I love the finishes on a lot of the cheek/blush products that have come out – luminous but not too shimmery.

Unexpected colors and unexpected color combos! Like the *slightly* autumnal MAC Toledo Bellgreens palette, or the purply-berry of Julia Petit Acai lippy. Unusual, but I’m lovin’ it! Also, diggin’ the crazy brights too!

I’m digging the overall softer shades, cream products, and less shimmer . I also am interested in the new serum/ lightweight foundations. But, I haven’t tried one yet. I am a little concerned that the matte texture may be too dry for my combo-dry.

Strong color on mouths paired with non-cateyes. I still enjoy a cateye at times, but last year went so hard on them, I’m defo ready for unflicked liner and even (ARE YOU READY FOR THIS??!1) no eyeliner looks to make a comeback. It fits with the 90s trend too, the eye liner-less looks from back then look so fresh and relaxed to me now.

Similarly, after all this emphasis on contouring, I’m feeling an uncontoured (or at least very unobtrusively contoured) blushy time coming on, and I’m excited for that too. IDK, I feel like this is part spring trent, part 2015 thing, but I feel things heading in that direction in the next year or two. It feels like we’ve maxed out on contouring a little bit.

Lavenders, peaches and corals are presenting strong. One of my favorite color combinations for spring has always been lavender and peach eyes, so I’m a pretty happy camper. I like that lavender is showing up for lips and blushes, too, not just eye shadows. I’m also loving all the bright pink lips I’m seeing, and the super-shimmery lip products (Revlon HD, Covergirl Lip Lava, Melted Metallics).

I love coral eyeshadow too! I think it’s so underrated and beautiful. I actually especially like to pair it with a red lip. It’s one of those combinations I’ve loved for years, but I always feel like I’m referencing some image I saw when I was little. It’s also great with some blue and a softer lip. 🙂

When I couldn’t get the Sephora Marsala L/S, I opted for some from their ‘suggestion box’ under COTY. Really like MUFE RAI 27 + Givenchy 65 Enigmatic Rosewood. Check ’em out, if you haven’t already caved. Also got a Sephora one, that did not turn out like the tester, which isn’t getting any rotation. Lovely shade + wearable always. Esp. nice for a less-than bold look. Aging is cutting into the bold….
