Lancome Bi Facil
Simple or Avene or Bioderma Micellar water
A Shu Uemura cleansing oil or Glo Therapeutics Milk Cleanser with polishing beads or Erno Laszlo Charcoal
or Firmarine Cleansing bar
Glo Therapeutics Conditioning Tonic
Retinol or Retin A cream
Silver Spray
Rosehip oil or Glo Therapeutics Vita E Essential Cream or Silver+Coconut cream
Avene Retrinal or Glo Therapeutics Vita E Essential Eye Cream
Jack Black balm or Laneige lip sleeping mask or Aerin Rose balm
After I remove all my makeup using coconut oil and a Simple Exfoliating Wipe (eye makeup with aloe infused baby oil), I apply: Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid & Retinol Eye Serum into my entire lid area, PTR 3% Retinol over face and neck every other night, Ole Henrikson’s Pure Truth rose hip oil and Marula oil, followed by Ole Henrikson Truth Serum, then Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream. I will likely be switching over to The Ordinary for rose hip oil and Retinol, since those are far less expensive, but supposedly very good. Final P.m. steps are applying Jack Black Lip Balm to my lips and applying my eczema Rx ointment to those pesky spots.
Liking the 2 I got from the ordinary thus far. Expect that b’lish will have a hard time keeping stuff in stock. There’s always deciem.
My night routine varies a lot more than the morning one. If I have a full face of makeup on, I will use The Body Shop cleansing balm. Otherwise, Neutrogena eye makeup remover for the eyes and my micellar water on the face (currently Klorane). If I’m showering at night, I will follow with Derma Doctor Wrinkle Revenge, or Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel with my Clarisonic. Then it’s either Jouviance Restructiv retinol cream or Paula’s Choice Calm BHA lotion, followed by Vinali moisturizer, and Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair eye cream.
If needed I will add a moisturizing serum, Derma e hyaluronic or Drunk Elephant hydrating gel. Sometimes I will use a sleeping mask, usually a sample I want to try, or Boscia Tsubaki.
Remove makeup/cleanse with pure coconut oil and a warm washcloth or Mizon egg white bubble cleanser, then the Ordinary Zinc + Niacinamide and alpha-Arbutin serums plus just whatever night cream is handy, usually Trilogy Vital or Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream.
Mine’s been pretty pared down as my pain levels are higher the later it is, so at this point I cleanse/gently exfoliate my face in the shower (evening showers FTW) with the FAB Facial Radiance Polish, and then a bit later throw on some Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum, sometimes with the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate mixed in if my skin needs it. That’s been keeping me hydrated enough that I haven’t been bothering with a moisturizer or eye cream as by then my hands hate doing anything.
Pixi Double Cleanse, prescription strength retinol, Zelens Power D Treatment Drops, Doctor Duve Boosting Face Cream. And face masks twice a week, skipping the other things then.
Well, here I can be more elaborate than with my morning routine 🙂
1. MAC Wipes (love!) to remove makeup
2. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
3. Holika-Holika 3-second starter (hyaluronic one) when I feel like it.
4. The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Extreme-Moisture Serum with Essential Oils
5. Usually it’s Scinic Pig Collagen Jelly Cream, but twice a week I alternate it with Mizon Good Night Wrinkle Care Sleeping Mask.
6. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
From time to time my step #3 can be Tony Moly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack
Smth like that.
Micellar water to clean off eye makeup. Use Vaseline or Ponds if I need something stronger
Cera Ve face wash
MAC Lightful Softening Lotion
Olay Serum
Face oil
My evening skin care routine is a little long and complicated, but it’s my favorite part of my day!
1) Cleanse – juice beauty stem cellular cleansing oil, it’s ok. It doesn’t irritate my eyes which has been a problem with other cleansing oils, but is a little overpriced for what it is IMO
2) Cleanse- Honest beauty gel cleanser. It’s great as a second cleanse, especially in the winter for me, when my skin is extra dry.
3) Tone – Kiehl’s ultra facial toner
4) Essence – currently using Kiehl’s iris extract activating essence
5) Serum – using Holy Snail’s shark sauce. This stuff is the BEST
6) Moisturize – working through some deluxe sample moisturizers right now.
Cerave nourishing cleanser for normal skin
SK-II Cellumination Mask-in Lotion, or — if I’ve worked out or it’s been a more humid day etc. — Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free toner or Thayer’s astringent
trentinoin cream, a prescription retin-a
La Prairie Cellular Contour eye cream (expensive, I have used and liked for years so am ambivalent about looking for something less costly)
how do you use the differin? on spots or generally all over the face? I have been thinking about it ever since I heard it works like prescription retin-A…but I am more interested in it for anti aging rather than acne treatment
I use it all over my face!
Chritine do you use it before or after serum?
I don’t use a serum!
Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Micellar Water for face/Lancome Bifacil for eyes
Algenist Purifying Cleanser with Clarisonic Mia 2
Pixi Glycolic Glow Tonic
Lush Tea Tree face spray
Lancome Genefique Youth Activating Serum or Dr. Dennis Gross Clinical Concentrate Radiance Booster
Algenist Elevate Firming and Lifting Eye Cream
AmorePacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme (this was a gift and I did not purchase a $150 moisturizer. But it IS divine!) or L’Occitane Shea Light Comforting Cream
Varies. If eye m/u, garnier blue top, then Hada Labo oil. If not, usually forgo the previous. If skin was oily that day, Paula clear or clean or whatever cleanser, Cosrx aha/bha toner, Cosrx bha, spot treat with Paula 4% bha foam and ordinary azelaic. spot the dark spots with Paula c or their other dark spot tx. Then ordinary buffet, Paula heavy resist serum to eyes and perioral, Paula eye cream to both. Then aha, either Cosrx or derma e. Wait. Then light coat of Mizon snail or Cosrx snail 96. If the skin was more agey, less bha and more antioxidants, like Paula resist light serum all over, buffet underneath, snail 96 and beauty of joseon cream. Not to forget the corticosteroid to the eyelids and one brow.also fit in a nip and fab gel cream with a wrinkle tox. And C thrice/week. If skin isn’t shouting, follow an alternating schedule, with less direct acne or aging ingredients, but some of both, and always aha/bha toner, followed by a straight bha layer, Paula resist or Cosrx. And yes, now that it’s OTC, differin will be added to the game, by itself at first. As a person who can use up to 6 bha layers a day, the idea of no acid kind of freaks me out.
Mine is pretty intense:
Double cleanse if wearing makeup or even triple, I’ll use a wipe, an oil, and a regular cleanser. I’m currently using Acure for wipes, Fresh for oil cleanse, and then either Glossier or SR Ceramic Slip for the rest. Sometimes Pixi Clow Mud.
I have one acid toner which I will use if I’m using an acid elsewhere. That acid is Pixi Glow Tonic.
I use 3 moisturizing toners: Fresh, Klaris, Whamisa
Then a treatment or oil; I have too many to list
Eyes: SubQ and Benton Fermentation eye cream.
and then a moisturizer which is either Tidal or TJ’s. OR I use Tidal right after toners if I’m lazy or parched. Occasionally it might be a sample or something i have a mini of.
I might also throw a mask in there either after cleansing or after toner if it’s a sheet mask.
I cleanse with Garnier Micellar water on a cotton square.
Now if I wore makeup:
Simple Eye Makeup remover
Yes To Melting Cleanser
Timeless Eye Cream
The Ordinary ‘Buffet’ serum
The Ordinary cold pressed Argan Oil
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing cream + HA
I plan on adding more of their products in gradually because I have such sensitive skin with either contact dermatitis or rosacea.
Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover, Hada Labo Rohto Gokujyn hyaluronic acid cleansing foam, Stridex red box, Paula’s Choice resist C15 super booster, and finally, Cerave moisturizing cream.
Boscia Make-Up Break-Up Cool Cleansing Oil followed by La Roche-Posay purifying foaming gel for oily sensitive skin using the Clarisonic with the radiance brush. Then Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Plumping Moisturizer + Serum. I alternate between a prescription retinoid and Ren Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial. I use the prescription retinoid under my eyes every other night. Every night I put some Dr. Brandt Needles No More wrinkle relaxer on my crow’s feet. Then I put Boscia Tsubaki beauty oil over everything. Then Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream on my lips.
I just started using Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion Night Serum on my neck and chest every other night. It doesn’t irritate so I will move to using it every night soon.
I’ll remove my makeup with Pond’s Cold Cream, or Paula’s Choice hydrating cleanser.
Then I’ll wash my face with The Face Shop’s Rice Water Bright cleansing foam.
Then I’ll take some of Marcelle’s toneifying lotion on a fluffy towel and tone, and remove any left over makeup.
I’ll pour a small amount of Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid into my clean palms, and then pat that into my face focusing on my cheeks and nose.
I’ll pump out one full pump of my prescription acne treatment, and apply that all over my face.
I’ll tap some Hydrating serum all over. (i’m currently using one from Paula’s Choice but I’m 99% sure its breaking me out!)
Then I’ll massage some of Marcelle’s Revival Pro Sculpt day cream all over my neck and face.
I’ll tap some of Cliniques repairwear eye cream under my eyes at this stage!
Lastly i’ll pat a hydrating cream mask all over my face! I’m currently using Paula’s Choice hydrating face mask. But I’v used Avene’s, and Avon’s!!
