I have several favorites that I rotate around – NYX Extra Creamy Round in B52, Maybelline Touch of Spice, Clinique Chubby Stick in Broadest Berry, Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple

Not sure since I just do not know how to be loyal to just one…or even two! I pretty much have several shades in steady rotation! It all depends on what I’m wearing on both the rest of my as well as clothing. And my mood, too. So it’s been all MAC most days: Marque, Maria Moretti ( they seriously NEED to make this shade in THIS formula permanent!), Diva-ish, Sunny Seoul, Make Me Gorgeous. I love that Guerlain Gems! They should make THAT one permanent, too!

Tom Ford Matte Velvet Cherry! Runners-up: Tom Ford Matte Pussycat, Nars Velvet Pencil in Dolce Vita and Ellis Faas in Ellis Red!

I’m on a ‘no buy’ period until the end of the year so that i can use up some of these 50 MAC lipsticks i have. So i’m picking the ones that are the most used up and finishing them. I’m on Cut a Caper and Ravishing.

Natalia Avatar

What a good question 🙂

Well, it’s something along the lines of MAC’s Hue (or Japanese Maple at the moment) or NARS’s Roman Holiday. I don’t think much of my lips, so I usually try to accentuate eyes, although I have been venturing out of my comfort zone with NARS Niagara once in a while 🙂

Alix Avatar

While I haven’t worn it recently, I’d have to say NARS Dolce Vita. It’s the only lipstick I’ve repurchased *multiple* times.

Blue Avatar

2nd Ruby Woo. I’ve used up one full tube and am about half way through my second. I’m even a little tired of it at this point, but it’s a beautiful red that wears impressively–hands down it’s the workhorse of my lipstick arsenal.

Mariella Avatar

Ah….Plumful would be my 2nd most used lipstick. In fact, I nearly put it as my most used but for the past few weeks, Craving has been my go-to (mostly because it’s on the top of the pile of lippies in my little bin)

Alla Avatar

These are my most used too! Heat Wave more than Plumful these days and Nars Anna has a reserved place in that rotation too.

Jones Avatar

Maybelline Touchable Taupe . I love nudes and I havent found one better than this one for my skin. Its a cool toned brown with a touch of pink.
I have been looking for a matte version of it though.

Raeanne Avatar

Touch of Spice from the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte collection! It only came out last year, but it’s been my go-to neutral/MLBB every day color.

Yuan Avatar

no. 1 dior cherie bow (I’ve used 2 but probably not gonna purchase more because clarins nude rose is better in shade and lasting power).
No. 2 clarins nude rose. best shade ever for my skin tone and everything
No. 3 too faced melted peony

Nicole Avatar

Lately , Guerlain Gracia. But probably because it’s my newest Guerlain and those are easy for me to throw on and wear all day because of the hydrating factor. Garance is also a go to for me. Gems was a LE ,is that right?

Michelle Avatar

I just checked to see what Gems looked like and OMG that is so my color!! You said it’s not available now right? Guess I will have to go out and get Too Faced Debutante since it’s a dupe!

I’ve bought MAC’s Crosswires 3 times so I’d have to say that is one of my most used lipsticks and I get so many compliments when I wear it. I can’t say I’ve repurchased many lipsticks twice, so three times means it’s pretty special.

Astrild Avatar

During this autumn and Winter my go-to lipstick has been MAC Capricious. Right now, I’m changing to a more spring shades and I’m using different lipsticks all the time.

myriah Avatar

I dunno, creme cup maybe? I use buxom lip polish in Sandy and nyx pale pink a lot but as for lipstick I’m not sure but I pare those two with every thing I can lol

Dyan Avatar

MAC Après Chic is my favorite lipstick ever and I’m on my last tube of it. I’ll be so sad when I’m out of it for good. i bought this tube from someone in the Netherlands!! That’s how much I love it!! The closest dupe I found is Chanel’s Vendome, but it’s not the same.

Janessa Avatar

That’s MY favorite lipstick too! I’m NC 15 brown hair and eyes for ref. I try to use it only for special occasions.

