Chanel Tweed Fuchsia Blush
Chanel Tweed Fuchsia Tissages de Chanel

Chanel Holiday 2010: Tweed Fuchsia

Chanel Tweed Fuchsia Tissages de Chanel ($45.00 for 0.19 oz.) is a cotton candy pink with slight blue undertones. It has golden shimmer patterned on the top of the blush, but underneath, it’s much subtler and interlaced with the blush itself. It’s almost like micro-glitter rather than regular shimmer, but a lot of it seems to disappear or get eaten up by the brush, so the effect isn’t like a disco ball. (And again, much of the glittery bits are overspray and will be gone after a use or two.)

Tweed Fuchsia, like several of the other Tweed varieties, does feel like it has a little more shimmer than the Joue Contrastes, which have a glowier kind of look when worn. The blue undertone of this pink isn’t too strong, though it gets stronger the heavier the color is used. When I wore it on my cheeks, it almost looked neutral! It also layered well, so you could build up the color for a more intense cheek or keep it soft for an everyday look.

It’s a pretty pink, but it’s a shade I’ve definitely seen before–if you have Pink Explosion from fall, you might find this quite easy to pass by.

  • Product: 28/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

RECOMMENDATION: This is a flattering shade of pink on both cool and warm skin tones, because it doesn’t lean too blue.  It’s also buildable, which makes it more versatile as you can pair it with heavier, smokier or barely-there looks.  However, you may want to check your stash to see if you have something similar.

Product & Review FAQ

Where can I purchase Tweed Fuchsia? How much is it?

Chanel, $45.00.

Is it limited edition?

Any dupes?

It's a softer version of NARS Angelika, darker version of MAC Well Dressed but less blue (and lighter) than MAC Pink Swoon, less lilac than MAC Briar Rose, and very reminiscent of Chanel Pink Explosion.

    You look absolutely glowing !

  2. So pretty! Really need this! :)

  3. Sofia

It doesn’t have much to do with the post, but I was wondering if you know which orange lipstick is this?

It was seen on Loewe spring summer 2010 show:

    Hope that you can help!

  4. Kerri

Christine, would it be possible to see a side by side swatch of Pink Explosion & this blush?
    Thanks :)

  5. Dani

I really love this! I have Well Dressed but I think I’m going to get this too :)

  6. Eleanor

    Wow! I absolutely LOVE that!

  7. So pretty, I really want it.

  8. Christa

Did you not try out the blush under the light pink overspray on top? Underneath is a much darker fushcia that I think will swatch quite differently and not too similar to Pink Explosion.

    • I took off the top 2 layers and that’s how it swatched – this is the darker pink shade that dominates this blush. The top layer was really light, so I didn’t include a swatch of that, since it’s the effect of overspray.

  9. Elysia

love love looove! It looks a lot more purple-y on the skin

  10. Love the pattern….the tweed pattern. The color looks very pretty on you…:)

  11. Can you tell which color from NARS, MAC or DIOR would be similar to this? I have NARS DESIRE, MAC PINKSWOON, PLEASANTRY…can you give any idea.

  12. I like it! It really reminds me a lot of Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked Brush in Living Doll.

  13. Cristina

Love this! I may have to get it since I don’t have any true pink blush. Btw…have you seen Guerlain’s new foundation Lingerie de Peau? If not I thi k you will love it!

  14. Stephanie

Looks good on you. And loving whatever’s on your lips.

  15. I love it! It looks so fresh and suit you a lot!

  16. baby in a corner

this is sooo pretty! I love these blue pink colours. I love your reviews too, they really are spot on about the joues contraste being ‘glowy’ when applied

  17. Nellie

I love this blush! My skin is on the lighter end of medium, but it’s very, very warm, so I have a lot of trouble wearing pink blush. But this works perfectly on me!

  18. Eileen

When I first saw this, I thought it was going to be over the top and that I’d never be able to get away with such a bright pink. So, it was with reluctance that I let my favorite Chanel MA apply it to my cheeks with a fan brush. As she was applying the rest of my make-up, people kept commenting on the beautiful blush and asking what it was called. Finally, I asked to see a mirror and was completely taken aback by how utterly natural and pretty it was. Sold! It gave my complexion a lovely soft flush of color. With my coloring, I actually like it better than Pink Explosion. So, i’d say that if it’s the brightness in the pan that’s giving you pause, be brave and give it a try. You can see how beautiful it is on Christine.

  19. Michelle Renee

That is one of the most beautiful blushes I have ever seen! I don’t know what it is with me and rosy pink blushes.. I’m also digging the gold shimmer and pretty pattern Chanel has added to this one. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive :( any blush over $20 is too expensive for me. However, it looks great on you :)

  20. Lisa

what are you wearing on your lips? so pretty!

  21. Elusive

    This looks gorgeous!

It’s quite cool-toned but I might buy it and wait until my tan wears off a bit to wear it.

  22. Grace

Oh my gosh Christine! What are you wearing on your lips in the photo? It looks great!

  23. This is somewhat expensive for me! :p I like cheap and cheerful.

  24. aradhana

i love your full face pic…so pretty!

btw…what are you wearing on your lips?

  25. Amy

Christine, I love your lipstick in this photo, what are you wearing? Totally going to buy whatever it is!

  26. Loquita

I love this blush, but then again, I am obsessed with Pink Explosion – both are surprisingly wearable for those with very warm-toned skin like myself. If I hadn’t just bought a back-up of Pink Explosion, I would get this one as well – thanks for your comments comparing the two, Christine! You saved me some money. :)

  27. Nancy

I purchased this along with the matching Nail polish. I am Loving it!!!

  28. Evelyn

Maybe it’s the testers in the stores but I couldn’t get the color to show on my skin and I’m an NC15! It’s so pretty I’m going to have to give it another try even though I do have Well-Dressed. :)

  29. Lah

    it’s so gourgeous *-*
if i bought one i think i wouldn’t have courage to use it

  30. Perri

pretty packaging but the color doesn’t have enough payoff.

  31. LU

I like the shimmer in this, and this post has perfect timing because with winter coming I am gonna stop using my bronzey blushes and was looking for a new pink blush, specifically towards well dressed and pink swoon! I still consider this a splurge, but this looks so pretty I have to check it out!

  32. I must have this! I hope it’s as flattering on dark skin as I think it will be. We shall see.

  33. shuz4ever

Christine love the whole look of your make-up. Can u share what u have on u’r lips and eyes please.

  34. DonnaN

How would this compare to either MAC’s Azalea Blossom or Guerlain’s Cherry Blossom? Those are the only two blushes I own that seem more pink than coral. I really LOVE this blush and if its a nice pink, I may splurge…..

  35. ellie

Which do you think is nicer pink explosion or this one? Thanks.

  36. Isn’t this just the most beautiful product you can imagine?
Love the gold flecks in the pink, but the price is just too steep.
However, I think this is amazingly beautiful.

  37. amy

This looks pretty and flattering, but not exactly over the top unique.

  38. Brynn

Is the whole collection officially out now? It’s on Saks’ website but they don’t have Tweed Fuschia which is what caught my eye about the collection. :( Am I out of luck?

  39. Jennie

Whatever you’re wearing on your eyes looks beautiful :)

  40. I’d want to buy this just to be able to look at it anytime I want. Chanel always does the most beautiful textures and colors!

  41. Vvn

I was wondering about getting this when it is released in the UK, this will definitely be added to my collection!
Have you tried Tweed Pink? I was thinking about purchasing it too, but I’m about an NC30-35 skin, I’m afraid it will be too light and make me look ashy, I’d really like to know your opinion on this?
