I like to enter this. I prep for colour with a flawless foundation as a canvas.
I don’t use a primer on my face, I just start with clean skin. I do, however, use urban decay primer potion and sometimes MAC’s painterly paint pot 🙂
Preferably with a big bottle of self tan. Color looks better on me when I’m not casper.
I don’t prep for color because most of those products are a bit pricey for my budget although I would really love to be able to!

I use Studio Moisture Cream or Strobe Liquid and then put on Prep & Prime (whenever I have to wear my makeup for a long time). 🙂
I prep for color by priming. My fav primer is Smashbox 2 in 1 Hybrid Luminizing Primer

I prep for colour by starting with a cleaned, toned, and moisturized face!
I prep my eyes by using a eyeshadow base. My favorite eyeshadow primer is MAC Painterly PaintPot. I do not use a primer for my face, I only use a foundation. My favorite foundation is Revlon ColorStay Foundation.
I use sunscreen and often a primer (no foundation). And usually a primer for eyeshadows.
I prep just using Urban decay’s primer potion on lids I haven’t had a chance to play with much else in the primer arena. Thanks for the chance to win!
I use MAC prep + prime SPF 50 – I really don’t think it qualifies as a primer – i think its just spf – but I love it regardless.
I also tried tarina tarantino’s primer i got as a sample from sephora…i think may get that.
Primer and flawless skin are the only ways I can take a big blow of color!
I prime with my eyes and lips. I use to the light eye prime from MAC and lip erase from MAC. =)
I moisturize & apply sunscreen to set my skin up for colour, then comes, either powder for night or liquid/stick foundation for day….
I actually don’t prep for color, I’m horrible! I haven’t tried primer yet, I usually just do a tinted moisturized then MSFN. I should use a primer though!

I never go a day without primer. I use MAC prep and prime under my foundation and Urban Decay primer potion under my eyeshadow!
I use a serum, moisturiser and primer on my face before applying foundation and concealer. I’m still trying to find my perfect face primer but my favourites so far are MAC’s Prep & Prime and Benefit’s That Gal. On my eyes I always use Urban Decay Primer Potion, and usually a cream shadow like a MAC Paint Pot underneath my powder shadows. On my lips I use Carmex lip balm to moisturize, and sometimes MAC Prep & Prime for lips!
Just bought Prep + Prime and so far I’m liking it… other than that, I just moisturize.

I’m in the process of looking for a good primer, but in the meantime I prep for colour by using concealer and a color wheel to help tone down a lot of the redness around my nose and the just apply a good foundation. No point in working my butt off on a pretty eye and lip if my skin is all splotchy and uncute!
I use primer for my face, and then i use dior nude. The foundation brings out the colour
for my lipcolour i use mac erase
To prep for color I usually use Laura Mercier primer & tinted moisturizer along with Amazing Cosmetics concealer, finishing it off with some Makeup Forever HD finishing powder. 🙂 Then I’m all set for some color!

I only recently started to use face primer, I have always used an eye primer but never really saw the need for a face primer but I tried a sample of Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and I love it so now I use that on a daily basis. As for eye’s I like UDPP, I used to use TFSI which I swore by but I think UDPP works a little better on my skin type.
I always use a foundation primer as well as an eyeshadow primer before starting anything!
I use UDPP as my eye primer, Benefit’s That Gal on my face (great under eyes), and any really moisturizing lip balm that I happen to have around.

I use Make Up For Ever’s HD primer or just my moisturizer! Actually just discovering the wonders of primer. 🙂
I always moisturize my skin when I prep for color. It helps my foundation glide on and look fresh and glowing. I actually just use a facial moisturizer by Olay with SPF 15 in it. Then afterwards, I apply some form of chapstick (lately its been burts bees original) so that my lips are nice and smooth by the time I go to put on lipstick or gloss.
As far as eyelids, I just stick with concealer (currently using LORAC’s double feature). 🙂
I prep my eye area with MAC’s Paintpot in Painterly year-round, and with Too Faced Shadow Insurance under that during the summer for extra eyeshadow mileage.
Actually, I don’t usually prep for color and my makeup fades away in record time. I need to get with it lol Thanks for the great tips & tutorials, so many new things so little money. Great to know what’s worth buying.

Yay! Prep for color is a must since makeup tend to slide off oily skin :(! My fav primers so far are tarte clean slate primer for face and too faced insurance policy for eyes.

Don’t laugh 🙂 but I use Phillips Milk of Magnesia as a primer! I have oily skin and I’ve found that using this in my t-zone area creates the perfect matte surface. Use it lightly because it can give a “ghostly-cast” if over done…but I’m telling you it works wonders!
Then I apply a light moisturizer and my foundation as normal and my “face” stays put ALL DAY.
I always moisturize and prime before doing my makeup. My fave primer is Prescriptives Flawless face primer. Too bad they no longer exist 🙁

ooh this collection is so interesting! I use Tarte Clean Slate Primer, which is very organic and I’ve seen massive change in my skin – it’s very clear and smooth!
I always use my Urban Decay Primer Potion for the eyes. My MAC prep+prim lip for lips and for the face I use the MAC prep+prim Transparent Finishing Powder.
Do I prime? Yes, I prime. I use two-faced shadow insurance and groundwork paint pot from Mac. They work great.

I have been using Mac’s Prep and Prime for Face and Urban Decay’s Primer Potion for Eyes. I want to try Laura Mercier’s Primer..which I hear is amazing!
I use Smashbox primer for my face and UDPP for my eyes.
I actually don’t use primer! I’m fairly young and don’t need that extra layer on my face. But I always make sure I have smooth, matte, and blended in foundation -its a critical part of my routine and transforms my face the most.
To prime my skin for color I just use a moisturizer, my Maybelline-Foundation + MAC’s Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. No fancy skin primers because I can’t find one that I’d like to buy. Good ones are really expensive most of the time.
I prep for color with SPF moisturizer. Gotta keep my skin looking great so I never skimp on SPF!
i usually use a mattifying gel as a primer so i dont get oily:)

I do prime.I use Urban Decay primer on my lids, and Smash Box primer on my face. I have rather large pores, and the Smash Box primer minimizes them a bit. And I love the primer on my lids, since my lids are oily.
Currently, I prep my face with GOSH primer, I use UDPP on my eyes and on special occasions I also use UD’s lip primer and lash primer.
I would love to try some of the MAC products, I’ve heard great things, but I haven’t had the chance to try them!

i wash and moisturize my face. Lately, i’ve been using the ELF mineral face primer and I really like it.
I prep for colour/foundation by washing my face with purity cleanser and my clarisonic. I then put on Clinique’s dramatically different moisturizer gel…and then put on some smashbox photofinish primer…in that blending one. 🙂
My favorite primer right now is Rimmel’s Fix & Perfect! The other primers I’ve tried were much more of a silicone base and broke me out.
i use grease lightning by lush to control shine and prevent breakouts during the day, it´s just enough for my oily skin!

as of right now MUFE HD primer is my fav. I just love the smell, it’s so clean and it helps seal in the moisture from my moisturizer. i always prime, i have texture issues so it makes the application smoother. <3

I prep for color with a primer. My current favorite is Benefit’s “That Gal” primer.
I ALWAYS use UDPP for my eyeshadow, and moisturizer before I put on foundation. If I need my makeup to stay in place for 8+ hours I also use a foundation primer, like Smashbox Photo Finish, and a mascara primer (I like Lancomes!)

I always wash, tone and moisturize first. Then I apply MAC’s Fast Response Eye Cream and let it sink in, followed by Smashbox’s Photo Finish Light Primer. After all that, it’s time for makeup!

I prime my eyes, I prime my face… but not my lips though 🙂 I’ve been using my smashbox photofinish lid primer for the past few months and I love it ^_^ If I want things super intense, I’ll also use a colored base 😀
Oh btw, I just bought purposefully red.. the lipstain marker.. and I love it! 🙂 Yes, it looks not too cute up close whenever I’m like 2 inches away, but from like a foot away you can’t tell if it looks bad or not 😀 And the stain is not coming off! I wore it to sleep last night to test the staying power and i tried to take it off in the shower.. and now it’s like a pinky-red stain on my lips still >_<
I use Clinique’s Pore Minimizer in the t-zone area and Estee Lauder’s Spotlight Skin Tone Perfector over my moisturizer in the areas that are dry.
To prep for colour…. hmm, I prime my eyes (usually UDPP or Painterly Paintpot) but not my face! Not so much into face primers. 🙂 I do, however, start off with NARS Sheer Glow foundation, which prepares my face for the colour!

