What was your last impulse beauty buy?

What was your last impulse beauty buy? Share!

I bought a few random hand creams at the drugstore that had good ratings (I bought them online)! I’ve tried two of them, and they both work well but they take forever to absorb!

My last impulse buying was on the Cherry Couture site. I got 3 NYX products, quit a few products from Jordana. And then 2 milani products 🙂 Love everything i got,it was mostly blushes and lipsticks and gloss.

I bought the Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze Compact in Ritual, just out of somebody’s rave video in Youtube. I used my Sephora 15% off. Love Love Bronzers!

Tinose Avatar

My Sephora had a full display of Bite Beauty’s line, and I indulged in a pink and a purple. I do love that brand, because it’s one of the few lipsticks that really moisturizes enough for me that I don’t feel the need for lip balm on days I wear it.

I recently bought Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in #01. I was feeling silly for splurging on it but I’ve always been annoyed that Benefit’s Hoola just doesn’t wear well on my super fair, pink-toned skin. I hate shimmery bronzers and this one is matte and praised to the heavens everywhere I looked so I went for it and boy am I glad I did! Everywhere I’ve been while wearing this, people have been looking at me quizzically and saying that I look really good, asking me what’s different, telling me I look relaxed, etc. It’s really buildable and easy to control how much goes on so I can make it as subtle or dramatic as I like, and it looks very natural. I’m in love!

NARS Cordura; I’ve read nothing but the most positive of reviews, but I always thought it would be too warm for me. I happened to swatch it, and although it is on the warmer side, I think it could work. I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks, but I haven’t played with it, yet.

I bought an eye shadow pallet(5 shadow in Blue Dahlia), concealer and eyebrow pencil from Estee Lauder after a makeover with Alan Pan (one of their international Make-up Artists – he was amazing and incredibly friendly, if you have a chance to meet him take it!)

I learnt a much better way of putting on blush that suites my face and is almost foolproof – Press the brush into the powder don’t brush or swirl and then he showed me where was best on my face 🙂 (3 sweeps and a swoosh)

I bought Crest Whitestrips Gentle Routine and Milani Liquif’eye Liquid-Like Eye Liner in green and purple. So far, I’ve had no problems with the eyeliners. It’s too early to make any judgments about the whitestrips. At least my teeth aren’t sensitive (yet)!

An Ecotools brush set from Walgreens. I’ve only used one so far, and it was a disappointment. Not being able to afford good brushes has made me kind of desperate.

xamyx Avatar

Have you tried Sonia Kashuk? Also, just “deal” with what you have on hand, and instead of buying alot of less expensive brushes, just save for one you really want. Start with those that can multi-task, and build up from there. Essence of Beauty & Posh are good, inexpensive options, as well. HTH

Veronica Avatar

I also second Sonia Kashuk (her stuff occasionally goes on clearance and/or sale at Target, so keep an eye out). If you can get to an Ulta, the Real Techniques brushes are pretty affordable and quite good. The face brushes I’ve used are amazing, particular the Expert Face brush, are excellent. Ecotools doesn’t do the best eye tools, but I do like their powder and kabuki brushes, especially their domed blush brush. e.l.f.’s studio brush line also has a few winners – I’d recommend the “C” eyeshadow and liner brushes. As for higher end, my feeling is that the MAC 239 is always worth saving up for. 😉

Honestly, you don’t need to spend extravagant amounts of money on brushes to find something of quality. The most expensive ones I own are my MAC brushes, and I only own about four of them. The rest of my collection averages about $10/brush.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee and Cotton Candy, along with a Revlon Fastdry Topcoat nail varnish… On offer in Boots how could I resist?

Karolina Avatar

The last impulse buy this weekend was the ” mac prep + prime eye “.
Its supposed to be an eye primer for your eyeshadow that doesn’t crease…. let me tell you … it does haha.
It would be nice if you did a review maybe?

CeeBee Avatar

I got a really good deal on some Lancome lipsticks and then splurged on a Shiseido Maquillage 3D face creator powder (blush, contour and highlight palette) compact.

Ria Avatar

Just yesterday I bought a Lavshuca Melting Moist lipstick in B6 from an online shop. Had no plans to purchase it until yesterday! It was only 13 bucks though, so I don’t feel too bad.

