Chanel Empire Rouge Allure Laque
Chanel Holiday 2011: Empire Rouge Allure Laque
Chanel Empire Rouge Allure Laque ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a pop of bright, summery watermelon pink with yellow undertones and gold shimmer. I don’t think of this shade at all when I think about holiday; it reads summery to me, though I wouldn’t let that stop me from wearing it in December. It’s mostly opaque, though there is a slight translucence that allows some of the natural lip color peek through. Initially, I was worried it might compare to Chanel Phoenix, but it’s not even in the same realm; Phoenix is a vibrant, deep pink with a hint of coral. MAC Speed Dial is lighter and a little cool-toned. Guerlain Gemma is fairly similar but a touch lighter and has more of a golden sheen than shimmer.
The Rouge Allure Laque formula is best described as liquid lipstick, because it feels more like a liquid lipstick than it does a gloss; it’s thin but pigmented. It glides on with enough slip that it doesn’t feather or bleed. I wore this by itself, and it wore for five hours before starting to fade.
Where to Buy: Nordstrom, $32.00
The Glossover
This shade could be a touch more pigmented, but otherwise, I have no complaints--it applies smoothly, evenly, and wears for hours. The yellow undertones in this pink will make it easy for warmer complexions to wear.

Is it limited edition?
Yes.
Any dupes?

I actually bought it and I loved it so so much. But today as I was running up the stairs, it fell out of my pocket and broke :( I'm thinking of getting a new one, but it was so expensive already.
the color is more like ming, but more pigmented.. i love the chanel rouge allure laques, ming is my to go nude. so very likely gonna get this one after trying it on...
This shade is limited edition, but I believe most of the shades from holiday are also limited edition.
Well this is more wearable then the (fabulous) reds! At least at work/office ;-) I did not make it to al Allure Laque until now because the colour that tempted me is really not wearable but on the red carpet (I am not very often on a red carpet ;-) so I have been waiting for some office-friendly colours. Thank you for sharing - once again.
such a wonderful color! reminds me of a MAC Cremesheen Glass shade i love that now i've forgotten what's called! LOL
Really beautiful pink color!! I think of summer when I look at this shade too. But that price... x3 Out of my budget.
I really love what Chanel has come up with this Fall & Winter!! Beige Pale and all the sparkles in it would look beautiful with this. I love the Rouge Allure Lipsticks & Glossimers, but never tried the Rouge Allure Laque (Gloss) b4. This color makes me feel another trip to Nordy's is in order!! Very Pretty Christine!!
Super pretty! I'm not usually much of a lipstick gal, liquid or otherwise. I like the slight sheerness of this. I may have to spring for this one!
Wow this looks gorgeous! I haven't tried any of the rouge allure laques but this one is definitely going on my to buy list!
Aw, now I have to get this one. XD; Any idea if you'd review the Rouge Allure Gloss from this collection Christine? Or any other item from Dior Holiday Collection? Thank you! =)
That actually looks very wearable, but it looks so dark on the wand...Maybe I'll pick it up in NOLA tomorrow :)
This is a beautiful shade. I will definately pick this one up. Their liquid lipstick is the best quality I've ever seen.
I don't know if it's my screen or something (I'm in my programming class right now at school, shh), but something about this color seems off to me!
This is such a beautiful color! Christine what do u use to keep ur lips so smooth? There's never a dry patch on ur lips. Every lip product looks amazing on u!! Please let me know, I'm dying to know!
I just use Jack Black Lip Balm :) I usually exfoliate based on lip swatching alone (just the removal process), but if I want a separate exfoliator, Sara Happ's Lip Scrub!
It looks perfect for a natural look. I see what you mean when you say it doesn't look like a holiday color.
Beautiful! Are all of Chanel's products rose scented except for glossimers? Are the eyeshadows and blushes also scented? I love the last reviews you did on these products but worry about the scent.
With your coloring, Empire is a clear winner. It looks lovely on you. Although Chanel's promo pictures indicated a red and gold holiday look, I was very pleased to see that warm pinks strewn with golden micro shimmer were being offered as well. Red and light, sparkling gold is a classic combination for the holidays, but for those of us who can no longer rock a deep red lip, a warm gilded pink works as well.
LOVE this color and wish it wasn't LE. Debating if I should back it up...or bug Chanel to make it perm