Always use a primer, my eyelids are kinda oily so setting the eyeshadow will make them crease in a few hours, and it does not look pretty lol and sometimes i use a cream eyeshadow to make the other shadows more vibrant 🙂

i use mineral makeup – so i prep my face for color by using a primer in the form of zinc oxide powder. for the eyelids, i use TFSI and NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencils 🙂

I really like Philosophy The Present Clear Makeup as a primer, but lately I’ve been using Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base. It smells great and doesn’t leave me oily!
I prep for color with an eyeshadow primer. My favorite is Urban Decays 🙂
I prep for colour by using my Illamasqua concealer, Mac MSF Natural powder, then Mac Fix Plus spritzed on the top of the concealer and powder and very lightly pressed in with a cotton pad to give an ultra natural but flawless looking canvas for colour.
I prep for color by applying moisturizer to clean skin, then a primer (usually MAC’s face protect for daily wear), then foundation and concealer.
I use M Asam’s Perfect Teint as facial primer,Mally’s Shadow Base on my eyes and Laura Geller’s Lip Spackle.
The way I prep for colour, and it’s usually lip color is: make sure face is flawless with plenty of moisturizer, a little tinted moisturizer and some concealer where needed. Then, exfoliate lips with a washcloth or sugar scrub (olive oil and sugar), Burt’s Bees lip balm or EOS lip balm, Sephora Tricks of the Trade lip primer, and normally YSL of some sort! I love the YSL Rouge Pur in #19. =)
Mascara, maybe blush and I’m done!

I always use a foundation primer. I used to use the Guerlain one which has gold on it, but it blocked my pores a bit, so I use the Urban Decay Brightening Primer. I also use the Urban Decay lash primer and the primer potion.

I’m a total primer! Face primer w/Korres new antiageing primer, eye primer with UDPP. Sometimes prime my lips with a little bit of foundation or concealer.

i have tried multiple primers, but none seem to work for me since i have oily skin which ends up ‘breaking through’ my makeup and making me look shiny. currently i’ve been using a sample of the mac primer and i wonder if their new primer might be the one to help my face look like a mirror.. :\

I prep with Clinique’s Pore Perfector Anti-Shine T-Zone Gel. It’s really great for keeping my T-zone free of shine all day. The only thing it’s missing is SPF but the world isn’t perfect 😀

I really just got started into prepping my skin. Usually I just put some moisturizer and go to it, but I discovered some samples from L’Occitane for skincase and have fallen in love (so I think I’ll be giving it more of a go soon). Otherwise I love the aquasource line from Biotherm for moisturizing and, of course, some sunscreen. Then comes the concealer, foundation and colour! I have yet to try some lip primers, but am wanting to.
I prep for colour with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It’s actually the only face primer I ever used but it works okay for me! (: I also can’t apply my eyeshadow without priming my eyes with UDPP and MAC Painterly paint pot.
I rarely use face primer, but I always use Urban Decay Primer Potion to prep for my eyeshadows! Its the best eye primer I’ve used!

I Prep for Colour by exfoliating my face regularly with YSL Gommage. I also use UDPP to make my eye shadow as vibrant and long-lasting as possible.

I have been using Laura Mercier’s foundation primer (orinigal) forever. For a very long time I didn’t know what it does for me, but recently I think I fall in love with it again! It really does make my foundation stay – for like 12 hours no kidding – and with my skin not drying out. I also use other two Maybelline’s primer (a purple one to brighten up + one to cover pores) on top of the LM. I bought the Maybelline ones in Hong Kong though but combined with LM they make the perfect combo!

my prime is actually my skincare routine of washing, toning and moisturizing 🙂
for e/s i definitely start with UDPP as eye primer, but after that i usually just start with the e/s themselves. I have very small lid space (asian monolid), so trying use a dark colored base could potentially make me look like a panda, but just not as cute as a panda. For face i don’t normally use any primer, but lately i started using the Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer. i really can’t tell if it’s doing much, but it does provide a smoother surface. i can’t really tell if it’s keeping my fdnt/tm on better however. for lips i don’t typically prime either, just l/s on and go. but i do use the Cargo reverse liner on the bottom outer corners to blot out the lip pigmentation that extends beneath my natural lip line, and then i apply the lip color (otherwise it just looks weird and i look like i’m always frowning due to the natural pigmentation of my lips extending downward lol). sometimes i prime with eos mint lip balm (usually for l/s that i know are sort of dry, like Rimmel or my VG Cyndi l/s) and a few times i’ve primed with the Shu lip balm/primer that i bought a while back on sale.

I prep for color by using neutrogena invigorating deep clean scrub and then I use chanel’s illuminating nakeup base. I started this regimine about two weeks ago and I can’t believe my skin’s glow. I’ve always had pretty good skin but this combo gives me the best skin of my life.
I need skin brightening serum as I am over 40..Have to do a lot of prepping and priming to get a flawless face…lol

I always start with clean, moisturized skin an NEVER go without SPF. Lately I’m loving Illamasqua Satin Primer- it keeps foundation from looking too matte on my dry skin- it’s slighlty dewy without adding shimmer or opalescence (both if which can emphasize imperfections like large pores& redness).

I really like the new collections mac is offering. I prep for color with photo finish primer and sometimes with a little foundation. I also like to use primer on my lashes, eyelids and lips, so that makeup can last all day long! 😀

I always use two primers first I apply a thin layer of Revlon CS, it’s light weight, dries quickly & evens out my lids, then I apply Benefit FY eye (sadly discontinued)wait 3 min. , then apply a color base ( MAC paint pot or MUFE flash colors )=)

I sometimes use Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation primer even though I usually just use a concealer and loose powder after. I also use Urban Decay Primer Potion on my lids as well as a MAC Paint Pot because they work the best on me for no creasing.
I use either smashbox photo ready or MUFE HD primer, depending on how much extra help my skin needs. Eye primer wise I’m loving eden from Urban Decay, and my ever reliable paint pots 😀
I do prime! For my face, I actually use Monistat Chaffing Lotion as a primer, as crazy as that sounds, but it has the same active ingredient as the high-end primers for MUCH less cost. I also use Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood occasionally. For my eyes, I use Urban Decay Primer Potion or Painterly Paint Pot from MAC! 🙂
My favorite primers are Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and for my face I actually use a moisturizer from LUSH with a toner to thin it out.

Cool contest! The only priming I do is on my eyelids, before applying eyeshadow. I use MAC’s Bare Canvas most days, but recently got Urban Decay’s primer and love that too.
Lately I’ve been using Mac’s Prep+Prime Skin Refined Zone in my t-zone before applying foundation. I love it because it minimizes the appearance of pores and it helps control shine. For my eyes, I use Mac’s paint pot in painterly – my eyeshadows last all day!

For eyes UDPP is amazing, MAC paints/pots don’t work for me. For face I just use oil-free moisturizer, followed by MAC prep+prime, and then I apply Fix+ Rose before and after foundation or powder.

I always, always prep for colour. I use a primer for my face and for my eyes. I currently use Smashbox Photo Primer for my face and Too Faced Shadow Insurance for my eyes. I also sometimes use a base for my eyes. I use either NYX Jumbo pencils or MAC Paint Pots. I can’t say that these are my faves because I haven’t used anything else, but I do like all these products that I have been using.

I love Chanel Blanc Universel Primer for face, Guerlain Eye Shadow Primer for eyes, Shiseido Mascara Base and Lipfusion XL Primer Pencil… although I usually only prime face and lashes before going out at night.
I prep my eyes with UDPP on any given day– even when wearing neutrals. I can’t live without it! On the days that I feel especially colorful, I pair my UDPP with Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy for that extra oomph and staying power.
My face gets primed with a Sephora primer I’ve had for awhile, and it gets the job done– especially when I add bold blush. 🙂

I have oily, acneic skin so I’m generally wary of liquid or gel facial primers. I usually use an oil-absorbing powder as my primer, e.g. silica, kaolin, silk powder, etc. I still haven’t found my HG primer for my oily eyelids. UDPP creases on my so I still need to try TFSI and a few others!
Would love to be entered in the contest. I just started getting back into makeup since having my kids so I cant say I have a favorite face primer. But I prep for with a clean moisturized face and I use a good concealer or neutral creme eyeshadow as a base for my powdered eyeshadow.

I like to prep my skin with foundation primer. I love CoverFX clear prep cus it feels silky but also helps with my acne. I like to use the too faced eye primer. I wash my face with my cleansers, clarisonic at night, not in the morning, apply my toner at night or my face water in the morning and treat with my products. If i am wearing makeup, I always apply primer and wait like 5 or so minutes! Then it is time for the makeup!

I’m primer committed! I can’t do makeup without priming! My fave thing to prime with is Embryolisse. If that’s not to hand I always go for Laura Mercier’s face primer. Lovely! For eyes I like to use either Urban Decay Primer Potion or Benefit’s FY Eye. Both have unbelievable staying power!

