Zoya Solange Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

Zoya Solange Nail Lacquer
Zoya Solange Nail Lacquer

Zoya Solange Nail Lacquer ($9.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “gold metal foil sparkle.” It’s a medium yellow gold with gold shimmer/sparkle and a matte, sparkle finish. (It’s part of the PixieDust formula, which is a textured formula that mimics the look of sparkling sugar.) I don’t have any suggestions for dupes that have the same textured finish. In regards to color, China Glaze Champagne Bubbles was the closest I could think of, but obviously, the finish is quite different (and it has silver micro-glitter, so it doesn’t look the same even when you apply a top coat over Solange).

Zoya states that this is an opaque polish, and that with the PixieDust formula, it may take one to three (thin) coats to achieve full opacity and to see the effect of the textured formula. It is recommended to wait up to ten minutes for each coat to dry but once dry, it should be “long-lasting, matte, and ultra-glittery.” It was opaque for me after two coats, and the consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, so thin coats are possible. I applied it as I would any regular polish and didn’t have trouble with the application.  If desired, you could totally apply a top coat to get a glossy finish and a smoother feel.

I’ve been wearing Solange for nearly seven days (I’m a few hours short), and I’ve had no chips and just minor tip wear. I was quite surprised, because matte polishes don’t have a great reputation for wear, but Zoya’s wore really well (and I’ve tested a few shades from the original PixieDust launch, which yielded similar results). Worth mentioning, however, is that very little chips on me (unfortunately, for testing), so hopefully those who have tried this themselves can also chime in with how it has worn in their experience!

I love all the colors for the new Pixiedusts, but this and Stevie are my faves.

Weirdly Pixiedusts take way longer to dry on me compared to OPI’s Liquid Sand (LS takes like 30min max). These take a couple hours to be dry enough to not dent on me.

Textured polish wears like concrete on me and takes serious elbow grease to remove. I had one on for 6 days and did have tip wear (tip wear with textured polish is extremely weird since tip wear means that the finish becomes smooth and glossy at the tips before it starts wearing off) but nary a chip in sight.

For comparison most cream polishes with base and top coat wear for 3-4 days before I get chipping.

I’m pretty impatient with coats I admit. Once I’ve done one hand I move on to the other and back. So I’m guessing there’s less than 5 minutes between coats. Maybe I’ll try waiting longer between coats I’m just impatient.

I can’t wait for my favourite nail supply dudes to get this collection. It should be in stock shortly ≧◠◡◠≦✌ I am going to be all over it!

I find it strange how these just do not seem to photograph as well as they look in person? I think this particular colour is really unique for the style and co-incidentally Stevie is my second pick as well. I do find the drying time on Zoya slower than OPI and I find 3 thin coats works best for me. Love the textured nails!

I agree, this color seems very unique for textured polish (I also think the new white one from OPI is super unique too).

Now if someone would come out with a bright green textured polish (maybe with some holo sparkle please?) my textured nail polish life would be complete.

Strange, I find the drying time for me to be considerably faster than regular polish — mostly because I’m less worried about messing it up a touch since the texture hides smudges better.

I tend to add a base coat, regular color, let it dry for half a day while I do errands, then come back and add two layers of PixieDust (less than 5 minutes between layers). Within 10 minutes I’ve forgotten about them and continue on with my evening.

They seem to last a few days longer than regular polish for me before they begin chipping (polish rarely lasts 7 days on me without significant tip wear).

Random fact: Using the Seche Vite top coat seems to have shortened the lifespan of my current color, as it’s chipping within 48 hours. Is this typical of the top coat? I hadn’t tried it before, and used OPI previously.

oh my gosh, when i saw the title + the bottle, i was like, THIS IS SUCH A PERFECT SHADE TO DESCRIBE SOLANGE. Glad the formula turned out well too. 🙂 I need to pick this up next time I’m at Ulta.

I really like the Pixie Dust line. I work in healthcare so my nails take a beating and these seem to last longer than regular polish on me. I do see some tip wear real quick, but no major chips until 3-4 days out (regular polish chips on me on day 2). I do seem to get the same results from the Liquid Sand shades from OPI as well.

I am loving the Zoya Pixie Dust] polishes! I can’t wait until for nailpolishcanada.com to get this collection in! I just got the first collection and I’m wearing Godiva right now. Love it! These new shades will be perfect for summer! I only wish that I could have participated in the Zoya Earth Day exchange… No deal for Canadians! Oh well!

I pre-ordered this entire collection weeks ago and it finally came yesterday! I had a couple of the Pixie Dust from their spring line and immediately fell in love and knew I needed the summer collection. I put “Miranda” on last night and couldn’t stop looking at my nails! The wear is great even as an esthetician, I can get least 5-6 days before I have to change it. I like the Zoya Pixie Polish so much more than the China Glaze Textured polish I just bought.
