The First Blush of Spring: Illamasqua Katie Blush
Illamasqua Katie Blush ($23.00) is an ultra pale pastel pink with a matte finish. It has good color pay off, but it is extremely light in color. I don’t think it’s quite as pigmented as several of the other shade variastions I’ve tried in their powder blush line, though. Personally, I found it didn’t work on my skin tone; the paleness washed me out and made me look sickly. I think this is a shade very well suited for those with more porcelain complexions–could see it looking very spring-y and natural (and not sickly!).
Illamasqua’s blushes are nice for matte, pigmented color. The packaging isn’t my cup of tea (too bulky), but I like that the top is clear, so you can see the color without having to open the compact. Illamasqua brushes are a slightly cheaper investment ($23 to $25) than NARS blushes, though you get a little less (0.02 oz. to be precise). So far, all of the blushes I’ve tried by Illamasqua have had matte finishes, so it’s easy to wear them and have them turn out natural-looking. You can always brush on a highlighter if you want a shimmery look–but you don’t have to, which is nice. Everyone needs a few matte blushes in their life!

o0o0o0o i guess being pale skinned has its perks. =) i like pale pinks for blush but never could find the right color, i shall check this one out when i get a chance.
I actually really want this color... mostly because it has my name! Thank you for swatching it. I also have very pale skin so I think it will work on me. :)
this looks delicious in the pan. I could really see it washing out certain skin tones, but it also looks like it might lend itself to some funky, aggressive looks that don't always have to take what objectively "looks good" into account. it seems that those sort of, I almost want to say editorial looks, might be what illamasqua is best for
It looks nice swatched on your skin, strangely enough though ever illamasqua blush I've swatched on my hands has a very chalky consistency. Believe me, I tried them all and not one did I like.
I like the color, it's really pretty, but I'm not crazy about blushes. I only own one and it's enough :)
Pretty color! :) I wish I wasn't so scared to wear blush (my biggest fear is overdoing the blush and having too much color on my face). Once I get over that I'll probably buy this blush and many more.
Aww, don't be scared!! :) You can use a stippling brush like the 187 if you are scared of overdoing it!
Christine? I want to buy a blush from them online, I find i have similar taste in blush as u. What is your fav colour from their blush collection?
I love this blush! It's an A++++. If it's too light for your skintone..that's not the blushes fault. lol.
I've been desperate to try their products but they cost too much for me and the reoccuring problem of having no Sephora near me and no way to order their products online being still in high school. Still, their products are beautiful and their advertising is just so "me" compared to other companies that focus on appealing to everyday wear. I appreciate companies that are more artistic in their advertising to show the full range of their products and that should have no effect on the average woman's choice to shop there since everyone is going to wear their makeup differently. But anyways, that's the end of my rant, haha.
This is my everyday blush, it does work really well on pale skin tones. Have you tried Sin Christine? It looks so scary in the pan but it look so pretty on!
The colour reminds me of a pinker Benefit Dandelion, which is a highlighter to me, but for lighter skin babes it could be a blush.
This looks similar to MAC's Well Dressed? I love the color! And tis the type of thing that shows up nicely on my NC 15 skin.
