What’s your current everyday makeup routine?

I don’t have an everyday routine, since I test what needs to be tested, so the only constant is I always fill in my brows (have been using Anastasia Dipbrow for awhile now) but there are no products that are consistent beyond that!

My everyday makeup routine is — a naked face! O_O I work from home and rarely leave the house on weekdays so I just usually don’t wear makeup day-to-day. I do like to do a full face at least once a week to try new products and ideas.

For weekdays:
– Moisturize with with CeraVe
– Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream on under-eye area
– Fill in brows with Colourpop Precision Brow Gel in Cool Cocoa
– Prime eyes with either NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer or MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre and set with UD Foxy eyeshadow.
– Eyeshadow (different every day)
– Eyeliner (not every day)
– Mascara (top lashes only)
– EL Double Wear Makeup
– RCMA or Laura Mercier Translucent powder
– Blush
– Lipstick

On weekends, it depends on what I’m doing.

Everyday makeup when I don’t feel like going to much effort:

1. IT CC Cream ‘Fair’ plus Bye Bye Foundation ‘Fair’ plus a dab of Lancome Teint Idole ‘Yellow’ blended for foundation
2. A powder or creme/powder highlighter on cheeks
3. Aromaleigh Ultra Resolution Mineral Finishing Powder ‘Clear’
4. MAC Paint Pot ‘Goundworks’ in a halo eye effect
5. Benefit Dandelion or Rockateur blush (usually, though sometimes I pick one of my countless other blushes instead)
6. One or two powder eyeshadows applied simply (usually, unless I use a blush other than the two I listed above, then I generally just stick with the base color)
7. Aromaleigh Mineral Finishing Powder ‘Gypsophilia’ for under my eyes and around my nose and chin
8. A moisturizing setting spray
9. A mascara that complements my eyeshadow — if I stuck with just the MAC Pot base, then I use Maybelline The Falsies in Navy Glam
10. bare lips; if I go with just the paint pot for eyeshadow, I sometimes do lip gloss, blotted

I’ve gotten “makeup lazy” recently, but my previous everyday look used to involve the above with bare lips and much stronger, more complicated eyeshadow, or just the paint pot base for eyes with a strong lip (often an unusual color, like blue).

I don’t have a consistent product routine, as I have a huge stash I try to actually use. I work from home, so usually I can wear whatever I want in terms of color and style. I also vary according to what I’m doing, weather, temperature, motivation, etc.

*A waxy-type lip balm. Varies.

*Eye primer (either TFSI or UDPP in Enigma).

*Face primer (1/2 and 1/2 NYX Angel Veil and e.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer is working great for me currently).

*If needed that day, green color corrector to counteract slight redness on my nose and cheeks. (Using the last of my stash of NYX CC Cream in Green Light/Medium, DC).

*Foundation to fit how good my skin is, and weather/temperature. The last couple weeks, it’s been either BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory, or bareMInerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Opal.

*Loose setting powder (currently RCMA No Color Powder), applied with a kabuki brush.

*Concealer, if needed. I spot conceal blemishes, and occasionally have to cover dark eye circles. This goes over foundation and powder, let set, then I lightly powder the concealer with what’s left on the brush. (Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in Bavarian.)

*Contour lightly under my cheekbones, around my chin, and the sides of my nose using Sephora Collection Tranquil.

*Brows: I brush them with a spoolie, then fill them in with ABH e/s single in Love Letter to match my hair. If the roots are more grown out (I naturally have medium-dark brown hair with red undertones), I’ll use MUG Bitten or the powder from the e.l.f. Brow Kit in Medium. Then I brush through with the spoolie again.

*Eye look: Varies from day to day and can get quite colorful. I change up products used daily. Usually just eyeshadow and pencil liner, but I may include liquid or gel pot liners, eye-safe glitters, highlighters, loose pigments, chunky glitter or gems (if I’m really ambitious).

*Tightline upper waterline and lash line with UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. I often line the lower waterline as well, but not always. Product varies.

*Apply blush high on my cheekbones. I take it toward the hairline and maybe around the temple, to make my face look less round. Product varies.

*Highlight the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of nose, and chin. Product varies.

*Setting spray. Usually e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.

*Black mascara, 2 coats, upper and lower lashes. Varies. Currently I’m using up a Medusa’s Makeup Witch Lash, as it’s a wetter, easily smeared formula, and the summer weather dries it faster. Sometimes I use colored mascaras.

*Lip color. Steps and products vary. I always start by blotting off what’s left of the lip balm I put on at the beginning of my makeup routine.

Ilene- light skin, dark green eyes and dark brown hair
At minimum, I always use undereye concealer and concealer on any red spots. This is so my family doesn’t think I am ill! I use the Lm flawless for undereye and the secret camoflauge for spots. I fill in the gaps in my brows with the KA brow pencil. I will either use concealer or the Nars tinted eyeshadow primer because I have very dark lids and they also add to the tired look. Loose powder on nose and around hairline. BB pot rouge in fresh melon and I redisovered the BY terry bronzer/blush the circular one with the smaller circle in the middle and I really am loving it and also loving my new Suqqu blush, it’s
from the fall line and it has an ombre look to it like the KA blushes. Mascara on upper lashes and a tinted balm- I love the Tarte nude, the PM one, it’s a soft red berry color, Chantecaille lip chic in hyacinth and the Suqqu moisture lipstick shade 2. If only this brand would come to the states!
This is often it but I might use the Urban Vice palette that I love or my new Suqqu one that I just bought that has a lovely peachy gold, coral, very light Khaki beige and a deeper khaki brown. A bit different than what I normally gravitate to but I am really liking it.