Tigerlily Avatar

MAC lip pencil in Dervish. MLBB but very stiff and won’t cover the couple of tiny depigmented spots on my cupid’s bow. So basically it reminded me why I need to stop impulse buying…

Sara_beauTime Avatar

My last impulse buy was Shiseido’s trio eye color, a limited edition from their Spring collection. A department store here in Stuttgart Germany made great deals for two weeks and on the last day of the deals I had the haul of the year. After buying so many stuff, I was waiting to meet my hubby to go for dinner and he was a bit late. I was waiting by Shiseido counter, got bored and started trying things out. Although I like their skin care line, I never had anything from their decorative cosmetics line until now. After swatching the colors of the eye trio, I just purchased it without thinking. Today I am wearing this and I have to say it gives me puffy looking funny eyes LOL.

Crystal Avatar

Nars Biscayne Park satin lip pencil. I originally went in looking for a vampy fall colour (I live in Australia) and ended up with the complete opposite! Totally worth it though, I wore it every single day for like a week, which is something I never do.

Mariella Avatar

Lumene retinol night cream (I can’t recall the exact name). I never thought I’d come across any Lumene products here in Canada but they were at Winners (a discount store a la TJMaxx) and so I grabbed them. I was pleased to see that the lone rating on MUA (from ages ago) was good. The product isn’t what I was expecting but I’m not displeased with it.

Ellen Avatar

Do you have a Trader Joe’s near you? My favorite hand cream is their shea butter one, which comes in smaller tubes that are easier to take with you and cost $1.99, and the cream sinks in immediately. My father-in-law got in trouble with my mother-in-law because he liked the lotion so much he used it all up on his arms and legs!

krystal Avatar

totally agree with the awesomeness that is the trader joe’s shea hand lotion! i can’t stop recommending it to people and it’s soo affordable :]

Veronica Avatar

Bobbi Brown cream compact foundation. Initially regretted it, since I was concerned it would be too dark and warm for me, but once I applied it, it went on perfectly neutral. Perhaps a smidgen dark for me but nothing that won’t be fixed soon enough by the summer sun. 😛

Barbara Avatar

I went out to buy a hair brush, which I desperately needed and came back with that, one if those handleless detangling brushes, a new teasing comb and a new wide tooth comb. Oops

Julia B Avatar

I recently bought Bobbi Brown skin foundation in alabaster. I have the stick foundation and like it, but I wanted something with lighter coverage. It actually has pretty amazing coverage without looking like there is anything on. I have found it looks best when applied with (clean) fingers. I do also use deslick from UD because I have an oily t zone.

Christine, have you tried aveeno skin relief hand cream. I hate the feeling of lotion on my hands and this absorbs really well and lasts through hand washing.

CHRIS Avatar

Milani Eye Shadow Stick and Baked Blush, as I have been wanting to check out the line. I also have been into body washes lately. I picked up two by Suave, as they are on sale at my local Giant. I like the scents and the price. I would like more lather.

Geneva Avatar

Went to the mall, stopped in Sephora and purchased a Beauty Blender. I’ve always wanted to try it but never wanted to order online, so I picked it up.

LauraR. Avatar

My last impulse buys were 2 MAC eyeshadows (ground brown and corduroy), a Lancome rouge in love lipstick (can’t remember the name), and a Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Secrète. Most of the time I research and plan what I want to buy, though.

Barbara Avatar

Yesterday at the Guerlain and Burberry counters. I got two glosses from their Gloss d’Enfer line and the natural blonde bronzer. From Burberry I got their click concealer which might be my HG undereye concealer. I busted the bank for sure, but I won’t be shopping for makeup for a long time (I hope).

I also ordered a Longchamp Bag, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Clarins skincare product from Nordstrom all within the same week.

First this was not a usual thing but I like to stock up during these sales and have now since put myself on a 2 month no buy ban. And this was only done thanks to getting my tax refund back.
And couldn’t be happier with all my goodies but it def put a hurting on my wallet

alyson Avatar

wet n wild bronzer.. cheap price, good product but total impulse. i am much more likely to impulse shop at drug store because the products are cheap. i research before going to counters

Precious Avatar

I bought Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever plus several nail polishes from Forever 21 earlier without searching for reviews first. 😀

Lauren Avatar

Hourglass Immaculate foundation. I was just browsing in Sephora and ended up being persuaded to buy it because of the liquid to powder formulation. It’s $$$ and I think I like it.