Brenda P Avatar

Rimmel Naked (a disc’d moisturizing lipstick in a pink tube) or Mac Patisserie. I don’t even have to think about how they look, just put em’ on and go 🙂

Delainey Avatar

Mac Pure Zen! It is barely hanging strong. I bought it when I first started my makeup collection and it was the first nude I found that really complimented me. Since then, I have found others I like more, but it is still certainly my most used!

mirlynn Avatar

I keep 3 tubes of pure Zen at all times. One in my purse, one in my desk at work, one in my stash at home. Try topping it off with London Lip Butter gloss in “tea with the queen.” Perfect compliment.

Jen Avatar

Just in case you don’t know, Nars Audacious in Angela is VERRRRY similar. After I bought Angela and swatched them both on the back of my hand when I got home I was so annoyed I duped something in my collection, especially for that kind of $$!

Lotus Avatar

Hi Christine, sorry to go a bit off topic but if anybody knew the answer to my query, it’s you. May I please ask you if you know if the MUFE Plexi glass glosses have replaced the lab shine ones? The lab-shines were full of emollients and hyaluronate, I loved them. Nothing is aspired to any lip care in the descriptions for the plexi gloss and no ingredient list can be found to elude to otherwise. I’d really appreciate anything you could please offer me in the way of an answer. Thank you so much.

Currently my most used lipsticks are all by Lipstick Queen and then I’ve brought also brought out the Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip things in Blood Orange & Satsuma. 🙂

Christine Avatar

My guess is they’re discontinued, but I haven’t heard anything from the brand directly. Sephora doesn’t have them on their site any more, but MUFE’s website still shows them, along with three other gloss formulas (and those aren’t at Sephora) – but they don’t appear to have the Plexi gloss up yet. I’d try calling a MUFE boutique as they probably would be trained on what’s in the full line (including if Lab Shine was sticking around at boutiques only).

Lotus Avatar

Thank you so much for responding to my query! I sooo appreciate it as I noticed they disappeared on sephora! I have a couple backups but.. It’s heart breaking. May I also ask your opinion of how the formulas compare? Thank you kindly! Happy Hump Day! 🙂 xo

Lotus Avatar

Christine,
Thank you so much for the information. I guess I’ll have to try one as it may just be alright, especially if longer lasting! My concerns lay where they do not promote hydration with the plexiglass. Yet, who knows? 🙂 Oh, also, just in case any readers are extremely pale/fair and cool toned, the Hourglass Luminous (Lighter one) Bronzer looks amazingly natural. I’m the lightest & coolest possible colored skin and I think their transparency will adapt to each unique color tone. As you are quite warm, even if neutral leaning warm, they showed up quite warm on you, though lovely, and I think it scared people away. I’m not one to bronze, but felt an instinct to go ahead with this one just to add a little look of being sun kissed, and it turned out blatantly perfect. Application was an ooh aah experience. Lol! 😛 It is pricey, but SO natural, I cannot recommend anything else more highly. I hope that helps any on the fence as well as lend to you information that on very cool tones, the coolness controls the bronzer. 🙂 Loving it. Will try a plexiglass. Love to you! ~ Lotus

MAC Sweetie….it’s more than halfway gone, I am never able to finish a lipstick it seems and that might have to do with the fact that I just keep buying lipsticks cause they’re my favorite beauty product

Andie Avatar

I would have to say either Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, MAC’s Chatter Box, or NARS Dragon Girl.

I went through a couple of the Revlon balm stains in honey when I was on Accutane (twice!). It was the only thing I could wear that both hydrated enough and gave me good color.

Not including my Accutane days, I used to be addicted to MAC’s Chatter Box. I still really like the way it looks on me, especially with blue eyeliner.

When I was younger I was addicted to NARS Dragon Girl for years and years. Now that I think about it, I might have to go with that one for all time most used. It was my first high end lipstick, and I still love it.

I change up lip colors almost every day, so by the end of the week I always have 10+ (ie $100s of dollars worth of) lipsticks in my purse. I have to remember to empty it out on a regular basis. Choosing a most used is pretty difficult, but I will stick to these three for now.