Enter me! I never used to prime, as I don’t wear foundation, and my skin is sensitive. But then I discovered that a good primer can serve as a light moisturizer under sunscreen, or can be a very light sunscreen itself.
I’ve tried maybe 3 of them, two of which I couldn’t tolerate. Right now, I’m loving Illamasqua’s Satin Primer. I can’t really imagine foundation or makeup sticking to it though, and I don’t think it really smooths out anything, at least not by itself. But it’s nice and dewy. Want to try more primers.

I always prime. Sometimes I use Clinique’s Pore Minimizer and sometimes I use T-Zone Controle by Lancome. Both are my favourites.
I cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize so that my foundation goes on smoothly. I am loving the Pretika SonicDermabrasion Facial Brush (Clarisonic dupe/ knock-off). Then I use an eyeshadow primer (TFSI) to make sure my eyeshadow stays throughout the day. Creasing, oily lids are not pretty. 😉
I prep for colour by only priming my face with an inexpensive face primer by Rimmel before applying my foundation.
My favorite primer is my UDPP. It’s the only thing that helps my oily lids. I prime my face with MUFE HD powder. It’s not technically a primer, but it helps matte my face.
I always prime my eyelids, but that’s it. For some reason, when I use a primer on my face, my skin always gets greasy at 9am rather than 2pm! If you know of a good mattifying primer, let me know. I’m getting married in 6 weeks so it would be great to know! Happy Friday!

Yes! I’ve gone through a lot of primers, but my latest fave is Josie Maran Argan Primer Mist. I usually spritz it on my hand, prime eyes with finger tips for shadow, then spritz it all over face after makeup application.

I’ve never had a lot of luck with a primer before cosmetics but recently after reading so many great reviews, I’ve started using MAC’s Soft Ochre Paint Pot on my lids as part of my daily rountine. I like how it “brightens” my eyes and holds my shadow with little to no creasing.

During this time of the year, I have oily skin. Currently, I am using Philosophy’s Never Let Them See You Shine Velvet Touch Primer. It works well enough, but the hunt goes on for the perfect mattifier…I suppose Lancome’s La Base is good tooI also just started using Urban Decay’s Eden Primer Potion for the eyelids. I love it with Nars Kuala Lumpur (gotta get some backup for this, just in case they discontinue)! A little definitely goes a long way. Going to Sephora to check out some new stuff. Prime – almost always Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector. I haven’t found anything that absorbs oil all day like this product. I’ve used BE Prime Time (regular) and Smashbox photo finish light, but the Clinique is by far my favorite.
(Though I’ve heard the new Urban Decay De-Slick in a Tube is supposed to rock the oil barrier as well).

I prep by using a moisturiser with spf, and then once that has dried i use MAC prep+prime face. I also have Smashbox primer, but i find that one is a bit thick and gloopy. Also for under eye, I use MAC Rapid Eye Response cream, my concealer goes on much smoother and stays all day when i use tht eye cream. I also do a light sweeping on concealer/foundation and then set with powder over my lips so they are ready for lipstick!

I prime my eyelids by mixing a little bit of Benefit That Gal with High Beam and dusting a finishing powder on top to set. Works wonders!

I use MAC Prep & Prime for face of course, then I set with MAC Mineralized Skinfinsh and then I use Urban Decay Primer Potion for my eyes. That’s it!
I don’t prime my face on a daily basis only because I’m worried about packing on more product onto my face – in terms of eye makeup I use eye primer everyday! I’m currently using Smashbox Photofinish Primer but I usually vary between Urban Decay Primer Potion in the original formula or Sin, I really want to try the new matte one out! I find that priming your eyes really allows your eye shadow to stick and it stays on consistently throughout the day without creasing!
When I go out though (especially at night) I like to specifically prime my t-zone area and then apply my foundation. I find that you really get the flawless finish, and my favorite face primer would have to be the Laura Mercier face primer or the Smashbox photo finish! I would love the try the Mac prep & prime product thought because ive never tried it 🙂
I don’t really prime, I use MAC’s Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder though before I put on powder foundation so it goes on a lot smoother, as well as a setting powder 🙂

I think primer is really important, atlest for ,¡me, i have okay skin but not prefect, with primer jsut makes my skin grow and much better. at the moment im using the Bare minerals prime time, i cant say its the best at the market, but so far so good.

I do prime. I use MAC Moisture Fix mixed with Prep & Prime (love that it’s 50 SPF) on my face and neck. On my eye lids I use UDPP. It’s amazing to me how well my make-up lasts when I prime, opposed to when/if I don’t.

I start off with a moisturizer, than i put on my Mac Studio Fix Powder. Final I pat on my T-Zone Makeup Forever translucent Powder. when done with all my face makeup i spritz Fix plus all over. y LISTA!!!

fill my crators in with a silicon based primer (right now monitstat LOL)
and i also prime my lashes with prep and prime

I prep for colour with concealer over my undereyes blended out into tinted moisturizer, because I don’t like to use foundation. 🙂 I also use a drugstore knockoff of a shadestick as a base for my eyeshadows.

I prep my face with clinque moisturizer and eye cream, foundation – right now I am using Revlon Photo Ready or for a quick day I use Benefit You Rebel tinted moisterier and on my eyes i prep with either painterly paint pot or UDPP.
After washing my face I spray with Fix+ then I use moisturizer and under eye cream. Next I follow with either Smashbox Photofinish primer or Avon MagiX Face Perfector w/ SPF20. Sometimes I also used a de-mattifier on my forehead. After applying foundation and concealer I use a translucent powder to set makeup before applying bronzer and blush/highlighter. Before applying eyeshadow I’ll either use UDPP or a MAC paintpot such as Painterly, Bare Study or Groundwork, depending on the color eye I’m doing. Thanks for having another contest!
My favorite face primer is All Matte from MUFE and my eye primer is Too faced.
First I put on a sunscreen then use smashbox primer for foundation and a mixture of my eye-cream and concealer for going underneath eye shadows. I’ve been wanting to try mac prep+prime face protect spf 50, especially since it has an spf built in, but haven’t got the money yet. What I want to try the most from this collection is the serum.
I prep for colour by priming with Laura Mercier’s Foundation Primer, Applying some Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, Applying NARS Sheer Glow, then a dusting of MSF Natural& I’m good to go 🙂
I just moisturize and use MAC’s Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage. For eyes I use Smashbox Lid Primer.
My favourite is the NARS oil free primer 🙂

As for primer, I rarely use it. Sometimes if I’m going out or know I’m going to have my picture taken I’ll use Smashbox photo finish and/or Urban Decay eye shadow primer. For everyday, though, I don’t use a primer.
I rarely use face primer, but always moisturize, on my eyes I use an eyeshadow primer and then usually a cream eyeshadow as a base under powder eyeshadow. My lips I always use a lip balm with spf. 🙂

The only primer i use is on my eyes for my shadow. I use Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base, its really good, I don’t like UD Primer Potion etc!
I prep for color with an SPF lotion (I have chronically dry skin) and then a primer.
I find that a smile always makes color look best!

Favourite primer is the Guerlain Perles one, it’s gorgeous! The bottle lasts for ages and it has a beautiful illuminated finish on the skin.
Right now, I’m using a paint pot, but I do love the UDPP!
i prep for color by using Lush skin drink moisturizer and then i use a face primer by Victoria secret that i love love love! And on my eyes i prep my eye lids with too faced shadow insurance..ive been using this for 3 or 4 years now!
I like to use foundation primer. I get redness so I like to use the green primer from MUFE. Another primer I use is eyeshadow primer, my favorite is Shadow Insurance by Too Faced. 🙂

I prep for colors on my eye by using a good primer or base. For my lips, I just use a good chapstick. For my face, I dislike the primers because it makes me feel like all my pores have been blocked off. Not the best feeling for an acne prone person!

I always use an eyeshadow primer, currently my fave is UDPP, but I’d like to try Too Faced Shadow Insurance because of the packaging. When I want my face to last all day/night I use Clarins face primer, it helps with staying power and fine lines.

Face toner, then moisturizer, a little bit of sunscreen. I spritz my 187 brush with some facial mist then apply foundation with this slightly moist brush. For my eye, I put some eye cream and a thin layer of UDPP.

I mostly use a primer from Bare Minerals in my face and prime my eyes with a primer from the Finnish brand Lumene. I do think those works pretty good actually. ^^ I’ve never tried Mac’s primers but I’m really curious, I love all other makeup from Mac.
I prime my face using MAC’s Prep & Prime with SPF 50, PP in Painterly or Soft Ochre for my eyes, CCB in Luna for highlighting (making sure my powder highlighter/blush stays on), and regular chapstick before applying MAC Viva Glam Cyndi (currently my fav. lipstick!).

3) Smashbox photo finish foundation primer.
4) Foundation
5) Contour, then blush and then highlight
6) Then I set everything with Mac’s prep and prime transparent powder
I prep my face for foundation using Korres’ primer. its the best so far! beats smashbox, sephora, etc. I prime my eyelids for shadow with one of the three UDPPs i own and with cream shadows!

