You outdo yourself again on promo photos. Very nice.

  23. dia

Eeeeee! Purple purple purple! I love it. I am side-eyeing the press though, especially since “unknown consistency” isn’t a great way to describe your eyeshadow.

  24. Profile wp-user-avatar wp-user-avatar-60 alignnone photo of Vanessa Vanessa

Ah-wow. I am loving everything about this.

  25. Mietta

MMmm. I really though Paranormal for some reason was going to be more…alien-esque? Also, I’m really getting sick of purple lipsticks. Even in MACs Temperture Rising there is a purple, reminiscent of the famous Violetta. I’ll check it out and probably end up buying the lippies (I sort of collect them) but will pass on much of everything else I think. UV nailpolishes are a neat idea but I’m trying to think, when am I under a UV light?? =S If I got it, it would just be a waste of money for me! Shame, I really did (and in some respects still do) love Illamasqua.

    • Why don’t you love Illamasqua anymore? You know, they’re great nail shades even if you don’t go under black lights often. Black light effect is more of a bonus than a rule that you HAVE to see them in a black light to like them.

Those shades of violet are right up my alley! So ghostly!
I am particularly eyeing the Posture lipstick, since it seems like it’d be a great (and more ethical) dupe to Lime Crime’s Chinchilla.

    • Luke

I agree, posture looks really neat and ethical , truly cruelty free (at least for now, I hope they never sell out to China).

I love the promo pic of girl with pink flower accessory on her hand, so neat!

  27. Mimi XO

Hi Christine, Is Posture close to Blooming lovely (color only) and/or Lime Crime’s Chinchilla???? How about ESP is it close to MUFE rouge artist #15 (color only)????
