What's your fondest makeup memory?

These days… definitely my Sydney Grace x Temptalia palettes – the process, the release, and the outcome. Every time I use them, I just love them so much on a personal level, like they are inspiring and fun for me to use. I always love the end results I get from using them. It was and remains a huge moment for me, too, professionally.

I’m tempted to say “ALL OF IT” – I just love makeup so much that almost every purchase is a fondest memory, until the next one comes along. Recently, though, it has to be finding Buxom’s 24KT Stilettos eyeshadow, which I’d wanted for ages but which wasn’t available at Sephora here, at Winners for a mere $4.99, long after the shade had disappeared entirely from Sephora’s website and from Buxom’s (it’s still showing but not available). I’d coveted it for such a long time that finding it was like finding a treasure. Same has to apply to the Becca blushes and highlighters I’ve been able to find there also and at outrageously reduced prices to boot! I love a bargain but even more, I love finding something I thought I’d never be able to find….now if only I could find MAC Moth Brown eyeshadow!

I don’t have strong attachments to a specific memory to call the fondest, more like multiple small tidbits that put a smile on my face.
I have the memories from the short time my mom sold Avon products, finding the love for lipstick through those mini samples (a love that went in the background and reignated 7-8 years later). The tradition that I had after I moved to US to gift her each year a new Marc Jacobs Blaquer (along with other products) when I went back to Europe… an almost sad memory since the product is discontinued and I haven’t been to Europe in 2.5 years.

But I also have fond memories about the ladies who sparked the final transition of me loving makeup.
The Benefit Brow Bar lady that did my eyebrows for 3-4 years, the first person that I could chat about all things makeup, and the one who introduced me to brow products (I was before a do nothing except grooming them).
And the MAC makeup artist who did my makeup for my best friend’s wedding and other events during that time… she sparked the love for multiple products I still always have in my collections. I still follow her on social media, she has two wonderful daughters now.

Being with my sister, going to Bergdorf Goodman and being EXACTLY color matched at the Prescriptives counter for foundation and powder. My own little bottle. I have no idea what the formula code was on the bottom. It was a great day and time and we talked about it often afterwards for years. Here’s to my best friend and loved sister being her best self in heaven (no doubt putting on her Guerlain bronzer up there) πŸ™ love you … miss you 🀍🀍

I would agree with you there Christine – those Temptalia x Sydney Grace palettes were a breath of fresh air into the makeup realm when they were released – so vibrant, workable and stunning shades to use all year round. Flying High remains one of the most unique shades I own and I love it.
For me, there are many fondest makeup memories – but I guess the one that stands out for me was when I started seriously getting into good quality eyeshadow palettes. I saw the EL Blue Dahlia quint at a local David Jones store and fell in love with it – the teals, the blues etc. I had never seen anything like it before and I purchased the very last one in the shop. It was on my birthday too.