I want! I want! I always use a lightweight moisturizer first (right now it’s Nuetrogena for sensitive skin), then I use Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Lite…the on the eyelids normally MAC Bare Study paint pot…and underneath my eyes Urban Decay PP. (I like to line the bottom with eyeshadow)
I prime with Painterly paint pot for eyelids and Monistat Gel for face primer (drugstore version of smashbox primer)
I don’t often use a primer but I do use a good moisturiser or sometimes a product like Time Delay Radiance Booster (a bit like Clarins Flash Balm but from Boots in the UK).
I find a good foundation and painterly paint pot are a good base for colour on my face.
I usually prime the eyes with UDPP and the face with MAC’s Prep & Prime.

I prep for color with my Smashbox Photofinish Light and UDPP. Actually, I go a little overboard with prepping my eyes sometimes. I’ll use my UDPP first, put MAC Painterly on top to even out the color, and sometimes use a colored base on top of that! I don’t have extremely oily lids or anything; I just love using my products!
I used to use MAC’s Prep and Prime Skin but found that it did very little, so now I only have sunscreen under my foundation. To prep my eyes for colour however, I use Soft Ochre paint pot, and I also use Prep and Prime Lash to prevent my mascaras from smudging.

I just use sunscreen (SPF30) and mineral foundation for everyday wear. Don’t actually use a primer x) except with my Too Faced Shadow Insurance for my eyes.
I think that primer is super important. I prime my eyes with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and prime my face with Smashbox’s primer. They are soo important because they make your makeup last much longer.
I prep for colour by using my MAC prep & prime base visage and my MAC Refine zone to my t-zone. As for my lids I use too face shadow insurance. I’m not big on using a lot of eyeshadow…mostly neutrals. My thing ? Lips!! the brighter the better…I use palmer’s cocoa butter just a bit to add moisture and slip. Fav lip shade at the moment?? MAC Morange with a plum liner and lychee luxe lipglass.

I prep for color by using DHC Velvet Skin Coat for face before Giorgio Armani Designer Foundation and Too Faced Shadow Insurance for eyes 🙂 And and ofcourse the Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette to cover up imperfections!

I prep for color with a regular exfoliation regime, toner, and plenty of moisturizer! I usually don’t “prime” per se, I usually go moisturizer to concealer and/or foundation without the intermediary step, but when I do, I use Smashbox’s primer, “classic” formula. I find the extra step too much of a schlep, so only really do it for special occassion makeup.

I have oily skin and large pores and my makeup fades easily throughout the day. I have tried numerous primers and have found that the best one, at least for my skin type, is Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer. I moisturize with Neutrogena Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30, then apply my primer, and then proceed to add color. The MOST IMPORTANT step for me is my makeup setting product…Mally Beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender. Skin looks smooth, almost like velvet, and makeup looks perfect all day. The best!

I prime my face with Lorac oil free neutralizer. I have broken capillaries around my nose and this covers them up really well. I’m still looking for a good oil free all over face primer. I love the one by Smashbox but, I get greasy after a couple of hours.

Yay, entering!! I always prep my face simply by washing, toning and a nice, light moisturizer. For color, I love Urban Decay’s potion primer!
In the winter, I use Philosophy’s “The Present” primer either under my makeup, or I mix it with my liquid to get lighter coverage. Smashbox Photofinish didn’t work for me at all.
Now that it’s getting warmer, Shiseido’s lotion formulation sunscreens are what I like to use. They are so smooth and fluid, and don’t leave a whitish cast or a grainy feeling like some sunscreens can. I want to try a cream one this winter.
For my eyes, I use either UDPP or a MAC paint
I don’t use a primer on my face because my skin is very sensitive, for the eyes I prefer Light Sante Coverstick pencil, it is an european natural organic makeup :).
I prime with MUFE Microperfecting primer on special occasions when I need my makeup to stay put and don’t have time to fix it.
As for my eyes, a method that seems to work for me until near the end of the day is dusting a light coloured eyeshadow on first before anything else. I don’t want to put a thick primer on because I don’t want to tug on the delicate skin around my eyes when removing at the end of the day.
I prep for color by blasting Lady Gaga or some other music that just puts me in a great mood! I use Urban Decay Primer Potion for my eyes and Make Up For Ever Hd primer on my face! Love them both!
I just use my normal moisturizer and UDPP on my eyes. I miss Guerlain’s old eye primer formula – the new one is horrible! I prep my lips with MAC’s lip conditioner.

I use a light moisturizer, then Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel. Sometimes that’s all I do, or I’ll add liquid or powder foundation over that. I prime my eyes with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion.
I love ud primer potion and korres foundation primer because it is silicone free! I find that clean, exfoliated skin works best!
I used to prime but right now I’m “between primers” because my skin doesn’t agree with very much. I find that with the primers I have used, there’s not a huge difference between moisturizing then priming and just moisturizing.

I like to prep with setting powder at the beginning (weird, I know) so that my concealer sticks better!
I use Smashbox of MUFE primer for my face, then UDPP or a MAC paint pot as a lid primer. Helps keep my face from turning to mush before lunch time!

Ohh, I have no idea why I read this wrong, but i do use concealers, I have one I am not sure of the brand, 2faced shadow insurance i believe its called? and a MAC paintpot. None work on me that great though:( I wonder how this one would. I have poily eyelids at times so nothing stays on that great.
I ALWAYS “prep for color”! I use UDPP every time I apply eyeshadow, and for times/events I might be photographed, I use Smashbox Photofinish primer before foundation!

The only priming I do is with L’Oreal creme stick makeup and Almay concealer. I’m not thrilled with the concealers I’ve been trying, Almay discontinued my favorite cream concealer. (Everything I consider a staple is guaranteed to be discontinued..lol)
The prepping makes all the difference! I scrub. clean and moisturize first, of course. Then Smashbox Photo Finish(LOOOVE!) foundation primer for the face and Too Faced or Paula Dorf eyeshadow primer, depending on what I’m doing with my eyeshadow that day.
I use Guerlain Météorites Perles for the face and UD Primer for the eyes!
I like to use the Smashbox primer for my face it leaves it so smooth and ready for makeup. On my eyelids right now I’m using TFSI which I really like. I also use Mac Painterly PP and UDPP which are also good. Thanks for the chance Christine.
I have such dry skin that I don’t use primer before foundation – just a really heavy cream. On my eyes, I use urban decay primer potion

I’ve been using the Urban Decay primer potion for the last two years, but they don’t sell it where I live, so I don’t know what I’m going to do when this one runs out!

I don’t use a specific primer, I just spray my face with a Dermalogica toner, then use Olay moisturiser with 30+ sunscreen, because of the Australian sun haha!

I always use an eye primer. I use a mix of UDPP and Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy. Sometimes I use a face primer, but not always. I have dry skin and sometimes it seems like the more products I use the patchier it looks.

To prep for For color I just actually use mouisturizer lol I dnt even know if that counts. I never used and primers or anything so this would be so fun to try if I win. Thank you!
I use Laura Mercier primer ( it’s very light because it isn’t silicone based and just feels like a moisturiser) and finish with Nars sheer glow foundation.
I prep with moisturiser on my face, and painterly paint pot on my lids! every time, doesn’t even budge my eyeshadow under hot stage lights!
The best way that I’ve found to prep and prime my skin for a flawless make-up application is by starting off with a nice clean moisturized face. When I start with a nice clean face, my foundation lasts longer and I use less product to achieve the results that I desire.

I love smashbox’s primer for my face and urban decay primer for my eyes. These always make my foundation and eyeshadow look flawless and my makeup last all day.

The way I “Prep for colour” is using a primer. i absolutely ADORE the MAC “Matte”. I have oily skin so its great for mattifying my T-zone. Its a gel consistency and i strongly recommend it 🙂

Yes, I always prime on my face because my skin is super sensitive! I’ve used MAC prep + prime, smashbox photo finish and now I use Tarte clean slate, which I am in love with!
For color, I don’t really use primer that much anymore, instead, I use paint because it makes the colors more vibrant, but when I do use primer, I use Too Faced insurance.

I use UDPP for eyes but I think it’s time for a new one; it’s starting to dry streaky! I also like Smashbox photo finish primer in original for face, but it does break me out it I don’t wash carefully!

I’ve been using the Sephora mattifying primer. It’s not the best and its not the worst! But I’m the kind of gal who, unless the product breaks me out, will use it till its done! I’m always up for new recommendations!

Have primer but never use it unless I have dry patches. I do like to prime my lids though, I have a Lancome primer pot thing that I really like. I like the texture that I can just pat it on and it blends as I do that. I also use cream shadows b/c I can’t wear them on their own and can’t figure out what to do with them, I’m too oily!

