A boring list, thanks to almost non-stop masking. Really, I mostly wear whatever clear lip balm is at hand.
1. . ColourPop Lux Lip Oil in Reign Check (clear with fine pale lavender pearl)
2. Lip Smackers Dr Pepper Lip Balm (translucent reddish plum).
3. E.l.f. Lip Exfoliator in Brown Sugar (no color).
4. Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Fig (translucent mauve-leamimg plum).
5. Milani Color Statement Lipstick in 89 Naked (pale, slightly cool-leaning, mauve+tinted beige).
Milani plumping gloss (3 different colors), which I have finished……3 tubes of? 4? I like it a lot, but I noticed you get half the amount of product in it versus the fenty gloss and the money ends up being the same for the amount…Yeah, if I’m going to be going through lip glosses this year like last, I’ll be picking the bigger size. After trying the Maybelline lifter gloss, I prefer its formula and likely won’t get the Milani again anyway, plus the color I like was discontinued and now they have all these super light shades. No thank you.
Sephora lipstain gloss (discontinued, still available in the sale section). I honestly don’t know how many of these I finished (minimally 4). I remove the stoppers on them and keep going until there is literally zero product coming out. Don’t like the scent, but I like the stain and the formula – while not moisturizing – isn’t drying.
LA Girl lip pencils. I’ve got a handful of these and two colors are diehards that I’ve finished and also have repurchased to put EVERYWHERE. Purses, coats, wallet, makeup table, gym bag, etc…They’re so freaking cheap and the colors and formula are perfect for my needs.
Bite Beauty lip balm – OLD FORMULA. I have a few of these kicking around still and they’re just damn wonderful.
Straight up lanolin. Bite Beauty is where I learned that lanolin is a far-superior hydrator for my lips versus petrolatum, beeswax, or plain oils. I’ve gone through several 2 ounce tubs of the stuff between my lips and cuticles.

Honorable mention goes to: Sugarpill Strange Love liquid lipstick, Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow and another Sephora Cream Lip Stain who’s name I cannot recall (but it’s a perfect dupe of PML’s She’s Heaven) which I’m sure I’ve worn equally as often as the other lipsticks I’ve listed above.
Pat McGrath LipFetish Balm in Clear and in Dark Devotion (discontinued), Dior Addict Stellar Shine in Sideral, Floss Lip Advocate in Your Honor, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy balm.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Le Nu is always a favorite. I’ve been using up older, discontinued Rouge Gs and, sadly am down to my last Lipstick Queen Saint Pinky Nude. It looks like the brand is toast since I haven’t seen it turn up anywhere since it was pulled from Ulta.

Hmm in our globally masked environment we’ve been wearing a variety of lip products these past couple of years. My top five include:
1. Dermal lip balm in the pot

5. CP’s Foolish and Gallop
Based on how much of these I have used this year – as someone who has continued to do full makeup even when working from home 🙂

Only three. Revlon Blushing Mauve (7 tubes used in 2021, my favorite). Revlon Blushed. Ilia Little Sister (discontinued, but I had two tubes.) I tossed any berry or reddish lipsticks as I found they are matronly and aging.
1. Fresh Rose Petal-Soft Lip Cream – use this every night after I shower and periodically through-out the day.
2. Givenchy Encre Interdite Lip Stain – I think this was recently discontinued, but I own it in every color except for Solar Stain – I wear Free Pink, Radical Red, and Vandal Fuchsia most often.
3. Maybelline Matte Super Stay Ink – more of a souffle texture and not too drying – I rotate between Romantic, Lover, and Dreamer.
4. Colourpop Glossy Lip Stains – decent for the price. In practice most of the colors end up looking very very similar, but luckily I like the color
5. Bite Creamy Matte Lip Crayons – the bullet lipsticks are underwhelming, but the lip crayons remain pretty solid. I tend to wear Pastille, Tatin, and Pavlova the most.
On the days I take selfies, I make a note of which makeup I wore that day. So I actually had some data to crunch and these are the winners with #1 being the most used, #2 being second most used and so on.

Most used… on my lips or on my mask? 🤣 Happy Holidays, Happy New Year to everyone, without masks!
This was/is the year I tried a lot of my lipsticks to see if I liked them. loved them or if I disliked them enough to toss them. It was also to see if any of the lipsticks had turned bad. So, I used a lot of different lipsticks and honestly the few I used more than once or twice were:
MAC Hey Frenchie, my most used lipstick of the year.
MAC Syrup also got used quite a bit.
CT Bond Girl, a favourite, renamed MI Kiss, I hope it’s exactly the same colour as I find it very versatile. I need to get a replacement, I’ve managed to almost use it up.
CT Super Sexy, I like to use this when I use warmer eyeshadow tones, I can’t find it on the CT site, so maybe it is DC’ed or was a LE. Pity, I’d like a new one.
Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm and Weleda Everon Lip Balm, I’ve uesed both about equally much, that is every day and night.
Burt’s Bees ultra conditioning lip balm – Sephora melting lip clicks in Cotton Candy – Buxom plumping lip polish in Jessica – Fenty gloss bomb in Fenty Glow – Bite Beauty lip crayon in Pavlova.
I wear lip products almost every day, even under masks, so I can’t really narrow down any particular shades as being more prominent than others! I did have about 5 formulas I primarily used, mainly bullet lipsticks: Revlon Super Lustrous, Revlon Ultra HD Matte liquid lipstick (which is actually more semi-matte), Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution, Charlotte Tilbury KISSING, and L’Oreal Colour Riche.
