Chanel Triomphal Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss
Chanel Triomphal Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss
Chanel Triomphal Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss ($32.00 for oz.) is described as a “shimmering red,” and it’s a new–but limited edition–shade for the holidays. It’s a bright, blue-based pink-tinted red with pink and ruby red sparkly flakes. It applies evenly and yields mostly opaque color–there’s a slight translucency to it. MAC Driven by Love is redder, less pink. MAC Wicked Ways is brighter but closer in color.
The Extrait de Gloss formula is supposed to deliver rich color and intense shine with a gel texture that’s comfortable (and not sticky) and looks “luminous [and] full … for hours.” The English description of the name actually calls it out as a “Long Wear Lip Gloss.” I find the formula isn’t sticky at first, but it develops a slight tackiness over the first half hour that continues for the remainder of the time worn. It’s not overly tacky, just barely so. These wear three to four hours on me, which is about average, but nothing long-wear for me–Chanel’s Glossimers last three to four hours, so I would imagine these would have worn longer than that. Triomphal wore four hours well but looked faded by the fifth hour. The texture is smooth, gel-like, and it is comfortable to wear and not drying over time.
Where to Buy: Nordstrom, $32
The Glossover
It's a great holiday red with an underlying pink tint that makes it look less like a really bold, in-your-face red. It's also cooler-toned, so it will compliment cooler skin tones; but the pinkness will enable it to work well on warmer skin tones, too.

Product & Review FAQ
Where can I purchase it? How much is it?
Nordstrom, $32.
Is it limited edition?
Yes.
Any dupes?
MAC Driven by Love is redder, less pink. MAC Wicked Ways is brighter but closer in color.
Did you experience any bleeding from it? I purchased it and find it makes me look like I have clown makeup on after a few hours!
Hey Christine, you look so pretty! I was wondering what you are wearing on your face. I have already read that you are wearing Chanel Tweed blush in Brun (brun rose?). Would you please tell me what foundation and highlighter you are wearing? Thanks, greets from Germany (I post my question the sedond time, because there was the "comment approval text" instead of an answer ;-)
I just tried on this gloss. I am fair with blue eyes a this color looks great on me. I didn't buy because I would rather it be in the Rouge Allure Laque line. The SA told me Chanel will slowly phase out the Laques :-(, so I bought another Phoenix.
Wow, I really love it but Chanel is a bit too rich for my blood most of the time so I looked into MAC Driven by Love. Excited cause I really loved the color and seemed similar enough that I liked it, but the price comparison is ridiculous! $18.50 for .06 oz versus $32 for .28! Who knew Chanel would come out on top as a better value deal?! LOL

you are looking absolutely Divine Christine :D ..... so gorgeous this color is ... and it adds brightness to your face i must say :D .... i saw this the other day on counters and was actually about to buy ..but am glad you mentioned Wicked Ways .... i will def. swatch them side by side :D ... once again ... beautiful color on you
I HAD to buy this as soon as I saw your pics! Phenomenal. Thanks for providing the affiliate link--I feel it's only right since I would have never discovered this otherwise :D
I love it, this lip gloss looks perfect on you - almost as if you applied lipstick and then clear gloss over.
Hi, Christine! This gloss looks absolutely gorgeous on you. Also, I was wondering, what blush are you wearing in the picture? It looks really nice!
It's pretty, but my heart is set on getting Chanel Dragon.I wonder which would suit my NC44/45 skin better, this or Chanel Dragon?
Honestly, either will :) They're not the same color - Dragon is definitely red, this is more pinky-red.
Hey everyone!!! I just bought this lip gloss at Macy's and the saleswoman recommended layering another gloss called "Liaison" over Triumphal for some extra shimmer. AMAZING!!! It looks so beautiful! Liaison only comes in a holiday set now, which includes Liaison, Spark (another gloss which is a berry with golden shimmer, a nude liner, and a makeup bag. My point is, if this set is still available, GET IT! Liaison will look great over any lipstick if you want to add a little shimmer. :)
Also, I tried Dragon, I'm cool toned and pretty pale so it was a little too "brick red" on me. If you're like me, try this gloss instead. I love it!
I'm cool-toned and pale too, so I found Dragon's orange tones tended to stick out a bit on me, as well. It wasn't so excessive to put me off from the product, but I do think it would require a bit more work to play down the warmth. I'm still likely to buy Dragon (I can't help but love the color despite the issues), but this might be a great alternative if I change my mind.
Triomphal is a great shade. I Shyed away from it for a while but when I tried it on at the counter, I wasn't gonna leave without it.
Christine, I LOVE this lipgloss... The color is to die for! I even had to get a backup! You always do such a flawless job of applying lipgloss and lipstick! Thank you for everything you do for this blog! I always read up on what you have to say about Chanel!!! I'm an addict - that is for sure! - Cathy
Wow, I really like that color on you! :3 I might have to pick that up. I was also wondering, is it gritty at all?
What would be a similar version of this in lipstick? I love the color but I'm not much of a lipgloss person.
Now I am stuck! I am torn between this, and the holiday edition of Rouge Allure Laque. Prefer colour of this, and wear of the other!! Maybe getting both would be the best choice!!