I prep for colour by using nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencils! They’re my favorite. As for my face, I’m still looking for a good primer for that.
I do not prime, I just use a moisturizing face lotion (Clean and Clear) and then apply my mineral foundation. It works well enough for me =D

It depends whether I prime or not. If it’s just around the house or minimal outside exposure ;0p I usually do not prime. But when I do I either use Smashbox Photofinish light or laura merier hydrating primer. I usually always prime my eyes though with Urban Decay Primer Potion or TooFaced Shadow Insurance. I just feel sometimes primer gives me a smoother canvas to work with

I “prep for colour” by using my favorite primer by MAC called Prep+Prime followed by my MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation to give me a perfect canvas before painting. I can’t forget the Urban Decay Primer potion to keep my eyelid color on all day!

I first use my Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer to suck up and keep my face super matte and then I just use my Smashbox’s Photo Finish in Light.

Primer is very important for me. I have different primers, from ones with silicones to others that are more hydrating to those that are illuminating. What I look the most in a primer is how easy it makes the foundation application. I do sometimes just use a good moisturizer as primer (If I’m going for simple looks or don’t want to add many products to my face). Some sunscreens are excellent primers too–Neutrogena Dry Sheer Sunscreen is quite good.
My fave primer to date is the MAC Prep+Prime SPF 50 because is makes my skin glowy while doing some work at controlling oil and I save a step on my skincare routine because it provides a high SPF.

I prime my face with MAC’s prep and prime, I even like to mix with the moisturiser sometimes so it absorbs better (somehow? lol!) it makes a world of difference especially with my oily skin and the humidity in Singapore. I then put on foundation, concealer and pat setting powder all over. Lastly, I prime my lips with a bit of chapstick and my eyelids with UDPP. That’s my blank canvas, all prepped for colour! 😀

I go with the classics to prep for color — Smashbox primer for my face and Urban Decay P.Potion for the eyes. I do intend to branch out to paint pots soon, however! Bear Study by MAC is on my wishlist.
I don’t use a face primer (I probably should but I only use a tinted moisturizer, if anything 😛 ) but I usually use Urban Decay Primer Potion or a MAC Paint Pot to prime my eyes.
I use UDPP and UD pore perfecting primer, though I’m looking for a face primer that’s lighter for summer.
After letting my Dermalogica moisturiser sink in, I use MAC Prep+Prime on face, and Too Faced eyeshadow insurance on eyes. Highly recommend the too faced (UDPP applicator annoys me)- I had eyeshadow on for 14 hours yesterday and it didn’t fade. By the 9th or 10th hour I had minor creasing on my inner lid, but that was easily fixed.
I use a face primer, Smashbox photo finish lite, and eyeshadow primer which I alternate between TFSI and UDPP. Of course I love using mac painterly paint pot as a base for eyeshadow too!
My favorite primer is monistat anti chafing primer! Cheap & just as good as the high end ones
I got a sample of the skin brightening from MAC and I love it. Also, I use Smashbox lid primer before putting on my eyeshadow but I find that it lightens my entire lid area too much. I want to switch to something else but I’m not sure what.

I am definitely a primer queen! I have tried urban decay, smashbox, make up forever, and classifed era primers…my fav is still smashbox although it does have a silicone feel. Definitely also prime my eyes with UDPP.
I prep for colour with Tarte Primer but if I win this my new one will be MAC lol.

I haven’t found that holy grail face primer yet, but I always use Urban Decay’s Primer Potion at all times…though I don’t even like it. ;( (my liner still smears!) I then go about smearing foundation all over my face with a makeup sponge.
I use primer. I’m currently using MUFE’s green primer, to tone down redness. I like this one a lot, but the best primer I’ve tried is the Hourglass primer. It is SO GOOD. When I run out of my MUFE primer, I want to get a bottle of the Hourglass despite the high price.

It is really ridiculous how much I put on my face! I start with cetaphil on my t-zone, then Shiseido 55 sunscreen, MAC studio moisture cream all over, then Smashbox primer, or Cargo liquid powder as a primer finally foundation. Christine, if you know of a primer with high SPF please let me know so I can skip a step. For my eyes I use Urban Decays Sin primer or MAC’s cream colour base in pearl.
I prep by using MAC lip primer. Best thing to put on before gloss.

I love Eve Pearl’s moisturizing primer. Its my ultimate favorite! 2 in 1..works great!! for the eyes i use either paint pots or the TF eyeshadow insurance. =)

I don’t often wear a full face of makeup, honestly — still haven’t found that HG foundation that won’t make the lines around my mouth look worse, and even tinted moisturizers have that effect — so typically I’ll go with BeneFit’s That Gal alone on my face and MAC’s Painterly paint pot on my eyes.

I use the MAC Skin Base Visage primer for the face and if I do shadow I use Urban Decay Primer Potion.
i use gorgeous cosmetics primer. its the ONLY one i own 🙁 but other than that, i would always ALWAYS moisturise my face first :)for eyes…the one and only urban decay primer potion that everyone loves..

Before I apply my eyeshadow I always make sure to use my UDPP. It is non oily and makes the color really pop and last.
my favourite primer is the benefit that gal! it smells good and it really does give you a subtle glow!!
I don’t use facial primer although I have tried two but neither made much of a difference. My Clinique DDM Gel is what I put on before foundation and it acts somewhat as a primer because of the gel consistency. I like UDPP for eyes. Hope I win!
Mmm I used to prime but now I find that just my sunscreen works better than layering both. It’s strange but true!

i prep my face for colour by always washing my face with philosophy purity cleanser, then add moisturizer in clinique diff lotion, then a primer either in smashbox, mac or nars ( i change up bc all i have are samples.) then i add my mac msf in natural all over the face, mac studio sculpt conceler under eyes and over blemishes, then with the eye i either use mac painterly, too faced shadow insurance or urban decay primer potin (any of them dep on which one i grab first).
at night i take off my makeup with mac face wipes and then use philosophy hope in a jar (luv this stuff) .

I almost always use eye primer (UDPP), but only use foundation primer about half the time (the rest of the time I just moisturize). Haven’t decided what my favorite is, but so far I’m liking NARS, UD Pore Perfecting, and Smashbox Photo Finish Light.

yes i do prime! i have 2 of the prep & primes from mac, one is regular and one is spf 50. i also have the sample primer from bare minerals that works good. i find the spf primer does control shine better whem compared with the reg one.

With my oily skin and lids I have top prime. I love, love, love Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant perfector and Too Faced Shadow Insurance layered beneath a MAC Paint Pot. If I don’t prime my makeup disappears within an hour!
I don’t use any kind of primer for my face but I do stay loyal to MAC paintpots when it comes to the eye primer. It’s absolutely the best eye primer out there for me! :)))
i use smashbox oil free primer for the face and urban decay primer potion for the eyes, with a MAC paint pot over it as necessary!
I start of my prep for color by using a good, oil free moisturizer. I then use my favorite eye primer (MAC painterly paint pot) to even out my eye lids and create a sticky base for my eyeshadows. I then finish my prep for color with my foundation primer (MAC Prep and Prime Face Visage is my favorite) to even out and smooth my skin texture.
my favorite primer is MUFE’s microperfecting primer, Urban Decay’s primer potion in sin, and MAC lash primer.

I use and like MUFE HD Primer in Green.
I used to use Rimmel’s Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer everyday before I apply my foundation to go on smoother but lately I have abandoned it and don’t use face primer anymore since I don’t ever get time. My favorite eyeshadow primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I love it! I’m on my second tube of it and I prefer that over Urban Decay Primer Potion. Sometimes I’ll reach for my paint pots in Girl Friendly or Fresco Rose.
I don’t usually prime my face, instead I just put face lotion on. If I do prime, I use Urban Decay products.
I usually prep with a good moisturizer with a higher spf, 30 or above. I also make sure my lips are prepped while i’m doing the rest of my face as well, with chapstick or a tinted lip conditioner. 🙂
primers are a must for me, primers give the glowy skin look. I use shiseido ‘The Makeup’ smoothing veil as foundation primer and urban decay eyeshadow primer potion(original).

I always always use an eye primer, usually Lumene, but also TFSI or a MAC paint pot. It’s the very first makeup I put on my face in the morning. As for face primer – I own a few but rarely wear them, only when I have the extra time and feel like it.
For face i use a good moisturizer then MAC’s Matte Texture cream, and for Eyes i use Too Faced Shadow Ensurance 😉
For the most part I don’t wear concealer or foundation. Sometimes I use a little eyeshadow primer, but other than that… just a good layer of SPF 45!
after i clean my face, i use my yes to tomatoes moisturizer and then put the korres face primer on top.

