Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

The only new scent I can think of is Maison Margiela On a Date. I have a lot of favourite scents but they don’t date from this passing year. And, alas, when I am tempted to add yet another new fragrance, I’m always reminded of that “dictum” from Hubert de Givenchy (though I don’t know why I let it affect me so much, but there you have it – it’s not unlike the tyranny of my Apple watch!)

This is Her is my most-worn fragrance this year. I don’t know how they managed to make a perfume that’s simultaneously comforting and cold, but it’s fantastic!

Looking at the year in total, Izzy Miyake’s L’Eau de Izzy would be the most used. I wear it pretty much all year round but especially love it for spring and summer. I also wore a lot of my Joy this year. I have a couple of backup bottles and while they haven’t changed scent, I don’t want them to go bad so wearing them more. Just for everyday, I like Tokyo Rose Tainted Love and recently, Tom Ford Lost Cherry, although I really hate the name.

Oh, how to choose just a few! Well, there’s L’envol de Cartier, which I love for colder weather. Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum for all year ’round! And I’ve recently been pulling out REPLICA Jazz Club, which I also enjoy a lot.

I rotate perfumes constantly but 2 of my favorites this year are
Juliette Has a Gun “Not a Perfume “ and when I want something warmer Guerlain “Terracotta” …

Dior Addict. Sadly, according to Dior they are reformulating once again. This will be the fourth flanker in 22 years. Big sigh, many tears

Prada Candy is what I wear almost exclusively and I have repeatedly been told I smell amazing (trust me–it’s the fragrance not me 🙂 )

I reached for Zadig & Voltaire This is Her (and then when it ran empty, the Zara Fields at Night dupe) almost every warm day and night this year—which is most days and nights, since I live in the American South.

I also loved Commodity Gold enough to spring for a full bottle when I ran out of my 10ml sample—which says a lot, since I’ve (embarrassingly) accumulated far more perfumes than I will ever get through.

A less-worn, but no-less-favorite, new-to-me perfume was Afnan Amberythme; it’s a warm amber-saffron-spice that smells amazing but is just a bit too heavy/spicy for the warm climate here.

Clearly I need some clarification….do these questions about 2023 products apply to NEW products released in 2023 or is it a question about our own personal favourites worn/used in the past year? I guess I thought these questions were for “new” releases but clearly, I’m the only one who seems to have interpreted it this way….

Thanks, Christine. As I said in a few of these question threads, I’ve purchased so little in 2023 (mostly replenishing products I use up) that I didn’t feel I could actually “take part”.

Probably For Strange Women’s November in the Temperate Deciduous Forest: “Lapsang Souchong tea brewing on a wood-burning stove. Fallen leaves nestle into the earth and mushrooms sprout across thee damp forest floor. A chord of resins create a sweet aura reminiscent of the air after a cool, rainy morning.”
