Clinique Mightiest Maraschino Chubby Stick Intense
Clinique Mightiest Maraschino Chubby Stick Intense

Clinique Mightiest Maraschino Chubby Stick Intense ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “classic red.” It’s a rich, vibrant cherry red with strong blue undertones and a natural sheen. MAC Ronnie Red is very comparable. Guerlain Calligraphy #5 is pinker. NARS Dragon Girl is darker, bluer-based. MAC Ruby Woo is darker.

It applied evenly and smoothly without tugging or pulling on the lip when applied straight from the pencil. I didn’t experience any feathering or bleeding during the six hours this wore for–and there was a soft red stain left behind that lingered for another hour or so. The consistency is lightweight and thin, but comfortable, as it doesn’t cling and get sucked into the lips. I didn’t find this shade hydrating, though it was not drying. ┬áThe color coverage is very nearly opaque, which isn’t quite the “perfect” in-between sheer and opaque as described–so that might be to your advantage or not!

Clinique Mightiest Maraschino Chubby Stick Intense Review, Photos, Swatches

A-
I wish it was more hydrating, because that's part of the appeal of the Chubby Stick formula. It's also nearly full coverage, even though it's listed as medium coverage.

I still cannot believe that these sticks pack such a punch of colour. Now i will definitely have to check these (really, Clinique??…’chubby’?…) out.

  2. Omg, the colour is so gorgeous! I’m currently using Chunky Cherry and I love it!

  3. A dupe for Ronnie Red, you say?? I am intrigued :D

I have this in my purse right now, and love it. It’s a pretty color, and flexible too. My skin’s a light neutral-cool, sallow with ruddy patches (joy). My face functions like a sifter for 75% of colors, and this one passed.

  5. looks absolutely gorgeous!

  6. This really is pigmented, moreso than I expected. A pretty shade on you! I love the idea of these sort of lip products, pencil-style, but I had a mini size from some GWP from Clinique of this and I found it really moved throughout the day, I had color OUTside my lips, which has never happened to me before

  7. they look so amazing on you!!!

I find this one somewhat hydrating, or at least it doesn’t dry out my lips. I like it a lot, and I don’t normally like bright reds :)

  9. Lovely color! Would using a transparent lip balm on top fix the dryness issue or would that mess it all up?

Oh, come to me, my pretty. I’ll take a good blue-based red anytime, anywhere. :D

  11. Wow this one is so pigmented but still looks nice and light, somehow. Clinique did such a great job with these!! :D

  12. This shade is gorgeous!!!

  13. kEG

This color is my favorite one in the chubby sticks

I’m really starting to love these after reading your reviews on them! I feel like at this price point they allow me to experiment with colors I wouldn’t normally try! Also, they all look so pretty on you!!

  15. Christineeeee …. you are looking soooooo pretty :D :D

  16. I love chubby sticks, they’re so easy to apply!