Ooh. Another give away! Hm…I prep for colour with various things. I haven’t quite picked one thing I like and tend to rotate through trying new stuff. So far, I’ve used the Laura Mercier Primer, NARS Primer, Smashbox Photofinish — and then Trish McEvoy tinted moisturizer or NARS Sheer Matte Foundation.
The only way I prep for colour is to apply an eyeshadow base *lol* and that is really it.
I don’t often prime my face before applying foundation because I have rather dry skin, but when I do I use Smashbox… I would love to try out the MAC primer though, because I’d always like to maximize the longevity of my makeup!

i do prep for color. i start with a clean face, add a little toner and then i use a foundation primer (MURAD oil control mattifier or MAC Face Protect Sp 50). when using eye products i use UDPP or two faced shadow insurance. i tend to slick a little balm on my lips before lipstick as well. i have never used a primer for mascara however. i think that would definitely be too much.
Yay! I ‘Prep for Colour’ by applying primers to my eyelids and face! Of course beforehand I make sure to properly wash (w/ Neutrogena or Papaya soap), tone (w/ Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner), and moisturize (w/ Olay or Ponds). If I’m not pressed for time I will prime my face with Hard Candy’s Sheer Envy Primer and if I want to use eye shadow I will use Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Nothing fancy or expensive as of now–I just started using makeup seriously around my 19th birthday late of last year.

I can only use most face primers infrequently, as I’m sensitive to the ‘cones in so many of them, but I sometimes use Laura Mercier’s primer. I vary eye primers, though, and used Too Faced Shadow Insurande and Mac paintpots the most.

I tried Benefit BadGal Face Primer, but it smells like Bubble Gum and it also felt like this on my Skin.
Now I am using differnet primers from MAC (Prep & Prime Lip, Lash, Line Filler…) but I have no face Primer.

I always, always use a primer on my eyes – I just can’t get the color and the long-lasting quality that I want without it! I actually use Mary Kay’s version; it may not be the best, but I love ordering it from my aunt and it’s always worked well for me.

Honestly? First of all, I have to prep and prime myself mentally! I’m still learning to try things out of the ordinary for me, and that definitely includes colour, so for myself, the biggest thing is mustering up the courage to try something out there colour-wise!
Make-up wise though – I always use a good primer. I like Bare Escentuals Prime Time for my face, since it’s formulated without parabens or any of that nasty stuff, and I’m starting to see the benefit of eyeshadow primer, like UDPP!!!
I actually have never used a primer for my face or my eyes but I’m just now starting to get into it and looking for new products to try!
I typically prep with Mac Prep + Prime before ANY color; however, just recently have fallen in love with Korres’ Quercetin & Oak Age-reversing Primer! Would loooove a new reason to fall back in love with Mac! 😉

I use Smashbox’ primers, at the moment it’s Photo Finish Light. I like the original the best though, but I had to try the light version to see how it worked 🙂 Besides from that I use Eye Insurance 🙂

I actually don’t wear any primer at all. I just apply my moisturizer and use that as a base for my makeup and it does the job pretty well. I even get asked all the time what I use on my face and when I reply with just moisturizer and studio fix + powder, they freak out! I use cetaphil moisturizer btw…just ordered laneige moisturizer to give it a spin. 😉

I don’t prime my face but I’m going to buy Prep+Prime Face Protect w/ SPF50 once my sun lotion is used up. At the moment I only used moisturizer and sun lotion w/ SPF30 and make sure to let it sink in completely before I apply any make up.
But I prime my eyes. I use paint pots, Bare Study gets the most love.
I always prime! As Napoleon Perdis said, not to prime is a crime!! I prime with inglot’s makeup base, and it is amaaaaazing. Only $30, and you need only the tiniest, tiniest bit! It’s fabulous, oil soaking, and it just feels amazingly silky. My foundation goes on really well afterwards 🙂 I like it better than NP primer!
After letting my moisturiser sink in, I use Guerlain’s Meteorites primer in the winter or MAC prep+prime face protect (SPF50) in the summer and then I put my foundation on. Underneath my eyeshadow I use Lancome’s long lasting softening concealer.
For my face I use a moisturizer and MUFE HD primer. For my eyes I use either MAC Paintpot in Painterly or Benefits F.Y.Eye!

I don’t prime my face but i think i need to. My face becomes dry and flakly when i used some foundation. But i would love to dry out mac prep for colour products.
I only prime my eyelids because I have oily eyelids
I also use l’oreal resurface primer on my nose and my forehead in the summer

Painterly on my eyes & sometimes the liquid Chanel eyeshadow makes a good start.

I use the original Urban Decay Primer Potion
I don’t use a primer on my face, just bare study paint pot on the lid!!
I use several primers: Sephora’s perfection primer and zero shine, mac prep+prime and mac strobe. Prep+prime is my favourite! For the eyes I use artdeco shadow base or mac bare study.
I’ve never used a face primer. I start with a clean face and always moisturize my skin before using any makeup product.
I use MAC Prep + Prime Face and Oil Control Lotion to prep before foundation, and Fast Relief Eye Cream to get rid of the creases under my eyes. Then I apply my Studio Sculpt and put on MAC’s Fresco Rose paint pot as a prep for my eyeshadow because it’s so light compared to my skin that it just blends in :P)

hi ,this is the only site , where i always have to look for swatches before i purchase anything from MAC. prep+prime is something which i need to have in my cosmetics box its the most essential thing i need before i put my makeup on. i have tried other brands but unfortunately nothing is like MAC Prep+prime this is what suitable for my skin.

I don’t use a foundation primer all the time but when I do, I use the MAKE UP FOREVER Oil Free Face Matifying Primer. It’s amazing.
For eyeshadow primer, I just use my under-eye concealer(the MAC Select Moisturecover concealer) or a cream colour base which usually helps my eyeshadow last longer.

i moisturise and then apply clinique super city sun block spf 40, which has a high spf factor and doubles up as a primer too, in terms of eyes i always use mac soft ochre paint pot, never udpp i find it hard to blend with… is this just me being wierd or do guys have this prob 2????
I apply moisturizer and foundation, with my light skin-tone it’s very important to have a flawless face when pulling off color.
And at my lids I use too faced shadow insurance.

actually I don’t have primer because I can’t efford it, mostly I use a lipstick to prime my eyes and it works for me for a few more hours but I really want to try a real primer for once 🙂

The thing I most often do is using eyeshadow base, apart from that it really depends on the occasion – foundation primer I use only every once in a while, it feels too caked on with the suncreen underneath and all.

I don’t always use a primer to prep for colour; depends on the day. If I want my makeup to last longer, I’ll use Smashbox’s light photofinish primer. I do always use primer on the eyes though, usually UDPP, hoping to try out a MAC paint pot soon.
I prime my face with Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer & I prime my eyelids with Benefit Cosmetics Stay Dont Stray because I find these both work best –
but, mind you I have not tried M.A.C Cosmetics’ primers.

Urban Decay primer for my eyes. Depending on the weather, MUFE All Mat primer, Korres silicone free primer, or Avon Magix face perfector.
unfortunately, I dont have a primer, but I tried the Inglot one was very good! I also use paint pots for my eyes 🙂
I only use moisturizer (and/or sunscreen) under my foundation. On my eyes I always use UD primer potion, and sometimes MAC paint pot in painterly if my lids look very discolored.
I don’t really prep my face, only my eyes with Shadow Insurence or Primer Potion.
I prep for color by using a lightweight moisturizer with spf. i tried smashbox’s primer, but didn’t like the consistency.

I prep with a good face serum to smooth and moisturize my skin, then I use Holy Crow under my eyes and a good primer on my eyelids if I’m using shadow that day. I do occasionally use BE face primer, but not often.
Just moisturizer and an eye primer, then comes colour.
I don’t use any expensive primer. Instead, I use vaseline jelly combined with concealer to prime my eyes. For my face, I use Monistat Chafing Relief Power-Gel. They’re ok but I want to try the real one someday.

For the face, the only thing I do to prep is moisturize. I’ve tried primers in the past, but I’m usually too lazy to add that extra step in.
For the eyes, I always use TFSI and then depending on the colors I’m using, maybe a paint pot to bring out the color.
I don’t prime my face, but I think I would like to start doing so if it will benefit my look. Im new to makeup so Im willing to try anything. 🙂

I use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer for eyelids because I got it in a box set (the one for brown eyes). It’s terrific–eyeshadow has never creased on me when I’ve worn it. Will I buy it again? Unfortunately, no. It’s $20 for .1 oz, whereas UD’s Primer Potion is $18 for .34 oz–more than three times more for $2 less!

I prep for color with NARS primer since I have a sample for my face, and I always use TFSI and sometimes MAC Bare Study paint pot on my eyes, and then my lips I moisturize with Korres Lip Butter or Lip Venom Primer. 🙂

I love using MAC Prep and Prime before I apply my foundation it makes my make look so much nicer when I use that and it also seemsto last longer. So I think I am going to buy the prep and prime serum from this collection.

