Benefit Lipsticks: Fame Game, Label Lover, No Competition, Breakup Rumor

Benefit Full Finish Lipsticks: Review, Photos, Swatches

Benefit Full Finish Lipstick ($18.00 for .10 oz.) are slim lipsticks available in fourteen different shades and two finishes (cream and pearl). Today, let’s look at four shades — Fame Game, Label Lover, No Competition, Breakup Rumor.

  • Fame Game is a soft frosty pink with silvery-white shimmer. It’s opaque and has a pearl finish.
  • Label Lover is a bronzy, russet rose kind of color with a gold-bronze shimmer and pearl finish. It goes on semi-opaque on lips.
  • No Competition is a creamy, opaque muted berry that is dark and bold, but not overly so.
  • Breakup Rumor is a shimming rosy plum with gold and rose shimmer and pearl finish. It applies mostly opaque on lips.

Benefit’s Full Finish Lipsticks are mostly opaque to opaque in color, feel creamy, and don’t leave lips dried out while you’re wearing them. They wear well (I get about six hours of wear-time with minimal drinking/light eating), too, which is always a plus. I love the shade range Benefit has, because I feel like they offer a good mix of shades that flatter many skin tones. Their pearl finishes aren’t drying in the least, as some frost-finish lipsticks often can be. I love all four of these shades, though I love the way Breakup Rumor shimmers.

The packaging is slim and compact, and it looks sleek in an all slightly shiny all-black case with Benefit’s logo wrapping around it in white. The value is so-so; it comes in as slightly more expensive (by the ounce) than Urban Decay and MAC, but it’s still less than brands like NARS and Dior.

  • Product: 9/10
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 8/10
  • Packaging: 8/10

Recommendation: If you love more opaque lip colors, these lipsticks are a great place to start your search!

These look so smooth on your lips. Label Lover looks blah when swatched, but the the color + shimmer make your lips look full pretty.

  3. Ribbons

Hmm I really doubt that Label and Breakup Rumor would show up on me, but they look like nices colors.

  6. Ladybug

I love the 3rd one, looks great! :)

  8. No Competition is definitely not a color I would have noticed at Sephora…but it looks amazing!

  9. Oh so getting Breakup Rumor, so pretty.

I love these! I am pleasantly surprised by a lot of the items Benefit puts out. These lipsticks are unsurpassed in opacity and smooth feel and the color range is gorgeous. I want Flirt Alert (a bright/true retro red) and already got one called ‘Lady’s Choice (which is a MLBB mixed with a beige tone – very lady-like indeed!

Hmm I just checked online and my new local Sephora carries way more colors than Sephora.com as does my local drugstore’s Benefit counter. (Way over 20.)

Thoses are really pretty. Too bad I’m not into lipsticks. I have some MAC slimshines and I hardly wear them…but I love them:(

Label Lover is my favorite, although it has too much beige for my liking. I’m surprised these have such great lasting power on you . . . I remember trying the shade Rocket Pop years ago, and it probably had the worst lasting power of any lippie I’ve bought. Maybe this has been reformulated?

    • Hey Valentine,

If I recall correctly, Benefit completely revamped and rolled out these lipsticks last year.

      • Rebecca

That is funny! I vaguely remember these being originally released now that you mentioned it, and I remember not liking the originals at all when I swatched them. Good job Benefit for going back to the drawing board and keeping up with trends and new products!

        • Give the new ones a swatch or two if you’re near a Benefit counter! :) They’re very creamy, moisturizing, and a lot of them are very opaque (always a plus in my book!). I never tried the original formula, so I can’t compare myself!

I think I posted above that I already got one and was buying another, unless you meant Megan? lol I know I commented more than once on this post and can be confusing.

i absolutely adore benefits shade in good to go (plum brown). Its the one that Bella wore in twilight lol! Anyway since the brand is not available in India could you please recommend a different brand that would probably have close to the same shade?