I wear the same types of product everyday but the brands generally differ from day to day. After sunscreen, it’s eyeshadow primer, crease shade, two or three lid shades, liner, mascara, under eye primer, face primer, foundation or TM, under eye color corrector, concealer, setting powder under the eyes, finishing powder on face, bronzer, blush, brow mascara, brow pencil or powder in bare spots. Lips are the variable.

The only constant is that I lay down UD Eye Primer in Eden for warm looks and Edward Bess Primer in Cashmere for cool looks. Then I play with eye shadow colors. Or use a favorite palette. In cooler, pale-r seasons I do my brows (with TF brow liner). But with a lot more color, I just dust them lightly with a shadow, Then I go to the two mugs with liners and pick an upper lid liner and sometimes a lower waterline liner. Then I apply black mascara — currently TF Extreme from Nordy sale. Lastly, concealer (YSL), blush, and lippie (brights or neutral nudes)– vary by the day. I alternate between three blushes because I am lazy. Yesterday I went through my blushes to see if I had a passable dupe for Dior Confidential. And I found a stunner I fell in love with on Syloft’s insta and ordered from Ebay. It’s a Jill Stuart called Seductive Mum with stripes of cool white, pale pink, and deep raspberry. Perfect vibrant cool-toned. So that will be back in circulation now for birthday week. I work at home but my job entails constant news monitoring– makeup, exercise, two cat brothers, a hubby who cooks — and my friends– keep me sane.

Clean, moisturizer and sunscreen to prepare my face. I don’t use toner in the morning. Then, eyeliner, mascara, foundation, powder, blush and lipstick.

For an everyday routine I generally go with my favorite performing products from my collection since I know how they will perform and how they look on me. I start with SPF which currently is Australia 50, prime with Tatcha primer around my nose, chin and forehead. I also use Revlon Blurring primer on my cheeks and Smashbox Primerizer over the majority of my skin. I follow with a quick spray of MAC Fix + and then apply my foundation with a BB or my fingers. For some foundations I will use my Artis 7 brush. I apply concealer which right now I am using a combination of Lancome Effacernes in Porcelain and Cle de Peau concealer. I usually end up applying a little more concealer after using powder products or sometimes I will use a powder foundation just to cover the pesky pigmentation.
After foundation I will lightly powder to set everything. I usually only powder under my eyes and center of my forehead. I have a million loose powders that I love so honestly, I can randomly pull one out of the drawer and be happy with it. I use Charlotte Tilbury, Cover FX, Becca etc. On the daily, I don’t contour or bronze. I don’t really love how either look on my skin. I am pretty pale and most just pull too warm and heavy. If I do it is usually a cool toned contour and I will use it to minimize my double chins and deepen my cheek shadows. I use Sephora Tranquil quite a bit. Blush is either Summer Love by Ciate or one of my Chantecaille blushes in the Butterfly or Coral renditions. They are super easy to use and work for a lot of looks. I use Nyx Waterproof Eye Shadow primer. For eye shadow I will usually use the Pony Glam palette using just a couple of the shadows. It has a nice mix of depth and undertone with enough light, medium and deep cool tones and the same for warm tones. I also like doing just one shadow eye looks and recently have enjoyed Pat McGrath Eye Dol in Divine Minx, Chanel New Moon and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick
in Cobblestone. Tightline with Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer, mascara is currently Buxom Waterproof Lash Volumizing. For brows I have been using the MAC Brow Pen in Fling. I apply MAC Prep and Prime for Lips. For lipstick I will usually use Charlotte Tilbury pencil in Iconic Nude which is very versatile. Then depending on which eye shadow and blush I will pick something appropriate. My favorites in more neutral shades are Twig and Whirl, for pinks I would use Lipstick Queen Private Party, for red, Bobbi Brown Red Carpet and ColourPop for a more peachy shade I use C’Mon Sis. I would then take one of the Guerlain Meteorites and buff the perles which blends everything together. I do a spray of MAC Fix + and I am done.

After skincare and SPF has had time to dry: Tatcha primer in t-zone (gives a smoother appearance, I don’t use foundation), concealer, usually Charlotte Tilbury cream shadow in “Jean” and then I line the upper lid with a colored liner of choice, mascara, and blush.

I really only vary my cream shadow, my upper lid liner, and my blush to my mood. Everything I have is extremely mix and match and gets me out the door for work in an office where I’m one of a handful of people who even wear makeup daily.

I use Laura Mercier or NARS tinted moisturizer and concealer if needed. ABH brow pencil. Contour stick or powder. I am loving ND tan quad with a NARS multiple for a little blush color. Eyeshadow and mascara…lately I’ve been using ND Gold or Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk eye palette…if I don’t use the ND tan palette for my eye look too. Lately I’ve been going for a bronze, natural look.

I started adding Isle of Paradise tanning drops to my even moisturizer and it has been a game changer. On days I work from home and still want to look polished for my husband, I literally just wear a moisturizer, the Multiple for blush and eye color, and mascara. My color is even and I love I can get away with not wearing fuller coverage foundation since with age, my skin is drier.