Bryn Avatar

A maybelline color tattoo in barely branded. I never tried the color tattoos and was getting a mascara so with the deal at CVS the color tattoo was 50% off. I love it and have been using it everyday since I purchased it.

Maggie Avatar

I make an impulse purchase on the internet almost every day, lol. yesterday my friend told me that Laura Mercier Foundation Radiance Primer gave you an airbrushed look and I ordered it immediately (even though I have plenty of primers already). I’ll probably make an impulse buy based on something I read on this page, hah.

VickyM Avatar

I rarely impulse buy, but last time I bought a lipstick and some sandal shoes. The shoes are gorgeous and super comfortable so they are a succes. However the lipstick was Mac Betty Oh, Oh, Oh and I bought it because it was the last one left… well I should have known better, there must have been a reason it was the last one. It´s dark brown on me (I´m quite pale) and I can´t use it, it looks really bad so fail for this purchase. Now it´s just in my handbag without getting any use at all…

Leticia Avatar

My most recent impulse buy was Lancome’s Blueberry Love ES – I went to the counter to repurchase only a Teint Idole foundation and well, that lovely eyeshadow made its way to my stash :)!

Starfish Avatar

I bought a bunch of brushes from Sigma and Real Techniques last week. I didn’t need them, but they were pretty and I wanted them lol

Jamie Avatar

One of the new MAC mineralized skin finishes from the Extra Dimension collection, but I ended up returning it because it had absolutely no color pay off and I felt really hounded by the salesgirl to get it.

blueraccoon Avatar

Impulse buy: I’ve had a few of those lately, I guess my last one was my Sephora order for a Dior lipstick (Princess; I had to buy from the name) and UD De-Slick mattifying powder. I also snagged a few Sonia Kashuk Luxe Sheer Colors (I think that’s the name) the last time I was at Target.

Patsy Dseautel Avatar

NARS the multiple in Orgasm. I could have lived the rest of my life without it, I really have to layer it on to see much pigmentation. BUT, I do love it 🙂

Kesha Avatar

Let’s see…everything since IMATS NY has been an impulse buy that wasn’t supposed to happen!

Valley Girl (free)

OCC Lip Tars (after buying 12 at IMATS!!!! But the sale this weekend was like getting more at IMATS prices with the pro discount added on):

I seriously need to stay away from stores and the internet for awhile!

Melissa Avatar

Well Sephora had an extra 15% off so I went all out. St.Tropez bronzing mousse, daily moisturizer, and tan booster, 3 Tarte blushes, 2 korres lip butters, the smashbox heatwave pallette, and the glam glow clearing mask. I could not stop myself I just wanted to try all of them and it was 15% off.

Myriam Avatar

Chanel Les Beiges compact along with the retractable kabuki brush. The powder looked great on me when they tried it on me at the Chanel counter. Now I think it’s okay but I wouldn’t repurchase. I love the brush though!

Katherine Avatar

I picked up a bottle of Essie “matte about you”, L’Oreal vitalift miracle blur (really liked this but have only used it twice), shiseido sweetpea RD 304 lipstick (finally a red I can wear!),and OPI nicole “heavenly”(–meh, not impressed)last week.

krystal Avatar

2 impulse buys actually!

i got the mac raspberry swirl lipstick from the baking beauties collection, that i had no intention of getting, but the nice mac mua told me to try it on – sold!

also got the jouer luminizing moisture tint… i actually didn’t so any research on it before i ordered it, so i’m excited to try it out. i heard great things about the matte moisture tint tho…

Joyce Avatar

An eyeshadow and powder from Paul & Joe Carousel collection. The packaging and print are too irresistible, and I am not going to use them because I don’t want to ruin the pretty print.

Jody Avatar

I bought viva glam nicki 1 and 2, dipdown fluidline, estee lauder’s vérité calming fluid and clarins pure melt cleansing gel on a whim without doing research first. But i LOVE all of them so it’ ok.. haha especially the clarins cleansing gel, it’s a holy grail cleanser already!

Honestly everything i buy is an impulse buy because i’m an impulsive person and i rarely research products before buying them 🙂 oops!
