I mix Flower Beauty Blush Bombs in Pinched, Melon and Bubbly together, put CT Hollywood Flawless Filter on the high points of my cheek, then go over with any shade in the Beauty Bakerie Cotton Candy Champagne palette. It’s so beautifully flushed and glowy.
That Tom Ford really is gorgeous.
My favorite highlighter continues to be Maybelline’s Master Chrome in Molten Peach. So I’ve been doing Benefit’s Posietint or Milk Makeup’s Glow Oil in Halo, and then Molten Peach on top.
But I do have a runner up! If I’m wearing purple or blue I like to do a little dab of Flower Beauty Color Drops in Nectar, and then I’ll sweep Kat Von D’s {ultra-violet}amethyst from the Alchemist palette on the rim of my eye sockets.
This summer, I’m reaching for my long-neglected MAC Springsheen quite a bit. Especially liking it paired with ColourPop Here Kitty Kitty.
I don’t really have any combos to speak of but I have enjoyed Benefit Dandelion Twinkle and Becca Moonstone highlighters. And I have enjoyed Kiko Milano Green Me Blush in Soft Mauve and Origins Pinch Your Cheeks Blush in Rose Dust
My favorite highlighter right now is any peach color. Dior backstage palette in glitz , kkw beauty , glitz and glam , and rms savannah peach ( which is more gold) . Blush, I’ve been using the eyeshadow that came with the rms savannah peach highlighter. It’s too pinky for my eyelids so it works great as blush!
Because it’s summer, sometimes all I want is a bronzey nude type cheek. On those days, I love to use Tarte Paaarty Amazonian Clay Blush and Dose of Colors Miramé highlighter with my usual UD Jawbone bronzer.
Now, for a hot kick in the pants shot of color, I love wearing Nars Fetishised with ABH Amrezy highlighter or PMG Fine Gold!
I use highlighter mainly for evenings out, not as an everyday thing. My favorite combination is Dior Nude Luminizer in Pink Glow and Chanel Joues Contraste in Pink Explosion.
With the humidy that we have here in the Greater Montreal Area (78% today), no highlighter for me. I have enough dewiness after 3 minutes spent outside, even on my dry areas of the face.
The blush that I continue to use every day is a liquid one, Inglot AMC Liquid Blush in 93. It is long-wearing, it gives a fresh and natural look and it does not separate in the bottle as does Nars Liquid Blush in Orgasm.
Same here Nicole when Melbourne Aus reaches its summer zenith and we get all the humidity coming down from Northern Australia. No need for highlighters then.
I know what you are saying, Genevieve! It is hotter and hotter every summer here in Eastern Canada, with high humidity. We know that the Arctic ice sheet is melting at a higher speed than usual, and that it does not freeze back entirely, because we can feel it. When you think of it, the entire Arctic is a frozen ocean surrounded by land, and that’s scary. The melting ice is disrupting not only the weather here, but the currents in the oceans and the overall climate, because of the large quantity of fresh water dumped into the ocean every year. Today it is the 3rd consecutive day of heat (40C) and humidity alert here in Greater Montreal. They announced 85% humidity this afternoon. Waterproof makeup takes an entirely different meaning, like in sweat-proof/non melting makeup 🙂
Surratt La rosee du soir with Angelique. It’s just perfect.
Dior Nude Blush in the shade 999, (I have to be super careful as this blush is really pigmented so I have to really swirl it off on my wrist or a tissue before going to cheek), paired with Dior Luminizer in Pink Glow. More often than not, I just swirl my brush in both, swirl off and then go to cheek. I am wearing my blush a little higher on my cheekbones because as I age it seems my cheekbones are dropping a little, LOL! I still have fairly pronounced cheekbones but they just seem lower on my face.
Clinique cheek pop in Black Honey pop and Urban Decay’s Sin highlighter! For some reason I like wearing dark blushes in the summer haha.
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove topped with Dior Rouge Blush in Hologlam, and, on the very tops of the cheekbones, a little Wet n Wild MegaGlo HL in Blush Azalea (MegaGlo Highlighting Palette). A rare cheek look that is so pretty I want it to take center stage in my look, instead of my eyes or lips.
My most used lately has been theBalm Balm Beach with either City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder (DC) or Too Faced eyeshadow in Unicorn from the Totally Cute (LE) palette. I was camping in hot weather and not wearing a lot of makeup, and these combos looked natural, yet still put-together.
I don’t actually have a “favorite”… For one thing, I really haven’t worn blush in several months, as I’ve favored bronzer. While I have a favorite bronzer (L’Oreal GlamBronze in Light), I’d been using it for at least 6 months straight, and decided to move on for a bit, as I have a couple of others I want to get through. Second, when it comes to highlighters, I just have far too many that I absolutely love… That said, my current combo that I’m reaching for are a NARS Orgasm/Laguna mini & LORAC Tantalizer mini duo, which have been in rotation for about 2 weeks, and I haven’t even made a dent aside from the highlighter in the LORAC duo… In an effort to get through both duos, I’ve been using them together. I use Laguna to bronze, then the LORAC to deepen the contour, as it is too pigmented on its own, plus I’m a bit tan. As for Orgasm, I don’t know if it’s because it’s the mini duo, but it just seems to work more like a highlighter on me, but I do top it off with a bit of the LORAC. This will likely be what I reach for until the end of September, then just toss them out, to make room for something else I’ve been wanting to try for some time, but couldn’t justify while these are in my stash.
I’ve been reaching for La Peach by Artist Couture, the Glow Extreme highlighter in the Natasha Denona Bloom palette, and the highlighting drops in Trust Fund by Suva Beauty. I like to put the drops under my foundation, then at the end use the other two highlighters. Blinding. But when I want a more effortless, bronze goddess look, I will use the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow in Medium Deep on my cheeks, bridge of nose, along my hairline. I still use the highlighting drops under my foundation. For blush, I use the blush that is in the ND Bloom palette.
Now you’re speaking my language! My hot highlighter summer is all about:
-Buxom Ibiza blush w Maybelline x Puma Masterchrome h/l in Knockout
-Mac Dame blush w Ofra Covent Garden h/l
-Beauty Bakerie Cotton Candy Champagne Blushlighter Palette, topped off w ABH Amrezy bc Mars oc
-Tarte Learn (from Make Every Moment Count cheek pallette) w Ofra Covent Garden or Nars Fort de France
I love a semi matte to matte finish on my face/cheeks. So no highlighter glow – it just makes me look shiny and oily. And any amount of heat and humidity can do that to me too. So I love EA’s Sweet Peach and I use Rimmel’s Translucent semi matte powder to damp down on any glowy tendencies.