My skin type is: Dehyrated, Oily, And Acne Prone!! I have fine, dehydration lines under my eyes, and my main focus is on acne scarring and hyperpigmentation
I am finishing up my Dr. Lewinn’s Cleansing Milk – which is really good and will re-purchase, as a cleanser in the shower.
Physicians Formula Argon Oil
Olay’s Regenerist Serum
Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Eye cream
Olay’s Regenerist Night moisturising cream
Elizabeth Arden’s Lip Balm
It will differ from night to night but for a couple of months now I try to use a retinol product either TwinMedix or Dr. Dennis Gross. Sometimes I will skip and just use a moisturizer with oil. First I use Tatcha cleansing oil and sometimes I will use Tatcha Gentle Rice enzyme powder after cleansing. I just started using at night only Tatcha’s Essence but it is very expensive & as much as I like it I don’t know if I will continue to purchase it because of the price.
-Double cleanse with Heimish all clean balm and then neogen green tea after.
– pixi glow tonic for toner
– missha time Revolution ampoule for serum
– shiseido ibuki once in awhile
– cosrx hylauronic acid cream as moisturizer
– eye cream (whichever sample I am on as I’ve a ton lol)
– origins overnight mask twice a week
🙂
Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil – no complaints, but I’ll be switching to SK-II next
Cle de Peau Clarifying Cleanser with my Clarisonic 2x
I moved my AHA/BHA to the AM, so I now go straight into my SK-II Essence
Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Night Serum
Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Wrinkle Neck Serum
Sunday Riley Luna
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Giorgio Armani Eye Cream
Neulash Lash Serum
If I need additional hydration, I’ll add in another oil or some moisturizer. Right now my two options are an Armani moisturizer or Rodin Olio Lusso.
I’ll rotate masks in throughout the week; I have the GlamGlow another go (white packaging) but still not loving it. The Chantecaille Clay Mask is my HG. I’ll also switch around to Chantecaille Fruit and Flower Acids Mask, Cle de Peau Translucency Mask or sheet masks by CdP or SK-II. I use my PMD once a week and will probably try out the new Dr Dennis Gross Marine Hydrating Mask this weekend.
1. If I’m wearing makeup, I’ll wash my face with Tony Moly Banana Cream Cleanser. If not, I’ll wash with some other facial wash, maybe a sample I have or SheaMoisture Dragons Blood & Coffee Cherry facial wash because I like the way it smells.
2. Double check if I got all my eye makeup off by soaking a cotton pad with Lancome Effacil and holding it on my eyes, then splashing cool water on my face to get the remover off.
3. Apply Paula’s Choice BHA Gel. Sometimes I mix it up and use Missha Time Revolution Essence instead.
4. Apply night cream. Right now, I’m working my way through a tub of Lush Vanishing Cream. I put it all over my face, neck, and chest. Sometimes I mix in a drop or two of Odacite face oil. The geranium one smells really good.
I wash my face with either Cetaphyl, Eucerin or Cera Vé presently and liking all the products. All recommended by my dermatologist and never a breakout. Also Vani Cream but have not yet tried it. Then I use some moisturizer such as Boots/No. 7 serum, Olay( small white round pot is good), Bhorgese serum, Trued Regeneraryst and had to stop developed some reddish burn on my cheeks. Lastly I tried La Bella rose hip oil (at Target) left it overnight and woke up moisterized, Dewey and nice! I’m getting old turning 54 soon so I’d like to try more oil types of products I have normal/dry combination skin. So far so good just the laughing wrinkle lines around my mouth and clear skin. I think it’ll change with menopause? No bueno! Lol!
Cleanser:
First Aid Beauty – Face Cleanser, or
Clinique – Liquid Facial Soap, or
pHisoderm for sensitive skin, or
MAC – Green Gel cleanser.
Dot the face with water, apply cleanser, massage it in, tissue off, warm washcloth residue off.
Night treatment:
Lancôme – Energie de Vie sleeping mask, or
Laneige – Water Sleeping Mask, or
Ole Henriksen – Invigorating Night Transformation Gel, or
First Aid Beauty – Ultra Repair Cream.
I use Vaseline first to remove eye makeup and soothe irritation in that area. Then I was my face. I’m fickle about products and brands. After that, I use lip balm, sometimes serum, and moisturizer. Sometimes eye cream, depending on what I have on hand and how the skin near my eyes is doing. If it’s irritated, I leave it alone and let the Vaseline be its treatment.
It’s hard for me to call out specific brands/products I love because I get so many beauty subscriptions and I’m always using products from there. If I like them, I just keep using them until the next box or bag arrives. If I don’t, I stop immediately and go back to something else I did like. I will say I am really enjoying the Ladykin snail cream I got from Ipsy, and a serum from Look Fantastic from Skinchemists, called 24 hour aqua repair facial serum. Both of these give my skin an instant refresher and make it look and feel great.