I currently don’t use a primer, but went to sephora the other day and think primer would be a great addition to my everyday routine. I currently use a mix of smashbox eyeshadows and use a bobbie brown black gel eyeliner. I also have smashbox eyelid primer. I commute to work everyday an hour there and back and this MAC makeup would be great for me to have so when i get home from work I am already to go out and don’t need to touch up on my makeup. I prime with moisturizer using Lush’s Dream Cream (yes, I use it on my face) before applying my foundation. And I usually prime my eye with a paint pot; Painterly on an everyday basis.

On my face, I use the Korres primer or the MUFE HD primer in Pink :] My favorite is the Korres primer, very light and refreshing. Doesn’t clog my pores! On my eyes, I use UD pp or LM satinee creme colours. Although I like both, I use the LM more often now :]
My favorite primer ever is the artdeco eyeshadow base. I have tried quite a few eyeshadow primers, but this one just works best for me. I do not know if it is also popular outside from germany? 🙂

Ooh, I’d like to enter! Lately all I do in the way of priming is a quick layer of oil-controlling moisturizer or just a quick blast of Vitamin E face mist from The Body Shop. I used to have a full-on spackle routine, wanting to hide my deeply imperfect skin from the world, but lately I’m finding less is more.

I absolutely need primer! my face is soooo dry. I usually use bareminerals prep and prime to lay a smooth foundation for my face and some oon my eyelids so that my eyeshadow can pack a punch!
I always use UDPP for my eyes but with foundation I feel like I don’t need primer! My skin is dry so the foundation stays on pretty long and doesn’t move around. But, I hear that MAC’s Prep + Prime Skin Refine Zone treatment is wonderful for pores! I have large pores in certain areas so I think I may have to try some here soon! 🙂

For me, priming my face is not required. My skin is quite dry and providing I moisturize before hand, I don’t have a problem with the longetivity and application of my foundation. For my eyes however, I use either Too Faced Shadow Insurance or a Paint Pot. And to prime my lips, I use Too Faced’s Borderline.
the way i prep is with moisturizer, Clinique Dramatically Diferent Moisturizing Lotion (my skin gets suuuper dry) and a primer, the Rimmel Fix & Perfect. 🙂

I prime my lids using the Revlon Beyond Natural Primer. Doesn’t do much for me on the face so I decided to use it on my lids once lol. Worked pretty well. My lids do not get oily anymore and the color stays on well. 🙂

I use the Mac prep and prime Spf 50, that way my sunscreen is done and my face priming is done in one step. I also like to moisturize before color.
I love Mac face prep & prime…I live for this stuff. Many people like smashbox face primer, but they make my face feel oily and it leaves a shine. I don’t have that problem with Mac face primer.

i love using primers – I think it just starts your face off with a perfect canvas. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyes and sometimes NARS primer.
I prime on a freshly cleansed and moisturized face with NARS primer and MAC prep and prime refining serum. Then I prime my eyes with UDDP.
A healthy good skin is always a must ‘coz your make-up won’t look good no matter how much you pile on if you don’t have a well-cared-for skin.. After putting on a moisturizer and some tiny amount of sunblock, I use Prep+Prime Face Illuminator Color Corrector as my primer (its the violet one that counteracts uneven skintone, bought it at my local mac counter and not available online).. After that I put on a sheer amount of foundation, set it with my mac studio fix powder, dab on some dots on top of my cheeks brow and bridge of my nose, brush on some of my favorite well-dressed powder blush on my cheeks, some black eyeliner, a coat of mascara, and swipe on Mac Hello Kitty TLC in Popster on my lips.. After that, I’m all prettified and sun-protected.. ^_^

I never used to use primer,but I recently started using MAC’s prep & prime skin refined zone. I really like how it makes my pores appear smaller when I apply foundation. 🙂 I use it only on my nose and cheeks. I also recently got into using Smashbox’s photo finish foundation primer, and I love it! It makes my skin super smooth, and makes my foundation stay on longer. Whenever I use e/s, I love using paints and paint pots.

I used to use the smashbox primer but it started irritating my skin, now I just use a matifying t-zone gel from lancome and apply my makeup straight on. I make sure that I exfoliate and moisturize properly to keep my face healthy and my skin glowing.

I wait a bit after moisturising and use a No 7 Primer all over, as well as either Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance or UDPP to hold eyeshadow. Then I sweep some powder over my face, so it goes underneath the foundation but over the primer 🙂 The next primer I want to try is MAC Prep and Prime – the one with SPF in it, for the summer!
I don’t like primers because they are usually full of silicone and petrolatum, that are a big no, no for bio cosmetic. So, I usually just put moisturising cream and start with foundation!

I think the collection is awesome! I do prep & I prime for color. I think you can get the best finish by preping with moisturizer and priming the eyelids.

I am lost without primer (for face and for eyes). For my face I use Smashbox Photofinish Light and for my eyes I use the Urban Decay Primer Potions (although MAC painterly paint pot works well as well).

i always use my dramatically different moisturizer from clinique before applying foundation and some form of a base on my eyes before applying foundation (too faced shadow insurance and bare study paint pot are favorites of mine!)
I usually prime if I’m wearing a special cheek color by layering a cream blush with a powder blush, especially if I wear my NARS blush.
My favorite face primer is “Monistat Chafting Gel”. For the eyes, I prime with MAC Painterly Paint Pot.
i love to use the mufe HD primer on my face before foundation! and also UDPP for my shadows!

I like to use MAC Prep & Prime or Smashbox Primer before I put on my makeup…it definitely helps my makeup go on smoother. If I want more of a glowy & dewy look to my skin with my regular foundation, I use a few spritzes of Fix+ before I apply my foundation.

I never prime- a consultant once told me that although you look good, you feel like theres a pie on your face. 🙂 That was in my teens, and i havent primed since. But i still use a napoleon perdis foundation and concealer to look smooth before adding color.

I don’t prep and prime my foundation. However, I use UD Primer Potion and various MAC paint pots under all my shadows.

I always wash my face with an awesome skincare routine! The better the skin the better the application. I follow that up with MAC matte creme or dr. brants pores no more. And for eyes UDPP of course haha

Hi Christine, I prep for colour by using Murad’s Oil-Control Mattifier SFP 15 – best oil control product that works for me and it also clears and prevents blemishes. For my eyes, I prep by using UDPP.

yes, i do prep for color. laura mercier’s foundation primer and too faced’s eye shadwo insurance eye primer. these two have improved the quality of the results….

I love to prime, I feel it is necessary to provide a long lasting hold for your makeup. I use hard candy cosmetics face perefecting primer and MAC painterly paint pot to prime my eye lids

I prep for colour with a smooth canvas. I find that starting out with a smooth tone and a primer that last all day, makes the look I’m going for much better. For an eye primer I use the paintpots from in either: painterly, stringalong, indianwood, bare study and sooo many more =)

i don’t usually prime my face but i like to try ^^
I have tried MUFE primer and MAC but I dont see a difference, therefore I dont use any on my face. My eyes is a whole different story, since I have oily lids, I 1st use Two Face shadow insurance and 2nd I apply urban decay primer potion. That combo helps my eyeshadow stay in place for about 10 to 12 hours. Love it.
I prep with some light moisturizer because although i have dry skin, a heavier moisturizer tends to make me feel like a greaseball. Then before i apply anything else i use clinique’s pore minimizer and if i wear eyeshadows, udpp is a must!
I am lazy and don’t use primer for my makeup during work. But if it was for an event or function, I would prime. I use becca matifying primer and found that it does a pretty good job of keeping my face matte.

I use either Smashbox’s Photo Finish Bronzing Foundation Primer or Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood for my face, and Urban Decay’s Primer Potion in either Sin or Eden for my eyes.
My current primer that im lovingg is monistat chafing gel. Sounds funny, but it works just as good as any primer for almost 1/3 of the price!!

I prime my face with Yves Saint Laurent Matt Touche (only the areas where my foundation starts to melt of my face: forehead, nose, chin) and my eyes with Guerlain eye primer. Not completely satisfied with the eye primer though.
I always wear eyeshadow primer to make the color stick better and prevent fading. I use paint pots or shadesticks, but Bobbi Browns cream eyeshadows are really great, too. For a bold lip I just prime with lip balm and blot the color, then reapply. It usually stays put on me this way.

I have many different primers. I’m not sure any of them do a great job. I mainly want a primer to reduce the pore size. Still looking for the perfect one.
I like to make sure my skin is clean, clean, clean 1st and formost, then I use a skin primer and eye primer, then a tinted moisturizer, then my foundation choice for the day (liquid, cream, mineral), now I am ready to color my face.
I sometimes prime my face with Prime Time, but I ALWAYS use MAC’s painterly paint pot on my lids.
I prep for color using a mac paint pot and sometimes I use ysl’s primer!
I use primer on my face and eyes, and sunscreen, of course!