Heidi Avatar

For now, YSL’s Nude in Private 🙂 not only is it the perfect MLBB shade on me, it feels like lip balm to my very dry lips. I reach for it at least 3x/week, which is an accomplishment since I own over 70 lip colors o.0

Molly Avatar

Lately I’ve been carrying ColourPop’s Lumiere with me everywhere. It’s a great go-to that seems to go with most of my looks pretty effortlessly. Love NARS Dragon Girl for a bright lip though!

Brandi Avatar

For a softer look I’m obsessed with MAC’s tinted lipglass in Nymphette. When I like to be bolder my go to is LASplash Ghoulish.

Diana Avatar

Most used lipstick ever would be MAC lipsticks in Mocha (satin) or Touch (lustre) or Taupe (matte). I’m on my 3rd Touch lipstick and its halfway gone but haven’t touched it much this year. I’m on my second tube of Mocha…3rd if we count the LE version I got in 2011 Surf Baby release – i refuse to finish it…it’s so pretty. For most used lipstick right nooow…it’s been all about Revlon for me. I’ve been rotating between dabbing on Revlon’s Ultra HD Lipstick in Primrose or Revlon’s Colorstay Moisture Stains in Miami Fever and Cannes Crush or Holika Holika Holy Berry Tint in #3 Orangeberry. I’m not into full pigmented lips right now. I’m loving how dabbing on lip products looks…so my lips look kind almost naturally stained that specific color.

Luiza Avatar

For me it was MAC’s Please Me, that I completely finished a couple months back (which I documented in my blog about project pan) and now it’s MAC Myth, which is also being documented in my blog. I guess I really do like my MAC lipsticks…

Ellen Avatar

MAC Touch and Clinique Pure Posh and Tenderheart, Paula’s Choice In the Nude, Clinique’s Bronze Leaf for something brighter, and MUFE’s Naturals in # 7 and 9.

So many old loves have been discontinued: Nars Corinthe, Bobbi Btown Malted, Mocha Stain and Walnut stain, and her thin liipstick in btownie nude, and most recently, Smashbox’s Legendary lipstick in Chai!! Why, Why, why??

Rachel R. Avatar

Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Lipstick in Pretty Knit; Max Factor Moisture Rich Lipstick 537 Creme Rouge; Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick in Cougar; Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bebop; MAC La Vie En Rouge; Nyx Wicked Lippie in Trickery.

Lancome The New Pink–on 3rd tube so far]
new favorite MAC Syrup
In the rotation–Revlon Sassy Mauve–love them pinky purples

Cherry Avatar

My most used lipstick is ‘Undressed’ by Calvin Klein CK One Pure Color. It’s a pinky nude! I absolutely love it but there are no reviews on it via blogs or vlogs that I’ve seen! It’s definitely one that gets no attention!

Pasheeda Morris Avatar

My go to lipstick is Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in M3-Matte Caramel. It’s versatile and a great nude to wear everyday all year round. I wear it all the time when I don’t feel like wearing my reddish brown lipstick.

CJ Avatar

Lipstick Queen in Hello Sailor and MAC Midimauve are both down to millimeters, have to use them like they’re lip balms now!

Regina Avatar

MAC bombshell and lovelorn. But now I’m into fuschia pinks so, MAC Lickable. And my current most used red is Elizabeth Arden matte lipstick in Bold Red. EA’s matte lipstick range is so underhyped! It’s amazing and the formula is even better than Nars matte lip pencils!

Johnna Avatar

Kat von D’s Lolita. I keep telling myself I will buy a backup, but I haven’t made it to the mall lately and I am trying to resist shopping online (because I will feel compelled to buy enough to get free shipping. LOL)

Marissa Avatar

Nars Audacious in Anita. It’s my go-to lipstick now! I love the formula of those so much 🙂 … Also Mac Twig paired with Whirl lipliner is another combo i use a lot.

