What would your dream makeup space/vanity look like?

I’d love to have slightly taller drawers and then maybe a bank of drawers on one side of varying heights )(to accommodate some things stood up!), but I”m pretty happy with what I have, which is a very wide, narrow desk that’s easy to clean with a larger mirror mounted on the wall behind it (for “big picture” viewing) and a small, close-up mirror (simplehuman) that sits on my vanity.

Something you’d see in a 2070 futuristic movie. A room with pristine, marble, glass, and lighting — and then drawers, shelves, mirrors, seating, etc., emerge from the wall, swing out, open and drop to counter tops so you can view absolutely everything under exquisite lighting. Press buttons, and more and more beauty items emerge. When done, buttons are pushed and the drawers, shelves and mirrors retract into the wall, leaving nothing but the the original marble, glass and lighting decor remaining. No muss, no fuss, no clutter — other worldly. A beautiful NYC Bloomingdale’s cosmetic department-type atmosphere that opens from and then retracts back into marble walls.

Well, you asked! Lol.

I am so lucky to be really happy with my current setup of a small dinner-table-size table that I cover with drapes I make out of faux fur or rosebud minky. I have three acrylic stands for lipsticks, one for brushes, and I arrange my palettes and other things in a nice little tableau around my magnifying mirror. Anything I don’t use but want to keep goes in a single zippered bag. It’s wonderful. Thank heavens for Marie Kondo.

I really like my current vanity and have no desire to replace it. This isn’t a complaint, but it doesn’t have a lot of internal storage space – just two smallish drawers and another storage space under the flip top. I have a little acrylic drawer set on the left hand side of the vanity, to the left of the flip top, that contains a lot of my makeup.

In my dream setup, I would have reduced my collection to the point where I can store it all inside the vanity, leaving the surface clear.

With my minimal make-up collection, I just want drawer inserts that fit everything perfectly. Right now I hold everything in two shallow MUJI drawer inserts, with bottles standing up and pencils laying down, along with my custom made palette on the side of the drawer.
I do not feel the need of a vanity, I would just like a bathroom with natural lighting (or even an actual window).

I love my TDE makeup storage, as it perfectly fits my minimal collection. I have a stool in front of a window for natural light. All I would like to add is a really stylish standing mirror! Recommendations, anyone?

I’m happy with my storage system. Most of my collection fits in one drawer of my dresser. I have byalegory containers for lipstick, lipglosses, and compacts that fit inside the drawers. I can see everything when I open the drawer. However I would love my own sink/mirror in a man-free space, lol.

Way more organized than it appears to be at this time! And more comfortable, too. *Sigh*
Eventually, I plan on getting an actual small desk/vanity in order to be able to sit comfortably while I apply my makeup and skincare. This businesses of sitting in front of one side of my dresser is a pain, as there is no where for my legs to go really. Therefore: 1.) Get vanity/desk.
2.) Add a Sonny acrylic storage system.
3.) Add an Ikea tall drawer storage unit.

Built-in shelves on at least three walls, and a huge desk-type vanity with a big lit mirror plus a smaller magnifying mirror up closer. On all the shelves would be labled clear pull-out bins to categorize my stuff. I really don’t like drawers. My cute little stool would be there to get to the top shelves, and there would be room to walk. Plus, with nothing littered on my floor for lack of space, my dogs and cat could come in and hang out.

My current situation is a cluttered mess with boxes, bins and bags everywhere and a small cute vanity with a mirror, and I have an old-school Conair lighted makeup mirror actually on the table there.

A small to medium room with a mirrored makeup station to do others faces (pro style with height and lighting) and a vanity for me to sit down (lower, normal level with lighting) to comfortably do my makeup (with lots of left and right table top area, as I use a lot of tools and shadows and would want to lay them out without having to put some of them away while working). And of course, anti-scratch, light-colored, lacquered drawers and cases for brushes and makeup.