I have very dry skin, however i dont use a primer. Instead i moisturise my face first using The Body Shop Mango Body Butter.

I moisturize after cleansing my face in the shower. I don’t reapply just before foundation because it makes me to shiny. I used to use bare minerals primer and I just didn’t see any difference with the foundation and I think it may have led to a few pimples. Just one or two (I’m 35 and I rarely get acne anymore).

I’ve been using smashbox as a primer recently. For a day to day look I don’t usually use an eyeshadow primer, but if I’m heading out for the evening I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance (I made the switch from Urban Decay and I’ve been pleased – both are great products).
I definitely prime. I use UDPP for my eyes and when I’m wearing a slippery blush, Smashbox Photo Finish for my face. 🙂

I have discovered that my skin does not do well with -cones, and so I avoid them whenever possible. When it comes to makeup primers, this can certainly be problematic!
I have found that LORAC aquaPRIME is the best primer for me.
To prep for color, in the morning, I exfoliate in the shower and moisturize with LUSH Imperial if necessary. Then I prep with aquaPRIME, and then a layer of mineral foundation.
I moisturize my face to prepare for foundation, but haven’t got a primer yet for that. As for my eyes, I usually use TFSI or UDPP or a paint pot of some sort to help my shadow stick.

I always start off with a clean face obviously, after i wash i always use a toner (green tea toner) then i moisturize i use different moisturizers depending on what i buy, i love Mario Badescu collagen spf moisturizer, i dont always use primer on my face but if i do sometimes use Revlon Age Defying Spa, i also have used Urban Decay Primer Potion which is lovely, if i dont have any primer i will use a sort of thick smooth moisturizer like Mario Badescu. i also prime my eyelashes sometimes with a clear mascara.

I prep for face color with a moisturizer and SPF and let it sink into my skin first. I have also used primer (smashbox, quo or gosh) to help foundation from settling into pores, but I don’t find it to be a necessary step. I did start to prep for eye color with Smashbox’s lid primer (was recommended to me when I was complaining to a cosmetician that my Dior shadow colors would alter, reacting with my oiler skin) and have been using it ever since!

I prep for colour on my eyes by using Lumene eye makeup base, then MAC Painterly Paint Pot on top after the Lumene dries. Then I apply my eyeshadows. As for my face, I start with a toner, then apply Paula Dorf face primer for oily/combination skin, then add MUFE HD Foundation on top. I set that with MAC Set Powder in Invisible, then I apply blush to the apples of my cheeks on top of the Set Powder.
I love mac but I’ve suprisingly never tried their primer.

I always use a primer since I have an oily face. I love the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier. It really does the job of reducing the oil secretions on my face! I can’t live without it!
At the moment i’m using spackle by Laura Geller, so far I like it. I have used a few primers and I’m still not sure which one works best for me yet.
i usually use a moisturise my skin before applying any make up. i wear primer only on my eyelids to help my eyeshadows last longer. i use paint pots to prime my eyes and as a base.
I sometimes prep for colour!! Sometimes with awful consequences – creased eyeshadow is not a good look! I do find the Benefit creaseless eyeshadows good so I use them as a base sometimes. Some foundation primers I’ve tried make my makeup slide but a small bit of Estee Lauder Idealist can work for me. Really want to try the MAC ones.

Whenever I wear eyeshadow, I have to use Shadow Insurance by Too Faced. I always make sure to prep my lips by applying Vaseline prior to makeup application.
I love my smashbox primer, but will try Murad when I run out. And for eyes I love UDPP in Sin and paint pots! They have so many colors. 🙂

I sometimes use makeupforever hd primer, but I mostly just use moisturizer (yu-be) and then makeupforever foundation as my canvas!
I don’t use primer on a daily basis, but if I have to go for a special occasion, then I use MAC’s prep+prime SPF 50.

For my face, I use Lancome La Base Pro, it leaves a wonderful matte finish and lasts all day!
For my eyes, it depends on the look. Mostly Too Faced eyeshadow insurance (no colour), UD primer in sin (gorgeous!), or Painterly pot from MAC (matte) 🙂

I use a primer for the eys, but i actually found that i prefer the painterly paint pot to the eye primer.
I prep for colour by using smashbox photo finish primer (only sometimes) and usually just using a good moisturizer. For eyes, I definitley use urban decay primer potion.

I use MAC Prep + Prime SPF 50, but am looking for a better primer since this one doesn’t really work for me. I have gotten some samples from Sephora, Laura Mercier and Korres primer, but the first one made my skin hurt, and the second one doesn’t smell very good. 🙂
I wear Clinique dramatically diff moisturizer and thats pretty much it – no primer under my foundation!!

How do I prep for color? Right now I’m loving cetaphil sunscreen, i use it every day and follow up with smashbox sheer focus tm in luminous.
I use primer mostly for my eyes. My favorite is Painterly by MAC 😉
For my face, I use sometimes the one from Lise Watier calls Base Miracle.
I prep with Dior Skinflash Primer, followed by a foundation, Dior Airflash foundation, or MAC’s Studio Fix! However, I always make sure I am in a good mood for my long and laborious make up routine , Usually I put on some salsa so that I feel great and sing along as I begin my make up/ getting ready routine!
I use an eyeshadow primer, UDPP. Have been on the lookout for a face primer but all the ones I’ve tried so far make my face an oil slick or break me out
I think priming makes all the difference for both shadows and oil breakthrough on the skin. Plus it makes your makeup wear so much longer. I love smashbox, UD and MAC!
I usually don´t. I just wear some sunscreen under my everyday foundation. I use an eyelid primer though…

I use both Urban Decay and MAC paint points to prime before applying my eyeshadows. With both combine my eye makeup lasts all day or all night.

I don’t wear foundation, so I make sure to use a primer if I need my blush to stay all day long. Other than that, I usually just make sure I use a moisturizer with SPF
Oooo I have been wanting Sorcery badly and the others look just as lovely!! Please enter me doll! I use a primer when I am going out for the evening or a special event. On a daily basis, I don’t tend to use one. I like to use Monistats Chafing Gel as a cheapie one! I also tried Smashboxs Photo Finish ‘sample’ and I did like that one as well. I splurged almost 2 years ago on Beauty Society Intuit “Photo Shoot” primer because Kim Kardashian said she loved it. I have only used it 4-5 times because I do not have extra money to spend and this was pricey (to me anyway as I am BROKE!). I actually think this was improves the overall glow and look of your skin, on top of being a primer. You just have to be careful not to use too much or it will sometimes in some spots “roll up” or crumble when you apply your foundation. I may now have let it dry good enough those times, not sure! I use MAC prep + prime SPF 50
I usually prime my face by washing with Clinique Soap Bar and then hydrating with Avene Mattifying Cream. Foundation goes over that, or sometimes Clinique Cityblock Sheer. For eyes, I use TFSI or MAC Paints.
I prime my eyes and lips, using urban decay eyeshadow primer potion for the eyes and just my rosebud salve for my lips so that my lips don’t dry out.
My secret is to layer different eye primers…..for example, I layer Painterly Paint Pot, then Urban Decay primer potion in eden, classic, or sin!
-cLEANSE
-I cleanse with my Clinique 3-step skincare system and Clarisonic Plus
-If I have any blemishes, I use my Tanda Light to eliminate them
-Moisturize with Creme de La Mer (I use the Gel de La Mer in the summertime)
-I apply Smashbox Photo Finish with my fingertips
-I apply Clinique Perfectly Real foundation in Alabaster with a Mac 187 brush
-I apply Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NC15 with my fingertips
-I apply Mac Select Sheer Loose Powder with a Mac 182 buffer all over my face and neck.
-I apply Mac Blush in Pink Swoon onto apples

UDPP, no face primer, but i always use cetaphil’s spf 50 moisturizer under clinique’s dramatically different moisturizer! spf = very important.

How do i prep for colour? First, Yes of course i think its essential to prep for colour because your face is being exposed daily to everyday germs and other radicals that can affect your skin in a bad way :(. I start of with a clean slate by washing my face with aveeno foaming cleanser then i apply a dual moisturizer with Spf 35 to my face and neck and im all set to get started for on my colour 🙂

I usually prep my eye area with MAC powder due to my oily lids. This way I get double the usage out of my powder. I would love to win this so I have primer for my eyes AND face! =D

I have really dry skin so I simply use a heavy moisturiser and Urban Decay Primer potion on my lids.
I prep my eyes by applying concealer and mk primer ; just started using monistat chafing cream to prime face.. would like to try a paint pot one day or even mac’s prep and prime and im following on yt..

I am a primer junkie right now I am using Clains instant smooth as well as a sample of MUFE HD primer. I like them both. sometimes I use the MUFE before foundation and the Clairins after foundation and before setting powder to help camouflage my big pores and acne scars