Fran Avatar

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in No. 19, ‘Fuchsia in Rage’ is the only lipstick I’ve ever used up and re-purchased, but Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in No. 27, Iridescent Blue Pink, is close behind, and is a color that always looks good on me, no matter what else I’m wearing. Bright, cool, blue/purple-ish pink lips just light up my face like nothing else!

Joyce Avatar

I’m so bad at wearing lipstick regularly. They always feel like too much of a fuss for this lazy girl. With that said, most used of all time is probably Shiseido Baby or Revlon Peach Parfait.

My mom had had several lipsticks that she used completely. I mean like she used a lip brush to grab what was in the tube part that holds the lipstick until that was clean. She’s done that with several YSL and MAC lipsticks. I’m always like HOWWWWWWW?!?! But she has also used an entire Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick JUST FOR EYES. I understand nothing.

Patsy Avatar

In high school, I went through at least 2 tubes of Prescriptives Chili – a beautiful matte brick red. Now, I’m so addicted to makeup that I can’t remember the last time I finished a tube! Anastasia Pure Hollywood is definitely getting the most use as of late, it matches all the eye looks I’m doing with my ABH Artist Palette and TF Sugar Pop Palette.

I have tried Lancome’s Bi Facil, and it works ‘okay.’ Are the other oils any better than this? I have been lurking for years but I thought I would mention what I use because no one has mentioned it so far to my surprise. It’s not the latest thing, but you get a decent bottle for a decent price and it does a great job.
Whereas with the Bi Facil, I had to do a lot of rubbing to get my eye makeup off, with Cetaphil I pat a bit of water on my mascara and then gently rub the Cetaphil around and remove it with more Cetaphil on an eye makeup remover pad.
If there are any ladies out there that are worried about pulling too much on their eye area, or on a budget, I recommend it, because there is so much slip there’s very little pulling on the skin in comparison to Lancome’s (and I’m wondering if perhaps the other oils mentioned as well?) The one caveat is that it doesn’t remove waterproof mascara. It’s also considered a waterless cleanser.
It’s available from any drugstore and probably most grocery stores.

M. Avatar

Oops, not sure what happened but this is in the wrong spot! Could you move it Christine, to ‘Best Cleanser for Removing Makeup’ please? Thank you!

Stephanie Avatar

MAC See Sheer, I have the last of my last tube in a little pot so it doesn’t go to waste… and my other tube it almost used up as well. It’s such a gorgeous, wearable light coral.

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 12. I’ve gone through two tubes already, and have two waiting in the wings. It’s a great coral “red”, it’s the one color I get compliments on and it can be super vibrant or dabbed on in a subtle, matte stain. The Urban Decay Bang lipliner under it is awesome!

Angie Avatar

i’m surprised no one says mac creme cup and rebel; they’re my first and most loved of all mac lipsticks.

otherwise now also loving: nars audacious (i loooove the pinks and nudes), shu uemura lacque supreme (ALL), ysl lipsticks (especially fuchsia in excess and tender peach), and mac pink nouveau

Elizabeth Avatar

It’s been Urban Decay Gash forever. I just stocked up on it as well as a bottle of the nail polish. It’s my favorite summer toe color and my backups were desperately low. They are exclusive to urbandecay.com. The other one I used to wear until it was discontinued was Chanel Portofino. When I am not wearing Gash, I wear Urban Decay Mrs. Mia Wallace. I love my reds.

Pami Avatar

Like e/s and blush, I switch up l/s (and l/g’s) all of the time, but my oldest HG is MAC Violetta, however, I am really liking it’s slightly pinker dupe of Milani Violet Volt. I also reach for Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Lollipop (which is fully pigmented) and EL Pure Color Violet Crush. See a theme here 😉
Since I often wear e/s in pinks/mauves/purples/plums, I love those shades in lippies and blushes too. They are the most flattering on me.
My coloring is fair to light cool/pink NW15-20.

Kala Avatar

In the winter months I use Mac Freckletone as my everyday lipstick and in the summer time I use Mac Coral Bliss 🙂 Its nice to have a pop of coral instead of my regular nude when the weather is nicer!
